My weight has been going the wrong direction since about the beginning of May. It's time to refocus.
6/30: 146.2. Yesterday, I did about an hour walk on the treadmill and a 30 minute walk outside in the evening. I started the day tracking food, but didn't keep at it all day. Today's goal is to track everything, do a treadmill run, and a walk outside.
7/1: 146.2. Tracked all food yesterday and went for a walk outside. I did not get to the gym to run though. Same goals for today: track, walk and run.
7/2: 144.4. Goodbye to some excess water weight (finally). Yesterday was a good day, as far as eating. I logged everything and was under my goal. I went for a walk, but wasn't able to get to the gym to run since my husband worked late and I had to stay home with our kids. I'm really hoping I can go tonight.
7/3: 145.3. I had pasta for dinner last night. Pasta always makes me hold onto some water weight. I stayed in calorie goal. I ran 4 miles on the treadmill (finally got to the gym!) and went for 2 walks.
7/4: 145.0. I met my goals yesterday: food was within calorie goal, I went for a walk and a 3 mile treadmill run. I don't think we have any plans for the 4th that will derail me today, so I'm aiming for another good day today.

7/4: 81.9 - oh boy really! I mean I did only fly in yesterday and I did have very puffy feet on the flight (I think I need to invest in compression socks) so I'm expecting some of that to be fluid retention and go in the next couple of days. Even so, not quite the result I wanted, but I shouldn't be surprised, I ate too much sugar, and too little vegetables while away. However, back home now and back eating normally and hopefully we'll get that number back down

In the summer of 2019 my dear friend kept telling me I was “tiny” but I didn’t believe her until I saw someone watching me dry off when I got out of the community pool. I couldn’t figure out WHO that (rude) small lady was staring at me until I realized she was wearing MY BATHING SUIT! OMG!! SHE was ME!!! I AM tiny!
I need to get my act together and get back to that “tiny” lady! We can do it TOGETHER!

6/30 133.5 Headache, going to water fitness anyway
7/1 135.0??? Did water fitness, Walmart, nail appointment. Lots of movement - UGH! Going to lunch with neighbor today. I need to fast for a week!
7/2 133.0 lunch was canceled so I fasted until 3:30. Then had 2 small hotdogs with 1 oz cheddar, no bread. Weather is iffy today and tomorrow with high wind warnings and dust storm warnings. I’m drinking my version of BP coffee minus heavy cream. I have been adding waaaay too much of that to coffee - every cup instead of just the first cup. Today- zero cream, only 1T Mary Newport oil blend. The Weather Channel said thunderstorms at 7:30 and I just heard thunder at 7:20!
7/3 134.0 OMAD yesterday was “Chicago Style Dog” and fries. Not a great choice but nothing really appealed to me. I don’t care for the “snap” that our Chicago friends love.

💥💥💥 07/04-DNW 💠 - (Trend Weight: DNW) Today is my no-weigh Friday and it’s just as well. I must confess that yesterday was not a good day on any level. I did get in a bit of intentional exercise but only about half of what I have been aiming for. Diet was WAY off as the 250th birthday party for the USA was off to a pretty big start yesterday made possible by my lovely foodie daughter and DGS. Today should be an okay food day as our family BBQ will not be until tomorrow (Saturday). I may skip weighing in on Sunday as it would just be a temporary bloat and misrepresentation. I don’t need the scale to tell me that if I partake in the typical foods at our BBQ’s I will bloat and gain. Today most of my children have gone kayaking or tubing down river. I am taking care of all the littles. 3 of them age 4-7. Maybe I’ll get in more steps today? Happy Birthday America!

📓: Decided to stop giving myself checks for yes-days just because I’m “close enough” to my daily goals. I gained last round so need to tighten up, especially with only a few pounds left to lose.3 -
6/30- 168.87/01- 166.57/02- 166.37/03- 166.17/04- 166.0 - Asking for prayers, half my town is under water due to catastrophic and historical flooding of our river. I am safe but so many are not. Missing persons, fatalities, entire houses swept away with their occupants. It was described as a 30ft wall of water than came and washed everything away. Some escaped but couldn't save their pets. The river went from 7ft at midnight to over 29ft by 4am. The rain has continued to pour at a steady rate since (it's now nearly 1pm) and is forecast to rain until this evening with more rain coming tomorrow. Our power has flickered but we are okay and live up on a hill over 15 miles from the river but to see the photos and videos of my town under that fast-flowing river over triple its normal size has broken my heart. I wanted to respond to your decision to not get a food scale (not on the counter?) I broke down and purchased one two years ago when I started this challenge… I began to measure the foods that I eat most often to possess a strong visual. After a few weeks I no longer “needed” the scale - could just “eye” it.
The scale still sits on my counter unnoticed (small & hiding) and I rarely use it… But it’s there for when I want a new food or when my portions start getting bigger 🫣. Since my personal challenge is portion control, I cannot tell you the # of times I’ve had to lessen the amount I first decided to serve myself … It has been an invaluable tool in my journey. Size matters 🤪

@itladyee my goal is to lose at least 0.5 lbs. by the end of this round. I've had good progress just aiming for the baby sized "wins". No clue what my real goal will be, I guess it will in the midrange of what health charts say for my height and frame which is about 120. But I am willing to trade some of that in exchange for fewer wrinkles. Plus I prefer a little extra fat for making hormones and minimizing loose skin.
I am the SLOWEST loser. But I am good with that. Plus I am practicing the "eating more/exercising more" method to correct a bad metabolism wrecked by all the diet years and inflammatory junk. I eat at least 1500 quality calories and I burn an avg of 2000 a day (garmin). No fasting. I exercise a lot - 2.5 to 3 hours daily but it's easy-med intensity and a good variety of activities I enjoy.

June 30 – July 9, 202563 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW WW Sept 29, 2001 - 168.8 (initially lost 29.8, became staff, then up and down 18 years with low of 126.8)
SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress loss if2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress gain)
SW MFP Jan 1, 2023 – 146.6GW Maintaining between 124 – 126 SW: 127.6 Since my weight is slowing coming back down, I’ve added back in history details INCLUDING my maintenance numbers. In January, it seemed silly including my goal was to maintain 124 – 126 when I was weighing 138. Those maintenance numbers are in sight now. Just need to get there.

7/3 – 128.8 Yesterday, was thoughtful. The only negative for the day was that I splurged on a cappuccino at the restaurant last night, and forgot to say decaf. Had a great evening until I could….not….fall….asleep, and I remembered I forgot to say decaf. Not sure how many hours of sleep I got last night, but certainly not what one wants. I wonder if I am going to get hit with withdrawls today. Otherwise, today should be good. :)
7/3 – 129.2 Posting super late today. Was up cooking early to bring things to my daughter, who hosted today. Middle of the day was party, which included my 88 year old, now disabled, mom. After running around with that (though a nice day), drove home, packed and cleaned some more, loaded the car and drove to Maine. Sitting on the couch now waiting for the fireworks out our window.

I'm confused about all the Happy 250th. Isn't it 249 this year? I thought this was 249 and we are BEGINNING the 250th.
I resorted to google given who knows what I think or know anymore these days, but my search got me this: "

@quiltingjaine I had one of those "stud ladies" too. My other favorites was the one that went into the bathroom and came out wearing only a trash bag and made us weigh her in it. Another similar one, the woman handed me her coat and made me weigh in. Then she went in the bathroom, striped naked, put on her coat, came out and made me weigh her, but subtract the weight of her coat. Of course this is all illogical, but really showed how much losing weight can be quite the mind game.

@_JeffreyD_ not sure where a food scale was first mentioned for you. But pardon me for chiming in on the value of it as a training tool. In the home, I use mine many times a day (which might be too much for many). But all that repeat measuring certainly helps for those times when I need to estimate.
@CamandJarvis I am SO very sorry. Glad to hear you are ok. While I was scrambling to pack, I was hearing something odd on the news, but did not catch the story. How awful! I will certainly have your community in my prayers.4 -

".6/29 DNW - 9.23 miles walked yesterday, it was supposed to be a rest day before DH ran the 25k run around Sheffield today! We walked to a local town for their Open Garden event & managed to get around 28 of the 30 gardens, but Wirksworth is built on a hill, so as well as the distance there were lots of statues and hill walking between the gardens!!

6/30 DNW - 8.67 miles walked. DH did finish his 25k run, but really suffered over the last stretch, Sheffield is surrounded by 7 hills & the trail run was up and down these hills around the city, he could barely walk when he finished; the course is brutal! And it was hot! My miles were clocked up walking from the start across the city to meet him halfway with jelly babies & water and then back to see him finish, oh & did mention our DD did it too? So proud of them both. DH is suffering this morning.
7/1 DNW - a very gentle 8.85 miles walked yesterday all on the flat as a recovery for DH, he's more or less fully recovered today. Moving up to Harrogate today for the second part of our holiday.7/2 DNW - 6.15 miles walked yesterday, more purposefully now DH is recovered. And what a change to the weather! Monday 30 degrees C, this morning 18, only 91 miles further north, that's British weather for you!!! 😁
7/3 DNW - 6.04 miles walked. Day started rainy, so we went to do the food shopping for the rest of the week & then drove an hour to Keighley to a NT property & bonus, it was lovely and sunny there👏.

7/9:7/5: yesterday's bump from 7/3 party resolved itself, and the big NSV: I made it through Friday night at DD's house eating better! I brought a giant bowl of fresh veggies and hummus, and only ate a couple more high-calorie snacks. That's the first time in a very long time I was down on Sat morning, so that's a big "win" for me! Great time hanging out with the teen women:-)
DB is much improved- still in the hospital, but he's more comfortable and able to eat. Fingers crossed that he has some ease now. Thank you to all for your prayers ♥️

@Chapter_3 and @SModa61 I wish I had more counter space. Thanks for the insight. Portion control is one of my problems. Yesterday I only had one portion of each thing, but there were a lot of "things" and size does matter.

Happy to be starting a new ten days. These will be my last ten days before my birthday, when I will be firmly ensconced in the upper 60’s. (yes I know, I am already in my upper 60’s)This round will have Independence Day along with traditional get-togethers. DD and her boyfriend will join us for a couple days so our whole family will be together for some parade, cookout and fireworks. My grands LOVE their aunt and “uncle” from out of town.
Without the goals above yesterday, my calories would be in a galaxy far far away, and I would have just stayed inside without getting a nice long walk done.

I could get into this downward trend.Another hot day yesterday. Spent most of it with DGS. Some of that was reading at the public pool along with DW while he frolicked around making new friends and using the water slides.
Another walk before dark saved the day. I LOVE the long days of summer. I capped the day with a game of Gin Rummy with DW where she came from WAY behind to beat me. We just score wins and not all the other fluff that true Gin players do. I am ahead for 2025, 12 games to 11.

Started up a small group bible study yesterday. It will go for 6 weeks with a couple week break in the middle. Good friends. Of course I brought Dunkin Munchkins and ate about 8 of them myself. I didn’t know they were 55-60 calories a pop, and I forgot to log them until this morning. I wondered how my CI could be so low yet I add almost half a pound. Mis-logging, that’s how. Thankfully I was still on target.One of my problems is mis-logging. Either I totally forget something, or I tell myself a little white-lie about the probable calorie count or quantity, or I just don’t know the actual quantity. (I don’t want a food scale on the counter) It might be helpful to log as I go without saving the reckoning until the end of the day.

Missed the target by a bunch. Total weakness yet the scale did not tattle on me. Probably a penalty tomorrow. I should control myself today since Friday will be a food fest.I will have something removed by my dermatologist today. Not enough to show up on the scale tomorrow. HA!

Lots of self-control yesterday. Excellent exercise (18 mile bike ride plus lawn mowing) and good food choices.Feeling like I am on a roll, but today is a big food fest day. Happy Birthday USA! 250 Years. I am so old I remember the Bicentennial Celebration. (I don’t remember the signing of the Declaration of Independence.) I will be cooking part of the meal today. Brats and chicken on the grill and baked beans on the smoker.
DD got here last night after midnight. (I slept through it) Looking forward to hugging her when she wakes up.

Yesterday was a washout, the magnitude of which I will never know. Why? I didn’t log therefore target not visible. And I did not exercise. AND, when I stepped on the scale this morning … nothing. Dead battery I suppose. NSV: I had the courage to step on the scale after a day with three big meals.Leftovers loom in the fridge.
I had a wonderful time with family which was not a washout. DW made my traditional Birthday Blueberry Pie. She has been doing this for decades.
