Got a question: Like tonight I'll prepare dinner but if Colby isn't finished working, I'd like to leave their dinners in the refrigerator. There's just so much room.
Anybody have an idea how I can stack the dinners? Are there some sort of "shelves" I can use. I have some for my plates, the dinner plates on the bottom, the next level has the salad plates, then the dessert plates are on top. I'd like to do something like this in the refrigerator but don't know how

Hello all,
Heather is right about exercising first thing, so I am dressed and ready to do the workout.
I am getting the pre-headache warning. So, I took time to do my sinus wash and nasal sprays. Now I will do my essential oils and meds to ward it off. I'd better take my allergy meds too. It may seem weird, but the essential oils are so soothing. I am happy I tried the Plant Guru. The one for pain helps the back of my neck and my hip. (I believe I have an arthritic hip, sciatica, and a ruptured disc.) I have a mixture for deep muscle pain and one for headache. I have a migraine bag with things that work. I have a case with my as-needed medication. I am the go-to medical person at work. I have Zofran, Sudafed, Tylenol, Motrin, Gas-X, Tums, Aleve, my muscle relaxer (which I take at work), Mucinex, Pepcid, Prilosec, and more. I use it for travel too. I leave my locker unlocked, so if someone needs something, they can just grab it, like my heater, plate, cutlery, pens, dental floss, and soap. Twelve hours is a long time without essentials. If I get puked on or peed on, I have extra underwear and a change of scrubs. I try to be prepared. Well, I'd better get to my Step Aerobics.
Michelle, does the lady who is trying to learn English work at BK? Haven't heard you speak of her in a while.
Lanette, I do bring frozen dinners to work. They are quick and easy. I do cook fresh on days off. I get the Healthy Choice meals or Kroger's salad. The Healthy Choice has been 3-4 dollars, which is cheaper than cafeteria food.
I learn so much from you all.
Chow for now.

OMGosh, I sat in July for three days before I realized it was was August! Good Lord wake me up!
HEY ALL! I think I've read everything.
Congrats, sorry, well done, bummer, happy, YAY, and all that jazz. Think I've covered everyone. smdangh. 🙄😏🙃
Nothing new in this world. Three weeks-ish of summer vacation left and typical… I have no idea where my desk is at the DO. Oh well. Haven't heard if they're planning a para training for my first day. (which is generally the day that they do that training on workshop week) So, I'll sit here, enjoying my last, exactly 28 days (including weekends) and let them figure it out. Since they didn't allow me ANY time to get ready for the new year, there IS nothing ready for the new year, including new logs. That outta be fun when people start asking for the logs so they can hit the ground running and I have to say, "yeah, not done yet bc bosses wouldn't let me work the last day of school or any days over the summer… SORRY" (not really) SO thrilled that this is my last year. Really am looking forward to chucking all of this BS in 179 working days and letting them figure out that I did a boatload of stuff that I NEVER got paid for.
Have a GREAT Tuesday and rest of the week if I don't speak up again.
Love and Blessings

Hey, kids…
Finished up the piece I was working on yesterday, and now I'm going in and out moving the sprinkler every 15 minutes in the front yard. Already watered Corey's garden. This way I get a lot of steps in, and conserves some water. I set a timer on my phone to remind me to go back out and change it. I can stay inside in the cool, so I don't get too hot - it's already 85 and going up fast. This week it's supposed to top out in the mid-90s, (35C) but it feels brutally hot.
Got my laundry out early - the vertigo and hanging things on a clothesline do not mix very well, unfortunately. Spent a lot of time clutching the lines and getting my eyeballs to stop rattling. Annoying. Getting them down off the line later can mostly be done by touch, I don't have to look up, and that helps a lot.
I do still dry a lot of things in the dryer. I like the clothes that touch my skin to be soft, like socks and undies such. The rest go on the line. I know it's hard on a lot of you, but a sun-dried towel feels absolutely wonderful to me. They're so much more absorbent than towels where someone uses the liquid fabric softeners. My daughter, bless her, uses Downy, and it feels like her towels have been buttered. Erk.
Anyway… back in from the next to last sprinkler set - and I need to put some lunch together! No idea what it will be, and really need to start looking at what's for dinner, as Corey and I will decide during his lunchtime call, so I can get things out to thaw if they're frozen.
Which reminds me - chicken breast recipe
The chicken breast recipe worked very well for the very large chicken breast and not well at all for the thinner one, so it's going to have to be adjusted for those. In a cast iron pan, with a small amount of olive oil, sear one side of a chicken breast with whatever spices you want on it for exactly five minutes, then flip and let the second side sear for three. Pour one cup of broth in immediately while that one's cooking, and then at the three minute mark, cover with a lid, pull off the heat and allow the liquid and the heat in the pan to finish cooking it for 15 minutes. Do not take the cover off.
The thinner breast, probably as thick as my thumb, got overcooked, was dry. The quite large one, probably 2 and a half or more inches thick at the thickest part, was perfectly cooked, just at the safe temperature and tasty, between the spices and the chicken broth. So the times would have to be adjusted for thin ones, but work well for thick ones.
Corey added just a tiny bit of flour mixed in water to the broth in the pan and it made a very nice gravy, as well.
And there, have gone out to set that last 15-minute timer, now I'm back.
Heather - I don't cook much at all, but agree with pretty much everything you said. I just got sick of it after 27 years with the ex, who never picked up a pan in the kitchen. Corey, on the other hand, is a wonderful cook, and the only issue is getting him to cook the same thing twice. He always thinks he can make something better. Sometimes he's right. Sometimes, he is not. 🥰 Hope you do get to see your brother soon.
Later, my dears,

Re: PT
For general exercise, I think book or online instructions are great. But when you have an issue, rehabilitation from surgery or an injury, I think PTs are warranted. I've gone just twice. The first time with a running hip injury that ended up as bursitis. The PT was fantastic. Did some TENS kind of procedure and walked me through exercises. I probably saw her six times, and when my hips start feeling wonky, I remember to do her prescribed exercises.
I saw a PT after my mastectomy to get full range of my left arm back, to beat off lymphoedema, and to work through scar tissue. She was fantastic. I haven't had any lymphoedema issues, and have full use of my arm, in range and strength.
As we get older, I think following through with recommended PT is critical. My mother-in-law wouldn't do it because "it hurt." The doctor told her if she didn't follow through she would become immobile. She became immobile. My ex father-in-law fell and broke his hip a couple years back and refused to follow through with PT because "she doesn't know what she's talking about." A year after the fall, he was no longer mobile, had to go into assisted living, and died almost a year to the day after having to leave his home.
So keep those PT appointments, ladies, even when doing so is physically painful. It does get better, and it is worth it in the end.

So here's the deal, I take my injection on Thursdays, feel sore and achy on Friday's, then weekend feeling better. Then constipation on Sundays and Monday, then try to get over that the rest of the week. Well that's how my life has been going the last two weeks anyways. So the nice thing about logging your food is that you can check if its food related. So on July 25th, I had two shrimp w/ cocktail sauce for lunch and dinner was steak and other stuff. That started constipation situation #1. Then on August 2nd I had steak for dinner and that started constipation #2! What is Rebecca learning from all this! Steak is the enemy!! I will have to delete that from my protein choices! Yesterday I moaned and groaned all day, eating prunes, a bite or two of granola in almond milk, then settled on chicken broth. Napped then dealt with myself,(had a BM) so I was really quite hungry afterwards. I had more chicken stock (it was the salt content that was appealing I suppose) and then had a Lenders onion bagel toasted with a T of Tillamook butter on it, because it sounded so good! Granted it was my first taste of a real bread product since May, so that hit my belly like a ton of bricks....🙄. Abdominal pain, akin to when I had gallbladder pain! Nothing like crying on the toilet. I took 2 Pepto Bismol and went to bed at 7:30 pm. My body settled down so I could sleep. Sunday night was up every 1 to 2 hours hoping I would go.
So way took much info, but my belly has settled down, I feel totally empty. Had a bm this morning. Everything fine. What should my day look like food wise? Should I just stick to chicken stock and maybe a small turkey sandwich? I'm kind of nervous of starting on this rollercoaster of things? I have made a doctors appt for this month, but I think I have figured out what the problems are.

Mo - Healthy Choice are perfect for you to take to work. I'm glad you mentioned them. I had forgotten about Healthy Choice - currently $2.77 to $3.42 at my Walmart. Amy's are $5.92- they are the ones I used to get them for $3.00 at Grocery Outlet 😥. Most Lean Cuisines are $3.47. I see there are some lower carb meals with plenty of veggies I'd be interested in. I'll grab a couple next time I'm at the store, they'd be great for when it's too hot to cook or just a change. I remember I'd put a lot of salad greens in a big bowl then dump the whole Lean Cuisine right over them. 😁
Lisa - that's a great chicken breast recipe. Bet it stays nice and moist. I copied it into my recipe folder. UGH that heat! It's supposed to hit 80F here today. 95 on Monday. I'll drag out the carpet shampooer.
This morning I went through my coats and jackets and started another pile for the charity shop. Found a brand new winter coat of DH's in there too! Unfortunately I'm at the stage where 5# gained or lost affects the fit of the coat or jacket around my midsection. So I'm still at the "2-size wardrobe" stage.
I also ordered a Sherpa fleece jacket from Christopher and Banks yesterday. Big sale. We had a store locally where I shopped a lot that closed during the pandemic. 😥They carried size 14W which was perfect for tops and jeans that fit perfectly since I'm long waisted. I'm anxious to see what this little jacket will be like. I love Sherpa fleece garments because they are a touch warmer. And I prefer buttons/snaps over zippers on coats and jackets. Sometimes those are hard to find.
Margaret - where do you shop for clothes? You're tall like me too.
Rita - I thought that was interesting what your doc said about not drinking too much water. I guess electrolytes can get out of balance.
Flea - I agree 100% about the PT. So glad you went after your surgery! After my mom broke her hip, the doc had a physical therapist come to the house to work with her. Same thing - mom complained "it hurt!". So my dad didn't allow them in the house anymore. I remember when I'd go back to visit, I'd make her get up and walk around the kitchen table. Dad could have done that too, but he didn't. She soon ended up in a hospital bed. Another reason to keep exercising.
Rebecca - sorry you are having GI issues, does not sound like fun. I guess with these drugs, your GI system is really slowed down so you don't get hungry. I remember when I was going to WW, they advised that something like a tsp of olive oil was good to keep things greased up if constipated. Yes, see what your doctor says.
I haven't seen the fawns yet this morning and apples under the tree haven't been touched yet. There wasn't much for them to eat here anymore other than apples. I opened the big gate by the shop yesterday afternoon and hopefully mommy lured them out into forest land.
Did some weed eating for about 10 minutes and called it good. Crossing fingers rain will be blowing in tonight.

Mo – if I don’t exercise first thing in the morning, it doesn’t get done. The only exception is that on days that I work, I will take a walk around the block or down to Food Lion or the dollar store. But now that Ganon is here, I won’t be walking to FL or the dollar store. He just gets too anxious at traffic. As far as the lady who didn’t speak English at BK, one day they asked her for some paperwork and there was a problem with her Social Security number. The next day she didn’t have a babysitter. Hasn’t been around since. I am a bit surprised that they didn’t ask for her Social before letting her start work.
Allie – take care of yourself
Carla – so great to see you
Lisa – how I miss my clothesline. The HOA around here doesn’t want them. Actually, the HOA in our previous house didn’t either. I put just about everything out on the line except for towels and Vince’s work shirts. How I love the smell of sun-drenched sheets!
Rebecca – I do have microwaveable dishes that have lids. I know that they’d never go for microwaving the food in those dishes, but it can just as easily be put on a plate right before you put it in the microwave. That’s what I did tonight and what I’ll probably continue to do.
Flea – my MIL was the same way about PT. She wouldn’t do it for her shoulder because “it hurt”. It just got worse.

Oh my, some of ya'll really busy in here. I will be a casual lurker I suspect. Anxiety overload when I see the little bell with a bunch of comments that are all over the place.
Someone somewhere in the thread asked me what I go by, my name is actually Sharon and thank you for asking.
Personally, for me, the MFP app is overload in and of itself. I had no idea I actually started the app in 2019, but I guess with covid, retirement, life, etc…. I ignored it and started it again a year ago, and left it, again, and have been TRYING to log food for the last 2 weeks.
Someone suggested using a pool for some PT, which is my true go to, but its more stretching than anything else. I did also join another group in the MFP app, but appears I may be trying to run, before I can walk (quite literally). I wanted to try to figure out how to set my watch to track my steps, since I am not positive it does it for me. I got side tracked and never got back to it last night. I just realized, it's 3pm and my watch is still in the bedroom on the charger. Oh well, my pool looks great at least.
I need to clear out these 11 bell messages that are stressing me and hope I have time to get my watch set correctly (assuming it isn't, which I am not positive its not). SO will be home before I know it and time for dinner.
TTFN!

Forgot to say, in my cooking endeavours, I don't have to do the washing up, or clean up the kitchen. John does all that. So I can make a mess and not worry. Ready meals might look appealing if I had to wash up!!! I can just do the creative bits and let him do the hard work. He also makes the drinks, apart from the first one in the morning, and makes cooked fruit for dessert. Today was apricots. :-) I would definitely choose less messy dishes if I were on my own.

Was pretty blue after yesterday’s DDS appointment. The good news is that bone under implants is fine. The bad news is that the cracked tooth may require a crown ($1900 total), there is another tooth with a suspected abscess under an old root canal, and he still wants to fill/crown another one we’ve been “watching” for more than a year. Requested an appointment with the Grants Pass endodontist. $455 for eval and 3 D X-rays. Treatment est fm $2300 to $2800. If they can fix ok, but if not will have them take it. It’s far enough back can live without it. Was hoping to have CareCredit paid off this year but with crown and unknown endodontist expense will be making payments at least til July 2026. Will ask DDS Monday if can put off til next year. This morning I felt a little more hopeful, grateful we have CareCredit, grateful I’m still moving around and not breathing dirt. Still a little hard to be grateful for the DDS tho’ ;{
Tina so sorry to hear about your excruciating back and foot pain. Hope you figure it out quickly and it’s a relatively easy fix (like sliding a sheet of plywood under your mattress)…
Flea loved hearing about your Ashland activities. You were only 3 hrs away from us… ;) Everything you said about PT, just absolutely every word.
Lanette got size 3 little kid, but should perhaps have ordered 4 big kid. Can almost feel toes touch the front of the boot. The handles make it really easy to pull on. Wanted something cheerful and fell for the pink glitter ;) They don’t feel squishy/foamy as I had in mind when thinking Crocs, and when I first pulled them on I felt like I was tilting forward a bit… but they make me smile just like my new stainless steel hose (thanks again Barbie!). Our weekend forecast has scaled way back to normal, morning radio announcer thought the forecaster was chewing something “interesting.” We’re just grateful,,, ;} You could send us your rain, though, cistern is low, pump is bringing up sediment. We’re back to careful dishwashing/rinsing, pinot poudoux either showering or washing clothes every other day and using the dogs water to keep the plants alive til Ocober… maybe…
Rebecca thanks! My favorite Fage non-fat Greek is similar @ 90 cals for 18 g protein w /0 g sugar ;}
Pip Miss EM is one lucky pup!
Heather good on John for figuring out and supplying the needed brute force. Hope the antibiotics do the trick and right away!
Lisa Ginny’s crockpot balsamic chicken always comes out moist for me… also this recipe:
They give good hints about how to treat skinless chicken breasts, to use paprika/sugar in the rub to mimic browning, etc.
Hera trying to keep up with this thread can be overwhelming. IMHO just skim, look at what interests you and go back to your life. 13 hours with a 3 year old would kill me. The thing with PT or any kind of exercise consistency, pain is a great motivator for me. When I slack, it hurts more. When I do it, it hurts less. Your results may vary ;}
Allie does Sean qualify for Medicaid?
Michele for me PT exercises are specifically targeted to my problem areas (knees, hips, shoulders). I still try to get general activity in most days, walking, line dancing or chair yoga. Like Machka and others have said, the therapist observes you and tests you with range of motion, etc. S/he can see things we can’t ourselves and has the training and knowledge to prescribe correct exercises and stretches. Then, as Machka said, off you go home and do them yourself. For my shoulder, I went to PT appointments twice a week for two months and avoided shoulder surgery, an outcome devoutly to be desired ;}
Machka hope that ugly headed monster is well and truly conquered.
Margaret, agree the titer tests are way more expensive than vaccines and that vets generally recommend the vaccines, sometimes too thoughtlessly. DrewB is one lucky pup to have your excellent care.
Mo sure hope you can ward off that headache, sounds awful.
Carla 179 days but who’s counting? Congrats!
Rebecca good luck figuring out your tummy’s enemy no. 1. With me it’s too much bread, and/or too much red meat at once. I can tolerate one slice of sourdough but not two… etc.

Nice to meet you Sharon, I am Rebecca 🙋. No need to answer every one that posts to you. You are in the drivers seat of how you communicate on here.👍🏼 Regarding logging food. I pretty much have a list of proteins, carbs, fruit and veggies, plus snacks and drinks I like. Once I have logged them in once then its a matter of clicking the boxes next to the food. I usually take a look in the fridge, freezer and pantry so I know what I should eat up. Then while sipping my morning coffee I log for the day. For me, its the one thing I can control in my life. I have two active duty sailors, grandkids that are 5+ hours away that I wished I saw more often, but those are things out of my control. So logging to me is one way to know that thru everything else, I am eating well. I am also learning that life sometimes isn't about making the My fitness pal pie chart all pretty and the percentages just right. A good day might just be chicken broth and lots of rest. The best part of it all is you're in control. You eat to live, not live to eat.💖👍🏼

Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD,
Do you buy the large container of Fage' or the individual cups? I sometimes wonder which is more economical. Sometimes I want a couple spoonfuls, or other times I wish there was more in the dang cup! Wondering if buying the big container would have more waste? Can you freeze yogurt in an ice cube tray? The plain fage' is nice as a sour cream substitute! I have put it on potatoes, in pasta, and on tacos.

Michele NC,
Can you use those freestanding wooden clothes drying things? Like a wooden lattice thing that opens up.
I have olive oil in my chicken broth (I need the sheen and it makes it richer tasting). I am feeling better today. I made doc and nutritionist appt but both are in the latter part of September. I will stay away from shrimp, steak and protein shakes for a bit. I will buy some Pepto Bismol chews to settle my stomach those first couple of days after injection. I have the chewable tablets but they really stain my teeth and tongue black. Don't want to deal with that weekly!

don't his jeans get stiff drying them on the line??
I remember back home for a while we dried everything on the line on the patio-I HATED the feel of the towels and jeans- so stiff and itchy!
I am super, super picky about the way clothes feel. I actually feel clothes before really looking at them when I buy them. All tags are removed when I get them if the tag will touch my skin. Ruined many shirts as a kid cutting them out. Never wore a sweater without a cotton shirt under it, still dont. Even my leggings have to be a certain type. Lucky for me, my favorite ones are super cheap at Walmart or I get some at garage sales, like the lululemon leggings I got for $2-super comfy.3 -

thank you. My sister had an appointment but had to cancel as that was the day she was readmitted to the hospital. She will get all the pro's and con's about surgery when she does see that doctor.
We will be going to the lawyer to do our trust as soon as dh's mom's is finalized. We are just waiting for the lawyer to let us know when the paperwork on the house is ready for him to sign.
We did a will many years ago but need to update everything. It was way back, before our son was born. Had my niece as benifactor- need to change that for sure- haven't heard from her in a few years. Need everything to go to son.Getting ready to go do two more quick merchandising jobs- did two yesterday. The pay isn't great but, two shops will pay for a month of Zumba class. They each take about 10 min this rotation which is great. Half the work that it used to be.
This is my last week with Ezie before school starts back up- summer sure went by fast. I will be out walking the wetlands next week.
Wore my ankle weights during zumba last night- need to wear different socks so they don't rub on my ankles. They were the perfect weight. I will wear them each class- except aqua zumba ;) I will wear my weighted vest when I walk.
My doctor said doing this will help strengthen my bones and also help with weight loss.
I hope so.
I have our 45yr class reunion in just 2 months.Worked in the garden today- got more catnip cut and put in the dryer. I need to bag up the batch that I took out of the dryer-it is laying on a blanket on the front lawn-

Hello my friends!
Well I had a grand time at the dinner theater Saturday night, but we were up past midnight. I was awake again at five. So one very short night and I am still recovering! At least I got the groceries done today. But I took a break from my rowing and stationary bike. Maybe tomorrow I can get back to my routine. Dad has a medical appointment but I can work around that
I think that some people can tell how much exercise a sore joint needs, and some of us really need the guidance of PT. I can look up exercises online, but I'm really bad at knowing how much to do. They say listen to your body, but mine tells lies. I tend to hurt the day after, which is too late to stop.
So I hope to get back to answering tomorrow.
May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

I'm in the middle of a PT regimen now, and was, in all honesty, reluctant to go. But with the VA - if they're going to pay for it, you go. They have moved me from a few simple movements with my shoulder to lifting weight this week, and I would not have done this on my own.
But my lovely little bearded metrosexual young men smile at me with their incredibly white teeth and push me hard twice a week… and further than I would have ever taken myself. I would not have believed that in three weeks, with the damage done to my rotator cuff, that I would be able to lift weights, but I am, and recovering quickly each time.
Which reminds me, I need to go do my homework with that…
Later, mah darlings,

Went to ceramics tonight and picked up my shell
Sharon – I find stretching in the pool much better. I can do a lot more
Had the dermatologist appt. Everything fine. He wants to see me in April since I love to be in the sun so much. I guess this gives him a good baseline.
Misting out still and gloomy so only took Ganon for a short walk. Don’t know why, but my pedometer didn’t register any steps since this morning, not our first walk, not this walk – nothing
debbie - I never cut the tags out of my shirts. What I do is I put a SMALL piece of the stitch witchery underneath it then just steam it. The tag is still in the shirt (with whatever directions it may have) but I don’t feel it. I, too, like to feel the clothing before I buy. That’s another reason I’m not fond of buying clothing online.
Want to take a shower and find out from Jess what she’d like to make for dinner tomorrow so I can get the ingredients.
