OCTOBER CHALLENGE -- 10,000 STEPS A DAY
Replies

Sadly, I dropped my pedometer just the wrong way on the sidewalk and killed it.
So I regretfully resign and wish everyone well!0 -
Walked another 2 miles (in the rain) with my dogs this evening. That's 4 miles today without a pedometer. Will call it something close to 10,000 steps and will call it a day for the October challenge.0

I haven't been able to start the challenge yet because I'm recovering from surgery at my mom's and my pedometer is somewhere at home and my fiance can't find it. Hopefully I'll be home tomorrow so I can start Thursday.
You're all doing a fabulous job!0 -

If you go back to the first post, the instructions are there. Basically, just wear a pedometer, count your steps and let us know every day. Most important, have fun!!0 -
10/3 -- 10,352. Had to do about 8000 steps of mall walking this evening to get it in but I got 'er done.0

9/30 - 13.371 (test run)
10/1 - 3576 steps
10/2 - I didn't do enough walking to count, I spent the day cleaning
10/3 - 10,766 steps, 412 cal., 3.45 miles (took a lot of creative walking at home but I did it with a combo of walking while folding clothes, laps around the house, and taking the long way to go do something or walking in between activities)0 -
Forgot my pedometer this morning Will track 2moro!! Good luck everyone0

I'm struggling on work days too. Especially with soccer games at night. I have been walking at lunch, but still not getting quite there. How silly will we look marching in place at our desks????0 -

I have done some marching at my desk but I do not share an office so I do not think anyone has seen me.0 -

I hear ya. Typing all day long won't get the steps in. My hours are somewhat flexible, as I work at home, so if I can start early enough in the morning I can get a good walk in.0 -
10/4 -- 7555 steps. Didn't wake up early enough to get a long walk in and had a stressful day at work with one computer problem after another, so I'm calling it a day and vegging in front of the TV.0

Does anyone know why your steps don't match your calorie burn every day? Like having X # of steps = X calories but the next day it's different. Can a pedometer count your speed or something?0
-
10/05/11 - 5,788 I sit at a desk all day at both jobs! I will have to really up it this weekend!0
-
10/5 -- 11,180 today0
-
Great! I had too much work to do, it rained, and the dog had another appointment at the vet. I did manage to take the dogs for a two miler this evening, so I'll estimate 5000 today. Hope to be back on the program tomorrow.0
