@dawnbgethealthy Happy Birthday! That trip looked amazing! What a gorgeous place.
I was still feeling sleep deprived yesterday. I did a 20-minute dance workout followed by a 35-minute Zone 2 ride on Zwift. It was pretty flat terrain, and that suited me fine yesterday. I did a 5-minute cooldown. This was followed by a couch potato evening (no snacks).
I could still see that I was retaining lots of fluid from the trip, so I had a fruit and veggie laden dinner. My body wanted greeeeeens and berriesβit hit the spot. The scale gave me a happy number today.
I am dying to get out of the 150's. Will I stay motivated this coming week? Will I keep my food and exercise numbers in the green?

@Jon4189 , thanks! I am hoping it will help with balance issues I have developed with age. I can still ride a bike, but it's gotten a little harder than it used to be. Its still fun, though. π (OMG....that jersey.....awesome!)
Day 22β09/13β 161.6 - Slept through breakfast so I had a grilled ham and cheese for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet. Want to get a bike ride in today.
Day 23β09/14β 161.4 - Did get a short bike ride in after it took me awhile to attach the new phone holder to the handlebar....and set the bike up, unfolding the parts. But I will be riding longer next time. I have to practice not only getting used to handling it, but becoming faster at the set up. It runs well, though. They were setting up for a wedding at the park, so I didn't hang around.
Had Siggi's for breakfast.....may have soup for dinner. Not sure what I will be in the mood for. But, ok....I will own it. I had a slice of Wegman's Ultimate White Cake. I haven't had that in over a year. It's a one and done. Which is why dinner will be conservative.

QUESTION : this plan I'm on says to start the day with small amt of either apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. In the past the vinegar has caused canker sores, so used lemon juice. Now aware of canker sores again. Any suggestions what would work instead?

@Lynn__W Perhaps you can make sure you are diluting it very well and try using a straw. This will also help protect your teeth.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We canβt control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

Day 29β09/20β 184.4 β (Trend Weight: 184.9) Iβm happy to see a drop but donβt know if I believe it for two reasons. #1- my scale battery died (rechargeable) and I had to find a low to ground plug to plug it in while weighing. That put the scale in a completely different spot. #2- my dinner was downright STUPID yesterday in every possible way. I ate it 5 hours early and it was 3 McDonaldβs pies (2 pumpkin crΓ¨me and 1 apple). Thank you to my 98 pound size triple zero DD who left them out for me. My fault for caving, I know! I know! In her defense, I donβt think she expected me to eat all 3 at once or use them as a meal replacement! Anyway, I Starved for the rest of the day and caved at night for too many βhealthyβ snacks putting me way over on calories and carbs. Weβll see what the scale tomorrow brings.

I'm pretty sure apple cider vinegar and lemon juice for weight loss has been debunked.
My suggestion: Plain water.

Day 29β09/20β 139 lb. Forgot to mention last Monday the plaster cast was removed from my arm/wrist. Now I have a light vinyl one, which I can remove when showering - Yay! now I can shower by myself. Have to do exercises every 2 hours, no problems with that so far.

Hello Monday, why do Monday's come around so quickly but leave so slowly?!? I am up again today, I suspect it's from the knee and the Alive I am taking, no worries I am being good, it will go down again! I did get out on a bike ride yesterday, the knee was fine, but for walking and stairs it is not as happy. But it is healing slowly!
I'm 57 years old, 6'2", and my goal for this 100-day challenge is to reach 178 lbs. I started at 4/11/2025 at ~217.

I needed today's scale drop from a psychological perspective.
Good day yesterday - stayed within my target IN calories. Gave the dog a full groom that took 3.5 hours, walked the dog and did yoga.
I haven't set a specific week 5 goal yet. Focus on staying within IN calorie target of 1770 and return to pre-camping weight in the 140.Xs. I'm thinking it will take me at least a week maybe two.

@jon4149 I feel badly saying this, but it kind of makes me feel relieved to see your scale number going up a little the last few days. You've been so consistent with steady losses, while the rest of us seem to go up and down all the time. I was starting to think you were some kind of super human. It is good to know that you are regular human like the rest of us. We all know it will come back down as soon as your knee fully recovers and you are back to your normal caloric burn. You've lost 27lbs in 5 months! Such a great success and an inspiration!

Yesterday was very active with lots of steps, stairs and fresh air. I ate a good meal before we got out and about, so I was able to resist the amazing downtown eateries. Ate well when we got home. It all worked out on that fun Sunday outing.

Somehow I really screwed up this weekβ¦.had the wrong dates. I admit I was preoccupied with something, so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. π
Day 22β09/20β 161.6 - Slept through breakfast so I had a grilled ham and cheese for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet. Want to get a bike ride in today.
Day 23β09/21β 161.4 - Did get a short bike ride in after it took me awhile to attach the new phone holder to the handlebar....and set the bike up, unfolding the parts. But I will be riding longer next time. I have to practice not only getting used to handling it, but becoming faster at the set up. It runs well, though. They were setting up for a wedding at the park, so I didn't hang around.
Had Siggi's for breakfast.....may have soup for dinner. Not sure what I will be in the mood for. But, ok....I will own it. I had a slice of Wegman's Ultimate White Cake. I haven't had that in over a year. It's a one and done. Which is why dinner will be conservative.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We canβt control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. A couple of weeks ago I joined a local book club through our public library. I only had a couple of weeks to get through the book, but I managed and really enjoyed it. Tonight is the first meeting where I will meet the other members. Iβm very nervous. Meeting new people and friends is something Iβve found to be a bit difficult as Iβve gotten older. Oh, the free-spirited days of being a trustworthy child and young adult who was not so self-conscious! Trying hard to stay engaged and putting myself out there in my retirement! I sure do miss my husband who is in Heaven now.

So I am a lemon water drinker.
Plain water, lots of it, removes electrolytes. Adding lemon gives electrolytes for hydration.
When at work we get lemons by the case. In the morning I put on the kettle, squish 1/4 or 1/2 of a lemon in a glass, add mint if I still have it growing, then pour over the boiling water and drink it when it is cool.
Traveling I have one of those little lemon squeezy things which is going to last me the rest of my trip.
I don't like vinegar, but when at a friends house years ago she offered me a shot glass of cider vinegar to accompany her in drinking it. Iβ¦.threw up. Yuck.

Day 29β09/20 β 136.0 - I am okay with that. So that is my weight on my 65th birthday. Could be better, could be worse. What a difference at 65, hoping to poop before weighing, compared to my rockstar days. Lmao over here. I started a fire last night, the first time that I have had a woodstove/fireplace since early 1997!! Yes, I googled/youtube I specifically wanted to practice so that I could have a fire on my birthday if I wanted. I have been gathering wood since Wednesday. This morningβ¦.it was 1c, weather network said "feels like" -1c There are 2 little heaters here (3 season cottage) but I did start a small fire this morning to take the chill off. Today will be indulgent sort of. I have my mini champagnes, I have camembert, and I will be eating prawns for dinner : - ) Haven't had any breakfast yet, but ready to get out for a walk now that it I have had one coffee, 30 minutes of dancing (I will do more of that later, just needed to loosen up my body) and it is now 7c it was 27c here the first few days. Monday is to be raining (90% chance) and thunderstorms in the afternoon. I will make sure to bring lots of wood inside to stay dry. Totally hope that there isn't a power outage, shouldn't even put that out there lol
Day 30β09/21 β 137.2 - Although I had yummy stuff yesterday, my calories in were still only 1300 (Prawns have very little calories, and I measured the cheese and stuff. Sigh.
Tomorrow (starting tonight) will be raining 90% + risk of thunderstorms. I will make sure to have enough wood and stuff inside and dry, and bring anything in that I don't want to get wet. There will be no walking outdoors whatsoever, so I will definitely walk today, but it is only 3c right now, so maybe in a few hours.
I opened my cards and presents in the morning. I sipped my 6oz of champagne in many locations around the property in the afternoon. Here is a boatload of photos of that and my "lunch", and dinner. I had 2 rice cakes with nut butter for breakfast earlier in the day, and prawns for dinner around 7:30
Day 31β09/22 β 137.4 - 5am weigh in, so not sweating the .2 pound gain, I really felt lean today. Walking up and around and over rocks is so much funner than pounding the concrete! I kayaked yesterday and thought of you Lynn.
At 5:30am I was drinking a coffee, cueing up some workouts, it was pitch dark, but strangely warm in the cabin compared to this week. 10 minutes later the power went out! I lit a couple of candles and turned on the mobile data on my phone. First I checked the circuit breakers of course. Being so remote I was unsure if this area would get power back on. When I found the map of outages and clicked on the spot it looked like it would be back on here at 9am. It went far, right into the GTA. Of course I wanted another coffee, but no way to heat the water for my road coffee, instant. It came on around 7:30.
I was really looking forward to a rainy day, one that would have me relax inside, read and stuff, do a gazillion dance workout songs, listen to science shows.
I felt like yesterday was a turning point and today (after the power came back on), I felt like I was fully present with being here, and comfortable. I knew that it would take me awhile to wind right down, and it took Wednesday - Monday.
The rain was just intermittent, and not as the weather network had suggested. I did circles around the property many many times, went up and walked the road, all in between bursts of rain, during which I did dance workouts and read bits of the local paper.
Very good day even though it was surreal early in the morning without power in the darkness.
