Round 313
Oct 28 – Nov 6, 2025
Female, 54, 5”1’
HW: 209.5 **was higher but I just did not get on the scales.
RSW: 194.4
RGW: 192
FGW: 175
UGW: 140I am Kira, working, an empty nester, and married. I live in Edmonton, Alberta with my hubby, dog, Farley, cats Shadow and Hunter. I have tried all diets and programs out there over the years, but nothing has worked for long. Now I am working on loving life and trying to be healthier.
A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.
Phyllis DillerGoals for this round are:
- Check in every day.
- Weigh in every day.
- Get my step count to 10k daily.
10/28 – 194.4/ 4,036/19– no change today. I was thinking I would have a gain so I’m happy. Finally feeling better. Not many steps yesterday. My goal for this round is to get my step count up. I have become very sedentary again. Need more movement. Not much sleep last night watching the Blue Jays game till the bitter end. I’m feeling sorry for the fans on the east coast.
10/29 - 194.6/4,877/6 - a slight bump up but expected. Had a busy day yesterday. Happy that both the Blue Jays and Oiler's won last night.
10/30 - 194.8/5,924/26 - not liking this trend of upward movement on my weight. But I did add some more steps to my day yesterday. I ended up working the Spooktacular event for a second time (it's a fundraiser my office runs for a local foodbank).
10/31 - 193.8/4,081/17 - nice drop this morning. My step count was really low but with driving over 200km yesterday it was expected.
11/01 - 193.0/5,590/145 - a drop again today, I'll take it had a bit too much Halloween junk last night and was expecting a gain, probably tomorrow I will see it. I did get lots of active minutes yesterday going through and putting out the Halloween decorations. Today I am working an open house all afternoon so that will be on my feet. Then tonight we have a party, again on my feet outside around a big fire.
11/02 - 192.4/7,062/98 - another drop, not sure how that happened with all the Halloween candy I ate the last 2 days. I guess that I have balanced it with an increase in my steps and active minutes. Had lots of fun at the party last night, it was really fun to see some people that we haven't seen in months. Hard to watch the Jays lose but they lost in extra innings and played really awesome. The Oiler's won last night so that was good.
11/03 - 193.4/3,755/30 - a gain which was expected, we had to take the RV to our friends for storage so I drove 2 hours and snacked and didn't eat well at all.

Yesterday was not stellar—it was my weekly brunch and knitting day, and although I didn’t pig out, I did have french toast. Then DH made chili and cornbread for dinner. Oh well! Today’s another day!10/29 - DNW

A bit off the rails the past few days, hanging out at our big local dog show and not eating carefully. Walked a lot, though! I don’t have anyone to show anymore, but I had fun cheering on my friends, seeing people I haven’t seen in ages, and smooching lots of my friends’ doggers. Anyway, my trend weight hasn’t changed and I’m back on track today. I haven’t read posts, either, but will try to catch up with you all. I did look at the pictures—some great costumes out there. @Skyleen75 ! 😂🤣😂

End Round 312: 166.0
Goal Weight: 136 lbs.
10/28: 165.9 My brain initially read the scale as 156.9 and I was super excited and then was like that can't be right, it wasn't!! But still pleased with this round start. Lots to do today, first work, then music lesson for my daughter, meeting up with a friend to discuss a project we are doing together, clean the house, grocery shop for book club this week, get book club discussion questions ready, and then work on more projects for an upcoming event…and hopefully find time for a family dinner!
10/29: 165.3
10/30: 164.5
10/31: 163.8
11/1: 164.5 A little bounce up from yesterday…I was in a calorie deficit but eating patterns have been off the last two days with timing and macros - the foods I choose definitely make a difference with my body & weight loss. I'll be more focused today eating to my scheduled plan.
11/1: 164.4 Was hoping for a bigger drop today but a loss is a loss, so I’ll take it and move forward! I enjoyed an extra hour of sleep with the time change and now I'm off to enjoy my day. I should be grocery shopping and cleaning my house today but instead I'm going to have a lovely day with friends. Lots going on in the upcoming week…my daughter starts her college internship, hosting 2 friends for their birthdays (making the cakes), and a big project I’ve been working on for about 6 months goes live. Have a lovely Sunday everyone!
11/3: 164.0 Delicious family dinner last night, I typically double the recipe for whatever I make on Sundays to have extras pre-portioned and ready for quick easy dinner or lunch the rest of the week for me. I don't mind eating the same thing every night for a week but look forward to something new every Sunday. We typically only have 1 -2 meals a week when everyone is home together and I can cook.

10/28: DNW—My scale battery died and of course it wasn’t a normal battery. I’ll be up and running tomorrow.
10/29: 175.5 📉🤯So what this means is…I lost weight on vacation!!! I guess I’m not surprised, since we were getting so much activity and the food wasn’t agreeing with me. It’s kind of a shock, because that is not what used to happen on vacation. 🤣I got to start tap class up again and that felt great! I’m so happy to be back with my regular food. I mean, vacation is fun and all, but there’s no place like home. 👠👠🌈
10/30: 175.3 📉😁Back to tap 💃
10/31: 175.8 📈 🎃 I had to get up earlier today. I fully believe that I would have weighed less if I had slept in and weighed another hour or two later.
11/1: 175.0 📉🙌This is my goal for the round! 🤯One thing I know, I’m either less hungry all the time now and/or I’m getting better at living with my hunger feeling for a while. In the past, if I felt a little hunger, I ate some tortilla chips to get me through to the next meal. Granted, I was having difficulty figuring out what to eat and how to live with my Celiac diagnosis. Then my bookclub discussed THE COMFORT CRISIS by Michael Easter. This was a very thought-provoking read that pointed out how we seek comfort too much to our detriment, and he talked about the obesity crisis and our inability to deal with being uncomfortable (hungry).
11/2: 174.2 📉🫢I didn’t expect this loss today either. I’m kind of thinking that my body decided I’m not in starvation so it adjusted to what I am eating and upped my metabolism. I was a plateau for quite a while and frustrated. Being patient paid off…I guess. Who knows? 🤷♀️
Yesterday, the only thing we had left for dinner was a chef salad sans eggs & cheese. I typically bake or grill about 5 lbs of chicken at a time and freeze them individually. This allows me to pull them out one at a time—already cooked and rearin’ to go. It also wasn’t my usual throw-some-salad-mix-on-a-plate-with-dressing kind of salad. This had dried cranberries and chopped almonds! Other colorful veggies too. Oh yeah…sooooo yummy! 😋I even had enough calories left for a cupcake, so I had one!!! Know what? It wasn’t as good as I remembered. Of course, it wasn’t chocolate, so we’ll see when I get to have a chocolate one.
11/3: 174.6 📈😊Still under my round goal. No exercise yesterday. We almost ordered Mexican takeout last night and decided last minute to pick up a Rotisserie chicken. Good call! Today will be busy with lessons. Hope I get some time to tap. 💃
@Jane022896 I like to do the same thing on Sundays (doubling the meal batch). I’m so excited that soup season is finally hear. That’s the easiest thing to freeze. I get so happy when I build up about 4 or 5 frozen dishes to rotate. I used to do lasagna, but now that I’m counting calories, I’m going to have to find a much lighter recipe!
@musicsax 12 -mile walk?!? 😱Isn’t that a half marathon? How long did that take? You are my inspiration!!!
@UTMom81 You are so right . Get that candy out of the house!!! I used to by the worst candy for Halloween just so I wouldn’t eat it. If it’s there, I. WILL. EAT. IT!!! Fortunately, I think your recent gain is very temporary. Get back in the ring! 🥊You got this!!!
@Skyleen75 You are on a roll, Lady!!! 🎉
@deepwoodslady Love that graph !!! 💙
@sherinshajan Nothing like a health scare to smack you into shape ! Congrats on the triglyceride drop!!! NSV!!! 🙌
@Chapter_3 Love, love, love the pics!!! 🍁🧡Also, love the meme!! Inspirational!

11/01-183.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 184.1)
11/02 – 183.0 ↔️ (Trend Weight – 184.1) I made a lousy choice for dinner last night. Just because it fits into my calorie goal doesn’t mean it conducive to weight loss. I must remember that the wrong ACTUAL food choices (carbs, starches) that raise my blood sugars physically and scientifically trigger extreme hunger and extreme cravings as my body tries to “fix” things. I managed to get through it (this time) but things would be much easier if I would just stick to approved foods. It’s just so hard to stay away from certain things common and approved for other non-diabetic people. A sandwich without bread just isn’t filling! And sometimes I’m hyper-focused on heart health (saturated fat etc) and miss the big picture in my diabetes planning. Weight remained steady today but I must stay focused.
🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/03-182.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 183.9) There are hard days and easy days which I can’t always understand (or explain). Yesterday was an easy day. Not a lot of hunger. I worked for several hours outside raking, hauling and burning leaves so I did get some extra calorie burn in too. Tomorrow I travel for medical appointment so I’m glad I’m on good footing before the trip. There will be lots of sitting and a restaurant (or two). I will try to keep my head on my shoulders and stay away from desserts and extras.

This is my first time joining the challenge! Goal weight is 125 lbs. Trying to catch the upward creep before it gets too bad! Goal is to track food daily and weigh daily-ish. I am working out a lot, so just starting by tracking to get an idea of what my calorie range should be.

10/28—155.8 Stuck inside with construction workers yesterday and lots of rain, so no exercise to speak of. Had a fundraising dinner at an Italian restaurant in the evening for Maryville Christian School where my granddaughter goes. It was 9:00 when we got home from that. Did well managing food yesterday in the face of all that and held steady. River is hoping for a good walk sometime today!
10/29–156 I’ve got to up my exercise level today no matter what the weather does. Construction project is finished so I am hoping to be able to go to the gym.

11/2 157.2 Can we say self-sabotage??? Part of this is Halloween candy after Trunk or Treat through Halloween itself. Part of it was just poor management of food intake. It will be temporary, but it may ruin my progress for this round. Getting the chocolate candy out of the house today!
11/3 156.0 That’s a little better. Candy was donated to a women’s & children’s shelter yesterday, and meals were right on target. Meals are planned for the rest of the week and the crock pot is full of white chicken chili for tonight. Feeling much more in control today. Pushing water, too. Finished a Christmas quilt this morning and started another to give my granddaughter’s kindergarten teacher. Feeling accomplished!

I was happy with my weight this morning, I have been eating badly for a few days, and have noticed that my average weight has gone down by about a kilo.
I'm looking forward to doing the whole challenge from the beginning, next time. It was a bit challenging, because I backed up my progress in an open office document and when I pasted it to this thread, a whole lot of words got spaces from between them removed so I had to reformat it. So annoying! I might back it up in my email from now on.

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 313 (my 243rd).
Goals for every round;
- First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
- to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
- be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
- to have a totally 10-day binge free round.
- Would like to lose a pound round.
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.
I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life."Health is wealth".
10/27 140.6 – (trend 141.4) More or less knew yesterday’s number would not stick, but still happy, last weight in previous round was 144, so that’s a loss of 3.4 pounds. I know that previous weight was inflated due to a bad few days, but still happy. No structured exercise; met up with DS & family at Sudbury Children’s House, enjoyed the time with DGDs.
EW Rnd 312 140.6
SW Rnd 313 140.6
10/28 140.6 – (trend 141.3) 8.77 miles walked.
10/29 140 – (trend 141.2) met up with group of DSs & FF, went for a carvery: we were all very restrained in portion control. 6.44 miles walked before meeting up.
10/30 141.8 – (trend 141.2) woops, chocolate jumped into my mouth!! No structured walking – drove up to fetch 7-year-old DGS, he is staying with us overnight whilst his younger brother is in hospital for a routine procedure.
10/31 141.8 (trend 141.3) – second day with DGS so no structured walking, younger DGS came through his procedure well.
11/1 DNW - away for the weekend in the caravan. Short walk, almost 4 miles after we arrived.
11/2 DNW - just short of 12 miles walked into Henley-on-Arden & back.
11/3 141.4 (trend 141.4) – travelled back home, no structured walking.

DH and I are on a very different eating schedule. As in he has one and I just eat when I’m hungry.Happy to be out of my garbage sugar spiral. I kind of always thought that people were just being dramatic or superior with “sugar hangovers” or “sugar withdrawal”.
Like woohoo look at me “I’m such a good person and I eat so clean that when I have sugar I feel terrible the next day”.
I don’t think a few treats here or there do that BUT I can now say shoveling candy into your mouth for a week straight (and I don’t mean just a few pieces here or there) and going cold turkey will make you think you have the flu for a day. I genuinely thought I was getting sick Saturday.
Nope, when I put everything into perspective that was sugar withdrawal.Lol I am definitely just white knuckling my way through this round like a savage.

Welcome back. @quiltingjaine two weeks felt like a long time!
I love the energy in that post @Chapter_3 I think a lot of us are looking at the next two months and realizing we want to go hard not just survive. And that is a DECISION we can make. And your pics are adorable, your husband always look like he knows how fortunate he is.
@deepwoodslady you deserve an easy day!!! And you are so right, no matter how hard I try to understand why certain days just click and the food noise goes quiet, I just can’t figure out the secret.
@fermatamb7212 you typed lasagna and responded like Garfield.

good morning, late starting this challenge but woke up inspired and eager to get back on track. So hello everyone. I’m 67 🤪and lost 40 lbs during Covid and became vegan as well and also gave up alcohol, so I guess I could say Covid provided gave me a kickstart to look after my health. I’ve kept the weight off, up and down a few either way. I’d love to lose the last 20 lbs I never did.

RSW: 194.4
RGW: 192
11/04 - 192.6/5,295/21 - thankful to see a drop again. Yesterday was a big paperwork day. We got the winter tires on the van, today we have to reorganize the storage shed and get the bikes, mower and plants stuff put away for winter and make sure that the snow blower is accessible.4 -

I could hive myself a half of a heart for my half-hearted exercise, but no. Yesterday was a chauffeur day for the generations behind me, and book keeping day for the generations ahead of me.By the way… for me, logging food begets more success if I log as soon as the food is eaten, or even before. Waiting until the end of the day to tally it up is usually disappointing.

Pumpkin pancakes at Rotary lunch was my big meal of the day. I love breakfast for lunch, but it took my eye off the target.Today is lunch out with friends, then pizza with the grands tonight (oh, and with their parents too. HA!) before they go out and troll our neighborhood for chocolate. I will sneak at least one quality control sample from our “outgoing” basket.

✏️🎯💓 by a hair.Like many of you have expressed, these next two months of eating temptation are kicked-off with too much left-over candy. I have failed the test too many times. I usually start Nov/Dec in a hole with too many peanut butter cups, etc. Then, these cool months are loaded with comfort food offerings. Discouragement follows. I can see it plain as day.
Yesterday was pretty good. Let’s take it one day at a time.

We attended a fund-raiser event last night for our local alcohol/drug recovery program. Super awesome organization that attends to the whole person. Physical and spiritual. I can’t say enough good about it.But, the evening included the gathering of 20+ local restaurants scattered around the building to give us a taste of everything! For the food addicts it was an open bar. “hello, I’m Jeff and I am a foodaholic.” I am not joking.

cando this, youcan do this.Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. You have only one hour to edit your post. Post every day to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non-scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share. Make the board your own - track what is important for YOUR JOURNEY.
FOR NEWBIES- I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 313
Oct 28 – Nov 6, 202564 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW: 129.8
10/28 – 129.2 Yesterday was actually good! Yay! Calories were actually around 200 under, but I have eaten so much lately, I have a few extra calories stored on me. I don’t plan to do this repeatedly, but good to see no spin out yesterday. Let’s get through today!
I am going to make a point of doing the coffee thing in the morning and making sure I catch up on all your posts. When I am not, it is an indicator of where my head is all.
(haha, this year I remembered to update my about me instead of months later!!)
10/29 – 130.0 Ok, payback for cuddling grandchildren when DD warns me they both have colds. Sore throat and body aches, which make me want to EAT……
10/30 – 130.4 not surprised. I did zero tracking yesterday. Still feeling bleck, but grateful that is all it is. :)
10/31 – 130.4 no tracking yesterday, again. The cold is sticking with me and changing each day, first sore throat, then body aches, then congestion, now added ear ache and slight coughing. Need to check in on mom today, but will keep it short and mask up. Despite the cold, plan to join my DGSs trick or treating this evening. We will be outside, and heck, I can’t give it to them as then gave it to me. :P
11/1 – DNW just did not feel like facing the scale this AM
11/2 – 130.0 Actually grateful as during Halloween eve I went on a binge of the leftover snack bags I purchasesd for trick or treat-ers. We had the most kids at this home ever…….one child. Amazon delivery driver also got one. Lots were left and were just too tempting. Then last night went out to eat, but I did my smart method of a lovely appetizers as my entrée. A charcuterie board was shared between the four of us as a starter. Still did not expect a down. <3
11/3 – DNW
11/4 – 131.0 The upward trend continues. Posting quickly before heading to the airport. Two weeks in Florida. Hopefully I can use it as a reset of attitude!!

11/03-182.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 183.9) There are hard days and easy days which I can’t always understand (or explain).
🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/04-183.2 ❌ (Trend Weight: 183.8) A huge overnight increase on the scale even though I had a very good day yesterday. It was another “easy” day where I didn’t feel as hungry as normal. My glucose numbers were good and my cravings were low. However, I did not sleep well last night (Fitbit shows total of 2 hrs 50 minutes broken up). No TMI this morning is probably the biggest factor and it was an early weigh-in this morning as I got up earlier than normal due to my travel today. Below are yesterday’s numbers. Hopefully things will settle in over the coming days though I may not weigh tomorrow because I usually need a buffer day after travel.

11/4: 163.9 Inch by inch still trying to get back to that 10/31 number, which must have been an anomaly as I've been well in a calorie deficit every day. Wonder if I misread the scale (ha ha). I've slacked, off a little bit with my water intake, been at about half my usual water, will make that a priority more.
