And the car and I live happily ever after. The End.

I've always been a sucker for happily ever after. Very very happy you are safe and car is fixed!

  • Hey there,

I can't believe everyone here is an introvert!!!!! I am an extrovert. 5yjbztv.gif

Actually, when I took the Myer-Briggs test, I was ENFP...the E is for extrovert. But I was "mildly" extroverted. Mostly, I am just moody in my old, post-menopausal age!!!
  • I kept trying to see if my arms were flabby from different angles... you made me paranoid!! I'm happy to say they are in respectable condition, certainly could be smaller, but are tone. It's a process.

    Lori

Wow...I am impressed. And I have toned arm envy  Woman, you rock!
  • Geeeeezzzzzz you chatty Cathys! How's a girl to keep up! :noway: lol

And now that you're probably all in bed, I'll throw my two cents in on everything! Guess you'll catch up with me tomorrow!

First off, Denise you and your family will be in my thoughts. So great that you and Ken are able to be there for them and provide a safe haven. But the added stress of others in the house can be a challenge too. Hold on for the roller coaster of emotions that come along with these events but I know you all will make it through! And ya, 12 is too young and shouldn't have to choose... pack her up and take care of her!!! :flowerforyou:

I decided a few years back when traveling to warm climates that sleeveless was the only option... dispite my flappy arms! Guess what, I've not keeled over from it yet! Anyone that sees me and has a negative opinion can stuff it, they be my arms and I'll do what I want with them. I do think they look best very tanned though!

Elizabeth! :flowerforyou: Welcome back! Love your sleeves (ritz)... thanks for the honesty... not always easy. We've all been there a time or two. Ok more than that! Being here, being real helps so much. I have always loved The Breakfast Club... I could be most any role depending on the time of my life. Is that good, or bad? ugh! Crazy, scary on your car/wheel! So glad it worked out.

Marianne, sailors mouth huh... well I can have a loggers mouth at times. Wonder how those stack up against each other! Maybe one day with a bottle of wine we will find out! :drinker: I'm recording Oprah but haven't watched yet. You?

I believe I am a forced introvert... can remember being an extrovert but due to events, gossip, small town crap :explode: ; I've learned being an introvert keeps me off the radar, which is a good thing. Back in the day I was a cheerleader, tough to be an introvert in that roll! So yea, I'd get the party started with you girls, and heckle those in the corner until they joined in!!! Kindly though! Thanks for voting for me!

Peggi have a wonderful camping trip! We will miss you so hurry back when you're done!

Kim I'm laughing over the noise at your work. I work with two women that dominate the room on a daily basis making it impossible for others to talk. I occasionally watch the mens reactions to their topics and enjoy that scene but mostly I grab my keys and hit the door. They are like toxic fumes and I run! Hang in there and protect yourself from the nuts in this world!

Lori I wish I could get exercise points for reading what all you are doing! Good for you!!!! Awesome that your classes are going well. You definately have to be an extrovert to do all that! Love that you almost cracked up thinking about our group and the flapping!

I saw my chiro/guru today... sore but on the mend, probably going again next week. Lots of emotional work too so that's all a bit draining. Along with the roller coaster of life we are on here :frown: I'm worn out. Each day is looking a smidge brighter though, I think. Ugh again!

Get your passports ready ladies... free place to stay in paradise (Mexico) is always an option! Or Vegas. Or ?
Unless your a crazy B!atch from GA, then hell NO!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday Bellas!!!! :flowerforyou:

Marianne -- did you watch the Oprah life class yet?
    Lori

I'm recording Oprah but haven't watched yet. You?
    Ev
Yes; I watched the first class. I have to say, though, not a fan. I was really disappointed. I didn't watch The Oprah show when it was on regular tv and now I remember why. I will refrain from divulging specifics until you two have watched.

Today is our company's free bio screen day. My appointment is 9:50; no coffee until after the blood draw. But I'm excited to compare all the numbers from last year including my weight.

Um, do crazy Beitchs from Ohio qualify to come? Or are we banned too? I know at least one here on Lake Erie that could use a tropical paradise retreat...and she hasn't been to Vegas in years! Do you do pre-screening for admittance??? I think I might be able to lie my way through as a sane person. I seem to have done it for years now.

Another day in paradise here on the Great Lakes. OK, so not so nice of a day. It is raining and getting colder out, but my spirits are high and hopefully for an uneventful day. My daughter stayed last night and will be here again tonight. After that, who knows. She only brought enough clothes for two days. And my grandduaghter chose to stay at her house with her dog. My daughter told me that Bri didn't choose to stay with her dad. She even asked her dad why he couldn't leave. But she is at that age, where she wants her stuff and her privacy and staying here right now, she wouldn't have her own room. Or her dog. I guess I need to clean up my computer room and get enough room to put a bed in here. Only problem with that is, there isn't enough room for a bed and my treadmill. I really hate that thing, but I think I would hate worse to not have it available. I can only handle so much of Jillian and Bob Harper. I need to take my walks.

Ok, enough rambling for this morning. You all have a super fantastic day. I plan on it. I am going to alter some jeans that are falling off of me and hope I can make them look good enough to wear. Keep your fingers crossed...if I screw this up there will be a bigger problem. No jeans to wear, baggy or otherwise. LOL

I'm having a "Ligh Bulb" Moment!!smiley-think007.gif You know the kind..the ones where the light bulb above your head just goes out...Yep, that's me. We have a vaulted ceiling in the computer/bedroom. The stupid lightbulb in the ceiling just went outsmiley-laughing013.gif

Sorry, but it isn't easy sitting here with it raining and dark out and trying to type with only one bulb. Guess I better go find something constructive to do!smiley-chores039.gif

  • OK, selfish me just wants to hold a little pity party for a few minutes here....

I was so happy to be out of my emotional rut. I washed a bunch of fabric I own and then did some ironing with the intent of getting back into quilting. Thought today would be a good day to start as it is rainy and cold (and, Denise, I have more than one light bulb! )

Come to find out that our house is leaking in the living room where I do my sewing. The carpet is wet, the woodwork along the baseboard is rotting, and a very expensive print I bought a couple of years ago and never had framed but packed securely and had standing there is ruined. Sigh. What next?

This is also week 3 of not having a usuable shower as a dozen or so tiles decided to fall off the wall.

When my husband first moved me away from my beloved at the beach waterfront home, I joked we had moved into "The Haney House." Do we all know the Haney House?

If its not one thing, it is another. Quilting will have to wait. Sigh. Just moaning and groaning today. Hope your days are better.

Marianne -- I wasn't thrilled with the Oprah Master Class. There have been better episodes presenting that information. Wish is would have been compiled differently. I have the second to watch while I am on the treadmill later this afternoon. I read Eckhart Tolle's New Earth, so the stuff she mentioned wasn't new. Although he is certainly not the first to point out that we assign ourselves and our behaviors with labels that often times are not genuine. Or we use those labels to limit ourselves.

Good luck with the testing. Excited for you to see measurable affirmation of the progress you have achieved

Denise - Feeling for you and the transition. Hope you find a place for your treadmill to keep your exercise convenient.

Evelyn -- love Vegas! I could warm up to Mexico quite quickly as well. Have a great day at work.

Kim -- hoping you have a little peace and quiet at work today. Kudos on all the canning.

I got an email from Springettsbury township asking if I want to put in a proposal for January classes. Love that I got the email, just need to think about what I want to do. The M,W,F morning class still isn't being advertised and I'm only getting 1-5 people whether it is held at 8:00 a.m. or 10:15 a.m. I need to take an honest look at my schedule and go from there.

Our dog is a 15 year old Bischon. I just gave him a nice warm sudsy bath. He's all sacked out in his bed. I have a list of things to accomplish today. .... so I am off to get them done.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

Hello all, Thanks for stalking me Bellas and keeping me on track. I know I haven't posted in a while and I am going to work on it. I read the post several times a day and think I am going to comment and don't, next thing I know you all have wrote what I am thinking and it is on another page. I am taping the Oprah life class and I am not very pleased with it either. Going to finish taping the week out and see what happens.

Lori You are such a exercise yoga master. That is awesome you have tone arms. I wear sleeveless too but it is because I dont have a roomful of mirrors showing me every angle and it is HOT here in the summer. Plus, I don't want a farmers tan. :blushing: Maybe I need to teach an exercise class to get my butt to start doing exercise. I believe if I could pick up this awesome habit, the weight would fall off a little easier. Although I am starting to get this food thing down. I know that the stress about the health of our parents sure doesn't help matters. Hope your dad is feeling better and back to his own self soon.

Elizabeth Man, that sucks about your house ordeal. I sympathize with you. It does seem like when we fix one thing, something else decides it needs attention and breaks down. :grumble: Sounds like your house and car are in kahoots. I know this question was posted a few days ago, but I would have probably never talked to any of you in person. I am such an introvert it is sad  . Although, I am a little better than I was 25 years ago. Now maybe if I seen you more than like let's say 5 to 7 times in the same area (campground) then I would comment on something like the weather to start a conversation. I can say that the friends I have made are loyal and true, just as I am to them. My husband is the complete opposite of me. He will even have the telemarketers begging HIM to let them hang up!

Marianne Well what kind of good news did you get from your bio report? Did you have last years, so that you can compare? That would be awesome if we could all meet one day, since I feel like I know you all.

Evelyn Take it easy, I know how much you like going to the gym. You will be feeling better soon and will be able to handle your rough and tumble workouts.

Karen I am very impressed with your canning abilities. Anyone who does that is awesome in my book. We did that one season and let's just say we havent done it since  Boy, does zucchini pumpkin bread sound good. Did you figure out a recipe yet?

Red I agree with you on these post. When I read some of them I swear I could have wrote it, but nope that's not my picture beside it. We are camping this weekend also for the last time this season. This is our Halloween party/hayride. Hope the weather holds out. Don't mind the cold, just don't want the rain. Denise you can come and walk my granddaughter around while I pass out the candy  Let me know when you are coming to Massillon. That would be great if we could meet up.

Karen Where are you in FL? It is one of our all time favorite places to vaca. Wish I was there this week. The weather here in OH has turned into wet, crappy, cold stuff. Brrrrrr!

Denise Thanks for being my personal stalker. I have my page open all the time on facebook and sometimes it says i am there when I am really not. If that makes sense. My arms have wings too, but I still wear sleeveless. I don't know, I sure don't look at someone and my first thought being "Oh man, look at those bat arms" and I hope that is not the first thing they notice about me. :ohwell: What campground did you guys go to pass out the candy? Also, that is awesome that you have to alter your jeans, though it would have been a great excuse for a shopping spree. Great Job!! I hear you on wanting your treadmill. I have one that I loaned to a friend for health reasons and because I really didn't have room for it. Plus I really wasn't trying to do anything about my weight. He no longer needs it, so I may have to see about getting it back and trying to make room somewhere for it. Hopefully your daughter can get her head cleard for the couple days she is with you and make wise, healthy choices. That is a tough spot to be in for her and you guys. Thinking about you!!

Take care all and making a commitment to comment more frequently! Especially now that I can get mfp at work...shhhh don't tell anyone :glasses:

I do remember the Haney House!!!

Steve is the head of maintenance in our household and I know he ALWAYS has something to fix or maintain. There are weeks when everything is going to crap at once and he gets really really irritated. I am head of financing and absolutely hate when the dollars keep rolling out the door day after day for maintenance or repair. I feel your pain E.

On the other hand, I have tried quilting a time or two! Hahahaha...worked on a really cool quilt when I was in my teens; made my own design. Never finished it! Then a few years ago, I had a great brainiac idea to try it again. So I bought a kit whereby you buy each large square once a month and sew it together. The front has been done now for...mmmmm....4 years or so. I'm perplexed as how to add the back & "quilt" it. Sounds easy I know...but it overwhelms me. Just pulled it out a few months ago; went to Jo-Ann Fabrics; I was bound and determined to finsh. And again, became overwhelmed with the back fabric choices, the stuff for the middle choices and how to "quilt". Needless to say, I left the store empty handed.....heavy sigh.

I wasn't a huge fan of Eckhart Tolle's New Earth. It seemed as though he was teaching something I already knew which is probably why I didn't care for the show. Many, many years of soul searching has allowed me to understand most of the concepts in the book and during her class. I was looking for something new. I was also looking for her insights and ah ha moments. It seemed as though her delivery was too scripted; too "know it all". And you know, that's why I stopped watching her 20 years ago.

No second show for this gal.

Steve said he read on the internet that OWN and her master class isn't doing so well. Kuddos to her for trying though. I like the fact that she wants to "teach" people, as I'm sure there are others in this world that could leverage the information she shares.

Dodie, The campground was East Harbor State Park. Not sure what city they have it listed at..could be Marblehead/Lakeside Oh or Danbury Township. I know it is about 15 miles West of me. And I guaranteee you if we head toward Massilion we will be meeting up with you. Talk about stalking!!!

Marianne, Great job with the yearly comparison. Big improvements all around. Doing great in cutting that height down too. Next thing you know you will be as short as me.

How is the journey going this week? Everyone feeling good so far? We only have a day before the weigh in on Friday and it seems like we aren't talking about it. Funny how we started with the challenges and now we are more concerned with helping each other in daily lives and making sure everyone is mentally in shape. I think I like that...makes this group even more solid. Don't get me wrong, the weight loss is still very important, I just think we are opening up to real friendships and the concern we share now is more of a family than just a bunch of women trying to lose weight together. Just my 2 cents worth.

So my question of today is...how has your feeling toward getting into a Closed group changed from your first day? Has it helped with keeping you on track?

Keep your eyes to the sky and shoot for the stars!

    Hi Bellas,

Sitting at the tattoo shop with my hubby. I guess I will be here for a couple of hours. No curves for me today. I would go for a walk, but it is dark and I am in a neighborhood I am not familiar with.

Oprah's Class - I wasn't so thrilled with it either and I have almost always been an Oprah fan. I thought I would give it a couple
    more shows.

Marianne/Elizabeth, I love making quilts. I don't have any that I have made, cause I love giving them to other people. I don't think I am all that great at it. And I usually use my sewing machine. I have made a couple baby quilts all by hand. My BIL found some very old quilt tops made by some old woman in GA mountains, and I keep saying I am going to finish them. One day..
And Marianne, congrats on your health screen results.. That is Super..

Dodie, I live about 40 miles North of Tampa in a small town of about 5000 called Ridge Manor, It is in Hernando County. Just off I-75 Exit 301. Just let me know when your next vacation is. I am an hour from Disney and an hour from the beaches. Which ever is your preference.

Denise, I hope everything works out for your daughter. I know how heartbreaking that can be. My son moved back home with us after his Fiance went back to her old boyfriend..The venue was booked, the wedding dress was bought. My son was devastated. It has been 2 1/2 years and he still is not over her. Your daughter is very lucky to have you and your husband to give her the support she needs to get through this..

Lori, I am so inspired by you and your Yogo. I am still doing the stretching exercises you gave us. But I think I want to find a class to go to. I have yoga on my WII, but I am not too impressed with it.. I will start looking..

Hope everyone has a good night..

YEAH Karen's getting a tattoo! Where? What is it? Is it your first one? ..ok I know you said you were with your husband, so I will lay odds on him getting the new tattoo. But it could be you...and we want details when you do.

Denise, My hubby is the one getting the new tattoo.. He has too many to count.. He is getting an Eagle head tonight on the back of his leg.
I however already have 4 tattoos.. My 1st one was a very small butterfly on my right shoulder. 2nd one was an Angel Songbird on the same shoulder. 3rd is a rose and sparrow with a ribbon with my boys names on it. It is on my left foot. Let me tell you that it hurt like h***. My last one I got is an Angel on the side of my right calf. My sister gave everyone in the family a christmas ornament the year she found out about her brain tumor. So I took it to our friend who does our tats and he drew it up and added some really cook wings. It also has a ribbon that says "watch over us".

I was one who always said "I am never going to get a tattoo". But they are addicting. I keep telling myself, no more..
Okay, now everyone else has to confess if they have any....

Confession time...I have been tattooed 7 times...but a couple are close to others so it looks like 5.
    1. First was when I turned 40. I got a long stem red rose on my right ankle as a rememberance to my brother and because I was turning 40.
    2. A small blue rose with a red heart on my right shoulder.
    3. A dolphin on my left shoulder, because I love dolphins
    4. A yellow Finch on my right shoulder right next to the blue rose in rememberance of my dad.
    5. A large palm tree on a sand island with a wave coming over it on my left calf. To remind me of my life...how it can be calm and peaceful one minute and then the wave is for the turbulance that comes out of no where.
    6. A large red rose bloom (no stem) on my left shoulder. To cover a scar from rotator cuff surgery and because I love red roses.
    7. Ken's name above the very first red rose I got on my right ankle. I actually had him sign his name on a piece of paper and took it in and had them "brand me"...LOL

I hope I didn't scare you all away now. I am a painted lady...and I would get more if I could afford them. Ken only has two. A harley -davidson one on his right shoulder. And a pin-up girl on his right calf. He won't get anymore because of his diabetes and how the last one took too long to heal. He got both of them because of me. He never would have gotten any if he didn't know me. I am a terrible influence on people.

Most of my family have tattoos. My husband has a pinup girl on his calf as well. I tell everybody that it is me 25 years ago..lol
My husband is also diabetic, but he has never had any problem with his healing. He has actually only stopped taking his Plavix once I think. Dr says he should stop taking Plavis a couple days before his gets a tat, but he doesn't listen to Dr very well.. But he still hasn't had any problems. It's a good thing cause he is very addicted. He has his left leg all the way. This Eagle finishes up the leg. And one of his arms is pretty full. He does have a wedding band tattoo with my initials. Both our boys and both of us have the sparrow.

It seems like the journey is going well this week. I've been so busy at work, I haven't had a chance to stress about weighin. I really enjoy seeing everyone posting this week too! That seems to brighten my days.
We only have a day before the weigh in on Friday and it seems like we aren't talking about it.
I am watching the scale but it certainly won't be a 4 pounder this week. I've also upped my water intake trememdously the last few weeks. Alls good.
Funny how we started with the challenges and now we are more concerned with helping each other in daily lives and making sure everyone is mentally in shape. I think opening up to friendships takes the weight (pun intended) off our shoulders a bit. I'm not a huge fan of challenges.
So my question of today is...how has your feeling toward getting into a Closed group changed from your first day? Has it helped with keeping you on track?

I had been on the site almost 5 months when I started chatting with Whatnow50. What a shame she’s no longer around…I miss her…she was our founder (RIP).

OMG...my feeling about joining a group pre bella sistas was nonexistent. I was a bit apprehensive about joining because I didn’t want to get into a group full of exercise/cleaneating/perfect logging fanatics. I didn’t want to feel like a failure. I already knew what failure felt like with the diet roller coaster. Today, I still feel like I wouldn’t venture into another group if this one disbanded because that isn’t what I typically do. I am the type of person who is very content in her own little world. But nothing could compare to the friendships established with the bella sistas; nothing…kind of like a first love : ) No one else could hold a candle to you. Each and every one of you has given me the extra boost to stay on track. And I bow to you! Thank you.

Denise – How will you answer your questions?

My eyes are focused on the sky and shooting for the stars!

    Confession....I don't have any tattoos :(

I have often thought about getting a couple. I wanted Steve & I to each do a wedding band on our 10th but he wasn't interested. He has two markings from when he was really young (15 or 16) but believe me the do not deserve to be called a tattoo.

If I did do a tat....it would be....a Phoenix bird rising out of the ashes. I think that is a fairly common tat right? Anyhoo, it would represent my life; the hard struggles from childhood to my 40s then rising above all the crap to become a beautiful creature.

Admire all you ladies with tattoos. I would be scared to death that it hurt too much and I would have this strange unfinished mess to show for it.

I am more likely to finish a quilt than get a tattoo hahahahaha.

Off to bed for me. Have a great day tomorrow.

But I still want to lose those pounds!!! And I am thwarted on a daily basis! (Thwart is such a great word...and I certainly dont mean to imply that the rest of you dont want to lose those pounds!) Someone challenge me....I am not asking for a group challenge, just a challenge for me!! Like not eating 12 granola bars every night between 8 and midnight! Or getting out and walking again! Or trying the 30 day shred since my shoulder is feeling a lot better! Aughh! Who stole my joie de vivre?????

Peace out and sleep well, Elizabeth
  • I dont have any tatoos. I used to give blood as many times a year as they would allow me, and getting a tat would have prevented me from doing that for a period of time (a year, maybe?). And to be honest, I dont understand the point of them. I've seen some amazing ones on other people, and they dont bother me, but I wouldnt want one for myself. For one thing, it would take years for me to figure out what I wanted, and then I would probably change my mind. But I will ask this.....if you lose a lot of weight, will that affect the appearance of your tatoo? I am sure the answer to that question might depend on where the tatoo is. Just something I have wondered about.......
