Last week's challenge: My challenge for last week turned out to be getting through the week. If you missed the post on my page, I'm not taking the job I first interviewed for on 10/10. Too much drama, and that was just to get them to make me a formal offer. They wanted me to walk out on my current job, wouldn't answer my basic employment questions, the recruiter actually lied to me twice, gave me misinformation on numerous occasions, and then stopped responding to me completely. This is all before I even start working. I'm not looking because I dislike my current position, I'm looking because my contract ends in March. But for now, I'm not so desperate for work that I'll dip my toes in that mess.

This week's challenge: continue squats (2x10 sets), bent leg crunches (less back strain), wall push ups, Pilates planks, add straight-leg deadlift.

Posting my numbers and updating my ticker:

Beth I am sorry to hear your news and will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Tiamaria glad you have found your way back
Leila very impressed with all you are doing food and exercise wise.
    Great progress kepete
Gwen you made progress despite everything!
I have started spending time at my Moms to help her while her collar bone is healing. My sister and brother will be helping as well but I am freer. Just trying to make sure exercise doesn’t take a back seat. Not sure how I can do my weigh in tomorrow under the circumstances. Today while my brother took her out during the open house I went for my job/walk. This comes on the tail of a small convention this weekend. Just trying to stay focused.

Wow, another week has flown by. Couple more weeks and my bedroom furniture will arrive. I've already changed out the light fixture. The new roller shade has arrived, but this weekend was too busy to install that. I'm also going to change the outlets and light switch (from dark to white, so the whole room will be light and airy.) I will try to post a pic once it's completed.

Had another busy week, but stayed on track for the most part. Got lots of water. Getting enough sleep is still the most difficult, but was definitely better than the previous week (where I got around 5-6 hours per night.) So sleep will be my goal this week again. I'm going to try to move my bedtime up gradually and maybe that will make it easier. For this week, my goal will be to go to bed by 11, sleep by 11:30. Again, I am going to try to take at least one fruit and one vegetable to work with me each day.

So, I lost 4.2 this week, which is really probably too much - I'm aiming for between one and two pounds per week, but I'll definitely take it! It's not that I don't want big losses like this, but I just want to lose in a healthy way and I've always heard that you shouldn't lose more than a pound or two per week. But I do always try to overestimate calories taken in and underestimate calories burned just to be on the safe side. So I'm almost at the goal I had set for Christmas, since I'm at 265.4. I wonder now if I had set my expectations too low, but on the other hand I didn't want to set a goal too lofty and set myself up for disappointment. So I will continue to do my best and set new goals for Christmas and beyond.

Thanks again to all for your continued support and best wishes to everyone for great successes this week.

Gwen, that sounds like a horrible place to work. Glad you don't need to take that job. Good grief. Nothing like putting your best food forward.

Great job on the losses runninggirl , sam and paxtemore. I love the pic. of the cat...certainly is the season.

Okay, gonna brag a little.... My daughters Rugby club is Division 1 New York State Champions as of yesterday. Undefeated season. I'm so proud of the girls, they worked so hard.

Next week starts playoffs for the mid east title. They are playing Harvard at our Home.:noway: So they have to come to Buffalo. Yea !! I'm sure our lumpy field is nothing like their Ivy League surface. But I'm stoked to see some high caliber playing. Woot !!

My NSV's for this week... my son gave me a big squeeze hug and called me tiny lady. Far from tiny, but I am the shortest one in my house at 5'8". Sure felt good. It makes me so happy that my kids still love to cuddle and hug even though they are 16-21 yrs. old.

I went to Salvation Army Saturday and found a fabulous sparkly print blouse with a low V neck to wear for an upcoming retirement party for 5$. I was alone that day, so I busted open the changing room and asked the next lady waiting for it if it looked okay. ( always self conscience ) She said it was hot. YEA!! I'm considered hot at the thrift store by a stranger

My weigh in is tomorrow, so I'll be stalking here in the meantime.

Small loss this week, but I will take it. I know that I am not exercising enough and the losses will stop and I will get frustrated and quit completely. SO, hopefully DH will walk with me when he gets over his cold.
I did have a wonderful ride on Saturday and am looking forward to more with the cooler weather.
Seems strange that I drink more water, when I am at work than when I am at home and it is more available! LOL.
One day at a time, even one meal at a time, sometimes. Am looking forward to being under 160, hopefully next weigh in.
    Have a good week everybody!

    Hi girls,
Just could not finish the last 4 days of level 3, so i'm restarting tonight from level 1.
However here are the results achieved.
Just checked back on my measurements that i had logged in on the 23/09/2011 & 02/10/2011.

    30 Day shred the( DREAD)
    day 1, day 15, today

    waist: 37- 35- 34
    hips: 47- 46- 45
    bust : 43- 42- 41.5
    arms: 15- 14 -13.5
    legs: 25.5- 25- 24.5
    belly: 47 -45- 42

Holy cow that's 16.5 inches, gone from the first round. just imagine what i could achieve if i put some bloody effort in.

In clothes sizes that down from UK 20-( US 16) to UK 16- (US 12) so my first clothes goal has been reached,
when i'm all made up at the weekend i'll add a photo to my profile wearing my 2008 Xmas LBD.

Still get no joy from exercise, but so glad i kept a record of what was happening to the body, it really spurred me on this evening to "just do it"
I expect things to be quite a bit slower from now on, hopefully i can lose a lb per week, that should get me to my goal weight for next May

This week has been a particularly stressful week for me. I got a phone call from my niece, who I am very close to . ( She still calls me Her Beth Ann ) . She just turned 36 this October 6th ...and she has been dealing with, heart problems for about 12 years now. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, with heart failure. She had just returned from a visit to the specialist she was referred to...and they told her, that ,her only hope was for a heart transplant. That she may want to start planning for her funeral. I just cant wrap my brain around that news. I feel so helpless. My sister's world is completely crashing down around her. . Both her children inherited this from their father. So, she has not one but both of her children dealing with the same thing. Then we got more bad news. My nephew ,who is 24 ,(my brothers son ) is being checked for a dark spot on his colon. It was discovered, when he was getting an ultrasound for a kidney stone he was having trouble passing. I pray for a miracle ,be it healing from God,or a heart to be available in the time of need, and the dark spot to be just that, a dark spot and nothing else. I am asking if you will please send your prayers or blessings to my niece,Amanda and my nephew Joseph. Thank you my friends. Beth

Sorry I did not read this sooner Beth. I am hoping everything is going well. You have my prayers for sure!

    hi guys,
i've got to confess i lost my way this past week or two. i've been very busy / stressed at work and although i was on holiday this past week i got out of the way of tracking my food input and exercise but................i'm back on track (pardon the pun) and have logged my food diary for the day and excercise taken.
although i have managed a small weight loss i was beginning to worry i'd not be able to get any further because i'd gotten out of the way of tracking.
anyway, tomorrow is another day and i'm going to make a bit more of an effort to take excercise and if i'm logging the food i eat i'm more likely to think twice about making poor choices.
i hope you have all been successful in your own personal quest to lose weight for Christmas. i love hearing of your successes and of being consoled that i'm not the only one who strays from the goal at times but we're all in this together so........
    i'll keep you posted.

    Nice to have you back!

Hi all! I missed the weigh in last week. However, neither last week nor this week did I see a change. It's okay because I found out last week I have Lyme Disease which explains why I have not energy to workout! One month of antibiotics and I should be back in shape. So, I am happy to maintain until I have the energy to workout again! Hope you all have a wonderful week and keep up the good work!
