am so sore from my Rules for lifting angry I covered my things with tiger balm this morning...used the heating pad last night. Whew....those squats where something. Funny, I do them all the time, just not with 45lbs. on my shoulders noway I left the gym thinking....gee...two sets of 15 doesn't seem like much . Glad I didn't do more, I'd still be in bed.

So workout B is shoulder presses , dead lifts and alternate sets of crunches and lunges. That's the plan for tonight. The workouts don't take much time, but the results are something to fear now. I found a HUGE thread about the book with a bunch of gals that started in April. I've been reading from the beginning, they've rolled it 3 times. It's nice to have a reference/ feedback from people who are doing it.

Luckily my leftover Halloween candy was very small. I had a fun pack of skittles yesterday. bigsmile When you don't get to workout, you don't get the fun stuff to eat. grumble I missed not taking my class , but I don't want to injure myself. That would just be a total drag.

I'm finding it harder to drink my water with the cooler weather. I have to actually fill my bottle and remind myself to drink it after dinner. My bladder must be huge, I only have to get up at night on occasion. laugh

Donna, glad your back safely. :flowerforyou:
Gwen, nice job on the weigh in !

One more day till Friday !! Have a great one !

OK my Christmas Challenge ladies....I'm gonna say it now...I miss you all !! I know everyone is busy and life is happening. I just want you to know I miss you.:flowerforyou: Just throwing it out there.

Now for my therapy. I went to the gym last night. Still feeling tingly in the calf. Boot camp class-Lets start with a run around the building. I ran 4 steps, turned around and went home :frown: dang it.... spoke to the trainer who is also a chiropractor in training/school. So now I am going to her clinical and get treated by her doctor/teacher/ her. Yea, so excited.. guess we can work on that pinched nerve somehow.

I finished week one of Rules of lifting for women. All 3 workouts. Last one was this morning. Sunday is a total day of rest. I have to remind myself it is a 6 month program....you HAVE to take the rest days. The shoulder workout wasn't as hard as the leg one. Or at least it hasn't hit me yet.

I took new photos for Nov... and as happy as I have been with my 52 lb. loss and feeling great -The photos didn't make me feel that way. It only reminded me how far I have yet to go. I didn't look at them side by side with my other months, but just looking at them was a bit depressing. So into the computer file they go and I'm not going to look at them again until I decide to put the collage together from beginning to end. Not very motivational I know. :grumble:

Today is a power cleaning around the house, boy scout Colonial feast at camp ( total turkey dinner with all the trimmings ), followed by a Retirement Roast of a good friend which includes dinner and cocktails at a local restaurant . FANTASTIC FUN ! Total indulgence day and I will watch all my eating and drinking throughout the day. Thank goodness this program recommends 2000 calories on lifting days..yipee !!

See you all at your weigh ins tomorrow !!

I had a pretty good weigh-in on Saturday, down another 3.7 pounds to 260.6. I will strive for 250 by Christmas, but we are going to be very busy, so it's not going to be easy.

We are going to Boston from Thursday to Saturday, so I'll be eating out too much again and at the end of the month we're going on a bus trip to NYC for a week.

So my goal for this week will be to eat very healthy and stay under calories while home and make good choices eating out in Boston. I will probably weigh on Thursday morning before we leave and again on Sunday morning when I get back just to keep an eye on things.

Pretty much a fail on bedtime again. Although, I did get to bed at 10 on one occasion, I woke up about 1:30 and could not get back to sleep until around 3am, so that kinda defeated the purpose. My brain won't seem to shut up once I wake up, even if it's an hour or two before I need to get up. I don't even usually get to sleep in past 5 or 6am on weekends. So, I'll try again, for what it's worth.

It's dark so early now, especially after the time change this weekend, that my walks are severely limited. I will aim to use the treadmill for 30 to 60 minutes per day from here on out.

Gotta go to aquacise now, then return my middle son to university after that (he came home for the weekend.)

Wishing my fellow Canadians a Happy Remembrance Day and Happy Veterans Day to my American friends. Remember to thank a vet!

Whoo...Kristel, that's a lot of traveling. I totally understand the sleeping thing. I toss for a good 30 mins. then get up usually at 3 am. Watch tv for an hour then back to bed. It's a real drag, Knock on wood it hasn't happened lately. Drives my husband bonkers.

The party was amazing, totally fed my ego. I hadn't seen most of the people in 6 mos. to a year or more and I was getting all kinds of compliments. I felt great ! Makes up for my lousy photos for sure. Some I hadn't seen in over 6-10 years. I drank 3 glasses of wine and about 6 glasses of water. Ate reasonably well . Roast beef and salad...the early turkey dinner was at 3:30 so I don't think I did bad for the day. No hangover unlike my spouse of no control.

I was Up early reading the newspaper and low and behold....an 84 yr. old drove into My gym...through the glass entrance !:noway: :grumble:  :explode: There has been a HUGE amount of people driving into buildings around here. One couple died in a restaurant in front of their child. I don't know whats up with these folks, but it's just unbelievable. Here's the photo and article if your interested.
    http://www.wivb.com/dpp/news/local/elderly-driver-crashes-into-fitness-360

Luckily nobody was injured this time. And he ruined a perfectly lovely 1955 mustang !

My day off from the gym and I spent a good 6 hours Christmas shopping with my daughter. I found a few great deals and am pleased with the progress. We don't spend much on gifts, but it is still fun to buy presents.

My legs are sore and so are my butt cheeks. Squats are fabulous !! :blushing: The instructor did a set of 7 min. abs at the end of class yesterday. It hurts to sneeze:laugh: I love all the burn....it reminds me that it's working.

    Have a great night !!

    Have a good week All.

I changed my Dec 31 goal. I need to keep pushing myself to tone the body. I know toning does not equal weight loss, but I need to have something to strive towards.

I can give excuses, but ultimately I derailed myself. I've got a husband who's convinced that I am at a perfect weight already and getting too thin. He keeps asking me to go out to eat. But again, ultimately, my fault. Not sleeping, not drinking enough water, not exercising. Taking a deep breath today and starting over. Obviously I cannot control even "maintenance" weight. I'm back in the game ladies!

Been fighting off a cold this week and recovering from a fall on Thursday. I haven't had skinned knees like this since I was in grade school. Mostly ice and lots of sleep.

Right girls i have to make this quick,

forgot to weigh in this morning, the major audit started today in work so i have been burning the candle at both ends for the last week and completely came off plan........
no exercise not eating properly working 16 hours per day then not sleeping.

Happy days may just be returning day one of audit no non conformances, just get through tomorrow fingers crossed.

Going to oncologist with mum tomorrow afternoon so just knowing what's ahead may make things a bit easier to handle.

I did not have time to read all this weeks posts so i catch up later in the week. well done to all the loosers.

Kristel & Sherrill good progress hope the travel goes well.
Juliekin you are not alone let’s get back on track together
Gwen don’t tell me we both fell on Thursday! I ran into playground equipment and hit so hard I fell backwards. Sorry to hear about your fall scrapping your knee really hurts. How did we ever survive childhood. At least you are making progress and take care of yourself and get well.
Sam I hope you get through all the busy times well. I just picked my Mom up from the hospital this morning but for now it doesn’t seem to be too serious. Hope all goes well with your Mother.
Now for my weigh-in (I had to go find this on the old thread it has been so long since I have weighed-in):

    Week 7 - 225.4 (Oct 3)
    Week 9 - 225.4 (Oct 10)
    Week 10 - 225.4 (Oct 17)
    Week 11 - xxx (Oct 24) no weigh-in
    Week 12 - xxx (Oct 31) Goal 220 no weigh-in

    Week 18 - xxx (Dec 12)
    Week 19 - xxx (Dec 19)
    Final - xxx (Dec 25) Goal 210 SW - 231
My mother moved into a retirement community with her own apartment with assistance and things should be getting better for me to get back to my exercise routine. Well I started out last week with more exercise but still helping get my Mom settled in so other goals were not being met. There was Halloween and then that week I bumped my head and felt I should take it easy until I saw how I was doing. I was supposed to get today off from my Mom with my sister going over but instead I get a call and she is in the hospital. I do not think she really needed to go this time but she was in pain and didn't know what it was. At first I was managing to maintain but now I feel I have gained with Halloween and little exercise and not always able to eat right. I can't really handle this much longer. I need to take care of myself.

  • Well, not drinking enough water, not walking, but managing to eat fairly well within the calories. Really surprised still losing without having the exercise in there, but I am NOT gonna complain! LOL.
So sorry to hear about setbacks, injuries and illness. Hope all those in tough situations will remember to do what you can and keep moving forward.
    Have a good week, everybody!

    Lisa

PS: Keep forgetting to post a goal, but since I have not met the ones I already set, think I will just keep working on the water, for sure.

Ohhhhhhhhhh they took away my ticker signature  I loved my running plate and spoon. Bummer.

I just finished my workout with my hubby at the gym. Time to watch Biggest Loser. My calf still hurts, but I am working through it, taking it easy and icing it. No worries.

My son got in a fender bender this morning on the way to school. No damage to the other car, but squished my hood :explode: Well she put a claim in for some paint work..so that sucked. Nobody was hurt so it's all good. Just a stupid car...but it put a cloud over my day.

Definitely feel better after the workout. Tomorrow's a new day and all that jazz. Glad to see all the posts.

Question for you all ---- what's your favorite Thanksgiving dish ?? And will you change the recipe a little to suit the new attitude towards food ??

I love all the pies....and I'll still be making and eating them. ( pumpkin, lemon meringue, apple, chocolate chip pudding pie). I will workout in the morning before the day begins.

Have a great night and a fabulous tomorrow.

    Hello ladies!!!! :flowerforyou:

First off let me apologize. Initially when I started this challenge I was so motivated and so excited to meet so many amazing women and get to know each ot you and support and encourage all of you. However, my 10 year turbulent relationship came to an end. I finally got my ex-fiance out of my house and now I am trying to get MY LIFE BACK. I will not go into details but, let's just say it was a very tumultuous time for me.

As my friends on hear know that I have had a rough year. First my Mother passed, than last January I had a head injury/STAPLES and than in March I had a partial hysterectomy. I am not one to let life get me down. I will bounce back from this as well. Nothing was worse than losing my Mom!!!!!

I just wanted to say sorry for not participating and getting to know each and every one of you better. You all are a wonderful group!!!!!

    Make it a FLAB-YOU-LESS week!!!!!

It's Sunday and I am weighing in Ladies....184...a new number for me !! Yea, those weights must be working. I did workout B on my program ROLFW yesterday which includes lat pulldowns on the machine.( up to 75 lbs now ) My back across my shoulders REALLY feel it. ( in a good way )

Spent 1 1/2 hours in a chiropractor clinic ....the visit was amazing. They were so many tests/checks during the exam and she explained everything. I was very impressed . The doctor was there to assist the student and the whole thing was free....woo hoo ! Got a nice adjustment, diagnosis and a follow up for next week. No tingles in my foot yet today. I could do that every week. Only the first visit is that long. And lots of bio freeze

hope you all have a great day!
  • Hello, Everybody.

Glad to have some people back that have been gone awhile. When I first joined MFP I meant to add everyone of you in this challenge as friends. I did not. But if you would like to add, me I would be happy to accept!
I am weighing in today because Mondays just are not good AND I had downward movement on the scale and want to record it. LOL.
I have had a busy time with lots of foot since last Sunday. Two funerals and they always involve food and lots of desserts. Along with the TOM this week, I am thrilled to show a loss today!
For me it is really a matter of saying "No" to other drinks so I get my water in. Just gotta keep the focus going. I have noticed I am on my feet more at work lately, so that's adding to my activity.
Hope everyone had a good week and has a better one next week.
If MFP is calculating correctly and I stay within calories I should be very close to goal by the end of this challenge. Looking forward to that. And enjoying the variety of options in clothes that I can get back into now.

    I

I did the same thing. I usually weigh in on Tuesdays, but I recorded mine today because I was down.

glad to see you back !

I just got back from a 2 hour hike with my honey. We went to the bottom of the Niagara Falls whirlpool. A great fall morning ! Had some curry chicken for lunch at a little place on the way home. Wish we could do this every week. After 22 years-- I still like the man.

    Hello everyone,

Well after a 2 week lapse, I'm back to full speed as of this morning. life is not so stressful, a couple of the recent issues have been resolved.
My daughter got a place in the second round of offers in the school she wanted.
Work: we passed our BRC audit "A" grade so major contract is safe.
Mother's cancer will be operated on in the next 4 weeks and if successful there should be no need for chemo.
I have an appointment with an endocrinologist this Wednesday so hopefully we can get the Thyroid back in line.

So for this week's weigh in....... very happy no gain still 178, however without the exercise i feel flabby. Goals: back to the 30DS starting tonight, get the fridge stocked with prepared salads, fruits and veggies.

I have slept a little better since mid week so lets hope it continues.

Thanks to one and all for your support over the last couple of weeks.
    Linda
