    hi Ladies,

Half pound for me this week. I plan on working out all week- along with Thanksgiving morning. There are 13000 ( yes , thousand ) people that come to Buffalo to run in the Turkey trot ( 100th anniversary of the race ) and I plan on doing something. Maybe not the 5 miles, but I will certainly move something that day.

The turkeys defrosting and the groceries are bought. Today starts the pie planning...I LOVE pie. I am certainly thankful this year. I've come really far in this journey and I am excited to reach the new year. My SIL kept staring at me the other day ( at her sons birthday party )....she said you just don't look like yourself, it's amazing the transformation you've made. I hadn't seen her is a few months. So naturally I felt terrific. It certainly keeps me motivated.

I ate over 2300 calories the other day and it didn't even phase me. I know I am working out hard enough that I can enjoy them. According to my book, I should be eating over 2000/ day for lifting. YEA!! I won't do that every day, but it was certainly the most I've logged since April when I started here.

My Rules of Lifting for Women book came last week and my daughter has started to join me. School will be out in another month and we will be super strong women starting the new year. Totally stoked !

Gwen and Keri, I hope you feel better soon. Donna ..how are those ribs ??

    Have a great week !

Blew it all weekend! I thought I didn't have junk food in the house, but I made "healthy" pumpkin pie and had too much. My husband bought a jumbo pack of Wheat Thins which I haven't eaten in years. Who knew you could gorge too much on wheat thins and hummus? There were other transgressions too, but I think I am back on the wagon for a few days before Thanksgiving.

I'll check back later to catch up on your successes and challenges.

I am continuing to relose what I gained. 2 more pounds to get where I was. I seemed to have gotten rid of my cold rather easily. That or I am about to hit another stage. I made a delicious vegetable soup for myself and family yesterday and it was so healthy too. Anyway I felt healthy enough to go to aquafit today. I will be happy if I can at least get in the 210s by Christmas.

Sam as I can well tell you a .2 loss is not only a bit of a loss it isn’t a gain. Maintaining even has benefits so good job keeping the scale going in the right direction.

Holiday cheer started last week, and it showed up this morning on the scale, boo! It's a good learning lesson, though, before I did more damage. Thank goodness for these group check-ins! So, now I am thinking of strategies to withstand the onslaught of yumminess tempting me for another month. Two thing for sure... less alcohol and more exercise!

Oh no I have gotten another cold. At least they weren't back to back like they were last fall. My daughter, my lead teacher, some of the kids, and my sister had one so I guess it was inevitable but really except when I am losing weight I don't tend to get them. I even upped my calorie goal recently but maybe I needed to do it sooner. Anyway I will be resting and doing my homework today. I think I may be able to fit in a small walk or stationary bike ride. I forgot to weigh in this morning but yesterday I had a small loss. So I am getting rid of some of the pounds I gained. Hope you all stay well.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

I'm checking in early this weekend, as I have a very busy weekend getting ready for our bus trip to NYC. And I'm working a few hours tomorrow to earn a bit of extra cash, plus I'm still trying to put our new bedroom together (furniture finally came after 7 weeks - will post a pic when I get it all done.) I also have to finish the hat I'm crocheting because I wanna wear it on the trip, have to do some shopping to make sure the boys have enough supplies while we're away, go to the bank for US cash, do laundry, do all the regular weekend chores/errands, pack, etc, etc, etc, - you get the picture!

Then when I get back, I have to do a Christmas photo shoot the very next day for a client and start working on a hat that a co-worker ordered for her daughter for Christmas. I guess I'm never gonna get that sleep thing under control. The past week, I've been up till 12 or 1am every night and up between 6 and 7am every day. It is starting to catch up with me. Hmmmm, wonder if I can squeeze in a nap this weekend. Doubtful!

So, sleep will not be my goal for next week - too much partying to do anyway. I think my main goal for the week will be just to maintain. And to log (I hope there are lots of wifi hotspots because data roaming charges are outrageously expensive and I don't want to have to start over again at day 1. I should be hitting 200 days during our trip.)

So, anyway, I lost 1.7 pounds this week and currently stand at 257.7. I've started using my new game for PS3 - EA Sports Active 2 and it's quite fun. I enjoy it more than the 30DS, because you have different routines every day. But I find it has trouble reading some of my movements sometimes, so that can get annoying. I like that it has a heart rate monitor and tells you how many calories you burned, so I can see how close it is to what MFP says I burned. So far it's been relatively close.

Wishing you all a great week and we'll talk when I return from my adventure!

What did i do this week? I exercised like mad, cleaned every nook & craney of my home, then cooked for hours & hours, all in anticipation of a weight gain! I told myself for days not to weigh myself out of fear of a weight gain .... THEN, I woke up this morning and decided to let it be what it's going to be. I weighed in at 175.9 on Thursday morning then proceeded to feed 34 people just to start all over again on Friday to feed another 18. I had a blast but ate horrible. VERY HORRIBLE! So what did I learn? I burnt one hell of a lot of calories to prevent a weight gain ... Was it worth it? NOT AT ALL!!! When Christmas comes I'm going to have more self-control. I still don't feel good physically after eating what I ate and drinking thousands of calories. While in written word it doesn't look so bad, i can truly tell you it so wasn't worth it in the end!

Yawn!!! I'm tired. I've been volunteering nights at http://www.gardendlights.org/

Feast week 2011 was a success. I still lost a bit of weight. I enjoyed everything I liked, I just didn't pig out AND I got right back to the same as usual routine right away.

I had a successful week. Family- shopping- fun and food. I didn't weigh in today. I'll wait till Tuesday. I hit the gym on Saturday and today with my daughter. We had an amazing weekend shopping. Everything is done for Christmas gifts except for a gift card for two family members and my ladies at work. I don't know if I gained or stayed the same. I can't imagine I lost considering I had pie for dessert every day since Thursday. Today was fresh pineapple, but we dipped it in chocolate.

My gym ran a special for Black Friday. Instead of $240 for the year, it's $149. So everyone in the family had a year added onto their membership. YEA!! The commitment is there for another year.

I just finished week 3 for my Rules of Lifting for Women. I must say...I really love the program. I can squat 90# and deadlift 75#...I didn't know I had it in me. :drinker: I look forward to it every time I go to do a workout.

I didn't log in on Turkey day, so I broke my sign in record  Oh well....just like the scale , it's just a number. I was so busy cooking I just didn't have time to sit in in front of the computer. Nothing like a fresh start....hmmm where have I heard that one ??

We took new photos for the month of December. I've been trying to do it each month. As great as I feel... I still look at photos and cringe. (Especially since I'm in shorts and a sports bra. ) Although the photo from February is especially awful. My back shot looks like there is a notebook down my shorts  It's kinda square. Maybe someday I'll have the nerve to post them. For now, they are locked away in my computer for my eyes only.

Have a wonderful week. And safe travels to tannyb!

Well there you go, the backward slide has happened:grumble:
We are into the silly season in work, no time to think let alone eat properly or exercise.
I don't think there is any point trying to set goals for the next couple of weeks, that would just be setting myself up to fail.

Mixed bag, ladies. I'm delighted to be back on MFP and recommit to getting healthy. I had to quit when I learned I was pregnant. Unfortunately, I miscarried. :brokenheart: My doctor and OB have cleared me to get back on target and be on a diet. Thanks for your patience, ladies. I look forward to following through to the home stretch and end with you!

Well, I guess I got myself into a jam. I strayed before and during Thanksgiving. I seem to be back on track this week and I'll be moving forward and aggressively pursuing results. At this point, I am not sure I will make my goal, but I am going to give it a real effort. My husband made chocolate chip cookies last night and this morning and I wasn't even tempted. I hope he stops before my willpower changes.

I am totally impressed with your upbeat and positive attitude in the face of a major personal loss. I wish you all the best in achieving your weight loss and personal goals.

Well there you go, the backward slide has happened:grumble:
We are into the silly season in work, no time to think let alone eat properly or exercise.
I don't think there is any point trying to set goals for the next couple of weeks, that would just be setting myself up to fail.

While I can appreciate your sentiment, I hope this doesn't mean you are giving yourself permission to blow it and eat whatever you want for the rest of the year. As difficult as it may be, trying to stay focused on your goals, even if it's only to maintain this month, is a worthwhile endeavor. I am going to try real hard to refuse to get caught up so much in the holiday activities that it distracts me from what is really important.

Now off to go decorate the Rotary Christmas tree at the local museum!

Happy "late" Thanksgiving to all my American friends. Well we are moving into the holiday season where it seems to be the norm to gain weight... so what are we all going to do about it??? I have been off/on the last little while as you all know... I am trying to get back on! For me exercise is the biggest thing for me to loss weight and living in Northern Canada where winter means cold, snow and dark exercise is tough!!! Walking for me at lunch was the best (which I did from May until September, and it was an awesome way to get away from my desk and work at lunch) as I am usually both unbelievably busy and tired in the evenings and the 16 - 18 hours of darkness in the winter does not help with the tiredness.... so starting today... I took up doing the stairs in my building at work... up and down up and down.. .hopefully I can keep with this until spring and I can get back outside for walks. My goal not to gain between now and January and hey if I loss it is a BONUS!

What about you what are you going to do to combat the holiday season????

I'm BACK!! Wonderful trip! We logged over 150 miles on foot in 15 days and 2 days were pretty much all car travel and another 2 days we were on the bullet train to/from Kyoto. Not too shabby. I maintained my weight which was really all I was hoping for. I'm still fluctuating a bit, due to travel/water I'm sure. I've started logging again but I'm taking it slowly on the exercise to let things sort of "rest" a bit.
