copying my earlier post for the recipe!:
Lauryn, perspective is important but so is balancing that with honouring your own reality in its own context. HUGS!! :flowerforyou:

Tiff, good luck this week!

B, glad you've got your head level about it.

I'm having an amazing day today. It's SO nice out and I got my chest & abs work out in (as I said), then a run, then a swim with Kyle, Ava & Leith, then super tasty lunch and next we're off to the beach. Kyle and the dog just went mountain biking. I also wanted to post my menu for the day. Too good not to!

1. Almond butter chocolate chip pancakes (We made the recipe up yesterday and WOW... see below)

2. gala apple w/ skim milk cheese, 2 strawberries & a 1/2 sprouted grain bagel w/ hummus, tomato & alfalfa sprouts

3. vanilla protein shake made w/ 1c skim milk & 1/2 cup blueberries

4. sodium-free Ezekiel toast w/ skim milk cheese (under the broiler for a moment)

5. large homemade bison burger on Ezekiel toast w/ low-sodium organic salsa & yellow pepper plus a small spinach salad

6. 1/2 serving chocolate protein powder plus 1 med banana & water protein shake

yummmmmmmmmmmm..........

Here's the recipe for the pancakes. Two are quite filling and an ideal macronutrient balance. Serves 3:

1/2 cup rolled oats
6 egg whites (or 12 T liquid egg white)
2 T unsweetened chocolate almond milk (or 1 extra egg white)
3 T smooth natural almond butter
1/4 cup flax meal
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (whey protein isolate)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp stevia
3 T chocolate chips

I use a 1/4 cup measure to scoop out the mix into the pan. Just mix it all up in a bowl then cook and ENJOY!!

Alright time to read Ava a book then head to the beach!!

Good morning. Well no change for me, still the same. I'm pretty good at this maintaining stuff,  . Have nothing really planned today. Just work and will probably clean up some. Last night me and the hubby went to see the new Fast and Furious movie and went Easter shopping and then came home and made homemade burritos and nachos, YUM!!!!

I get to get my car painted next week. I am super excited! I drive a Honda wagon and we are painting the bottom half silver and the top half a plum pearl then a lime green pin stripe to seperate them. Can't wait!

Well, hope everyone has a wonderful day today. Mom enjoy going out with the girls today. I forgot to pack them jackets, stupid weather. You can stop by the house and get them if you think you need them. Girls know where they are, or they should.

    Later.

morning  da* gained. knew i would, just didn't think it would be 3. but it could be worse i guess.
DH made a bet with me who would make 200 first. he has been gaining weight. he is now the highest ever. we are back on our eating plan. girls up, they have request pancakes and eggs. need to get them feed. one knocked over a plant last night need to get that cleaned. they made a tent under our dinning room table to sleep and a plant was holding one of the many blankets. should have known better oh, well it's just dirt. the plant hadn't been doing well anyway. of course i had just watered it last night. yes, shanell already thought about going by to get jackets, but, it's in the other direction. i'll see, hope by the time we leave it will be warmer. dad didn't get to bed until 5:30 anyway, so may not leave until late. but, me and girls could run out there and pick them up.

    fixed you steph....great job

Good morning sixers!!! I went for a jog this morning even after 4 hrs of sleep! I probably shouldn't workout past 9pm anymore, even if its just yoga. I laid in the bed just no way to fall asleep. Anyway, of to get in the shower. Have a great day everyone. I'm down one 3.5 lbs. I'm smiling!!!

    take care:flowerforyou:

Rhiannon, thanks for starting the new thread. Oh how I wish I lived closer to the beach. Ours is 4 hours away.... but I am leaving Friday morning for a short weekend at the beach with my mom and my little brother (he's 10) and my daughter. My husband is possibly coming.... I don't care anymore. I'm emotionally worn down, I don't have the strength to deal, so I'm just treading water. Sorry -- that became a rambling rant, of sorts. All the same, I'm excited about the beach. Do you go often? How far is it from you?

Nellie, I LOVE plum and lime and silver. You have got to post photos when it's done. And good job with maintenance!!! It's not a gain!!

AmyLou, good for you, getting up early to run indoors!!! Keep up the pace and watch that weight drop back off.

Cathy, I'm sorry dear. I have a feeling I'm in the same boat with a gain (for me, since yesterday). Don't stress dear. REMEMBER HOW FAR YOU HAVE ALREADY COME. Focus yourself again, and just enjoy time with family.

Tamm, kick@ss girl!!! You seem to be doing so great, moving forward in such a positive direction!! And down 3.5lbs.... WOW! YAY YOU!!! Like you, I cannot do nighttime workouts, they keep me UP!

I'll post more later with a weigh in. :indifferent:
I don't expect a happy weigh in. I ate two dinners last night. :embarassed:

Yay! I'm down 1.6lbs this week which I think is great (my target is 1.1 a week) and especially considering a not-so-great day on Friday. Good stuff!

Kristin, totally normal. It's weird though eh??

I think I need a small workable goal, exercise related.
I saw the 100 Crunch a Day challenge. Uh, nope. Can't do that. Too big.
    But I could do 100 crunches a week. 20 a day, M-F.
And I can possibly do more. Maybe some days I could even do 100.
I can add that to my Reward Jar list, although I haven't kept up with it in weeks.
Gotta get back to my Reward Jar and trying to do 100 crunches a week.
(I'd love to get rid of the flabby tummy, or at least lessen the jiggle. )

Thanks for the reassurance Rhiannon! It is nice to not see another big jump like last week! Nice job to you on the loss this week!!!:flowerforyou:
  • Lauryn. I am in the same boat, in terms of needing to make small goals... I got this ab workout video... it has 10 different routines and each is 8-10 minutes long... so my goal is to do one of them a day... I started last night and I feel the burn  I think small, obtainable goals, are the way to go...! :flowerforyou: You owe us 20 crunches girl!   Keep your head up!!!!! HUGS!
  • Pedal! Congrats on the loss! and as always your meal plan looks SOOOO good. :flowerforyou:

Thx RedSox, and a note on your ab work - strength and muscle gains don't happen when we're exercising but while the muscles rest. You shouldn't be doing abs every day but rather allowing 48 hours to 3 days between workouts

Lauryn, we are crazy lucky and live a block from the beach. It's PERFECT!!

Cathy, great stuff! Sounds like a nice afternoon!

It's so sad that so many of our members have disappeared... Deb, Katy, Katie, Cass, Connie...

Well, good day for us so far. Ava decided she doesn't want to do art class this session so we went to the nearest beach instead. It was nice! Now Kyle is about to put the bison burgers I just made on the bbq so that will be good

I think I'll go do my glutes and back workout now while son is sleeping.

Yeah I found you! Be patient I'm still learning...

I had a good first week excercising 5 out of the 7 days, I've been doing Jazzercise this winter and absolutely love it! Plus walking for 20 minutes each day at work. I am loving MFP learning how many calories I'm consuming is REALLY opening my eyes.
We went to Texas Roadhouse Sunday night thinking I was ordering somewhat healthy, nothing fried and no soda, yuhh huhha the steak tips, secretly hiding fat and calories in the sauce.... almost 1000 calories later I waddle out with what my daughter would say " a food baby"

    LEARNED MY LESSON!

    Have a great week all!

Oh My Gosh -- I had heard it before but forgotten it, so seeing "food baby" made me LAUGH OUT LOUD.

I did better last night, not great but much improved.
I only had ONE dinner instead of three.
Working through it, working through it.

I wasn't able to work out or weigh in like normal yesterday. I have a coworker who recently lost his father, and he was about to break down at his desk, so I asked if he wanted to go for a walk to clear his head. We walked around downtown (in the 34* wind chill, haha) for about a half hour. I may have burned 100 calories, but the emotional satisfaction of helping out someone else in their time of need outweighed any workout I could have gotten. Being there for others is what life is all about.... and having lived by that mantra, I have many many friends who are supportive of me right now. I'm a firm believer that if you do good things, good things will happen to you.

    I'll weigh in later today.

Has anyone seen the movie "I Am Sam"? During my insomniatic episode last night, I caught part of it on TBS and just CRIED. It was so moving, so sweet, so dear. I just kept crying and crying, happy tears, sad tears, laughter tears. I think I need to rent it now.

Hello all. I got on the scale this morning. It is not good. up another 2 pounds. I just cant figure it out. We have been eating well all week. Actually have not had a bad meal yet since Friday. It has me puzzled. I am still less than 2 weeks post surgery so I am just not going to stress too hard about it.

Yesterday was a stressful day but I didnt binge or anything. It was my dad's birthday so I spent much of the day remembering him and wishing he was still with us.

I am out of sorts today. I feel a little spacey! Yikes. Hopefully it passes quickly.

Congrats to all who have lost weight. Way to go! I hope to join you soon! I must join you soon.

Sounds like you are super busy. I am sure you love it though. Nothing like being so very active in our kids lives. They certainly benefit from it later in life!

We hope to have you back soon!

    I previously erased my ticker.
    Modified, I've replaced it.
25lbs to go. I was at 19lbs to go only 3 weeks ago.
Gotta focus, gotta focus, gotta focus.
I have all of April, May and a few days of June until my 10th class reunion.
    I'd like to look stunning.

Well, you already are stunning-- so let's get that straight right now.

As weird as this sounds, find your comfort in the control you've gained over this enemy. When hubby lost his job last year, it was oddly calming to know I wasn't going to drown my freaked out emotions in food because I was on my way to conquering this.

You can do this, woman-- glad to see your ticker back. You're stronger than all you're going through-- you'll lose your last 25.

    Good morning ladies!

Lauryn, that is indeed a great way to spend some time - it's so great to have real relationships with people in your life. Truly, that's what it's about!!

Connie, do what you need. Of COURSE you're welcome here :flowerforyou:

Cathy, Kristin, Shanell, Tamm, Tiff, Amy, AmyLou, RedSox... HI!!

Well I'm pleased as punch that I weighed in today at the same as yesterday. My weight *seems* to be fluctuating less and I'm hoping that means I've found something that works now in having upped my cals by 200 a day!

It's another beautiful sunny day here so we need to get ourselves fed and get outside! Have a great one ladies
