I went to a buffet for Mother's Day and I don't know what the heck I ate. How am I going to enter food?:laugh:
HAHAHA just skip the day.. consider it a freebie.
I always log it the best I can....at least I'll have an idea later on what happened - or you could in the comments put buffet just as a reminder....0 -
Oh yea...I did a loooot of walking yesterday! My BF needed new shoes so we went from store to store looking for ones he liked ( I swear he's pickier than a girl :laugh: ) so I got a look of walking in. And in the process I bought myself shoes and a shirt. :bigsmile: We went to walmart 'cuz he's into hats now and I bought some sunglasses, and now I have all kinds of pictures of him in girl shades and sideways hats. :laugh:

Rach - sounds fun and thank him for being so picky - it helped you get some exercise in for the day....my son is SO picky it's crazy....my hubby will window shop for months before he'll buy anything so we go store to store looking at the same stuff over and over and over again - until I finally buy it cuz I am tired of looking at it0

Im not a fussy shopper.. I know what I want ahead of time.. I go in, get what I want and leave.
Yesterday was HORRIBLE for me!! I had a bun with cheese for breakfast... Then I had a little piece of banana bread and a small cookie at church.. Then after we played tennis for an hour.. Then for lunch I had a ham sandwich and a HUGE cinnamon bun.. and a homemade hemp seed brownie.. Then.. I went to hang out with my brother and his friends.. baaaaaaaad idea! I had LOTS of BBQ chips, some cookies... and about 4 cups of pepsi!! (I dont even like pop!!) This morning I feel like crap! And am sooooooooooooooo thirsty!! I hope this doesnt put too big of a curve on my weight!! I havent weighed yet.. still hanging in there and wont weigh until Wednesday :ohwell:0 -
This last 2 hours at work can't go fast enough! I'm planning to do an hour of legs and back work tonight! :drinker:0

Hi gang! Well got back from Fargo, didn't get to see j_g, but we'll try again. Shopped and walked around like crazy with my DH and my 12 yr. old daughter. We had soo much fun! So different with only 1 kid around to spoil-and nice! Had a lot of laughs anyway. And a bunch too much too eat...at least we moved lots, and exercised in the hotel gym once too.
Tonight-Subway salad my son made me for Mother's Day (he works there). I was so happy he gave me it. Anway, gonna exercise tonight. Back to the old grind...put on 2 lbs...:grumble:0 -

Well I'm off to do Legs & Back after sitting around for awhile debating it. I just feel like blah. I've come right in around my 1400cal goal for the day but I only got 1 cup of water. Maybe that's why I fell like crap. Oh well...workout for an hour, shower and get to bed. Maybe I'll get up at 5am tomorrow so I can workout and not miss BL! Plus my classes start on Wed.! Eeek! :noway:0

Only drank 6 cups today. A cup is an 8-ounce glass, right? I am sooooo thirsty but I need to search for some motivation so I don't stop for the pantry on the way to the fridge. I'm scared. Must . . . have . . . willpower . . . :happy:0

I'm back on the wagon! School's amost over so I will have plenty of time to exercise once it is. I got in 40 minutes of walking and some strength exercises today. Yay! And I've drank almost 3 bottles of water.0

Just finished up my workout. 60min of fast paced strength training...467 calories burned . :bigsmile:
I think I'll treat myself to a bit of chocolate protein shake and a shower now. :drinker:0 -

Just finished my strength workout for the day. I did 40 minutes of chest and triceps. I did a 56 minute bike ride earlier in the day w/my wife. A total of 1098 calories burned today... I am pretty wiped, too. I hope y'all had a great weekend and I hope all the moms had a very Happy Mother's Day.0

Chrissyh - which couch to 5k plan are you following? I have found so many on the internet. I am doing a 5k this summer with my dad and fiance and have just started training but could use some good tips.0 -
Heya Blues... I'm still muddling through this week and it's just started! I got some good news today, though! I got an A on my first assignment!!! So, hopefully the six I did after that will be passable as well since I did them all about the same. I don't even care about my GPA anymore because even if I get a D in this class, I still have something like a 3.5. And really, it's not like my degree is doing anything to get me a job at this point. :laugh: Whew! One more assignment to finish up tonight and then two papers by Friday! Maybe I can find some time to work out! I managed to use my daughter as resistance while doing some ab and leg exercises when she wouldn't play by herself. She enjoyed playing airplane and laughing at my extreme discomfort.
Looks like the rest of you checking in are doing pretty great. Anyone who fell down this last weekend, pick yourself back up! A few days will not define the rest of your life!!!0 -
I would like to give a cheers to all of you who are going to school and trying to figure out this whole diet thing. Also to all of you who work FT and still manage to do it because I don't know if I could do it all. Im a stay at home mom that is on disabilty and I find it hard. Today instead of jogging my 2 miles i ended up only walking 1 because of my back. Ugh i hate when that happens. So way to go everyone. :drinker:
O by the way i watched ellen today and they are coming out with the EA sports active its only $60 I think I'm going to pick one up. THey are coming out on the 18th. That would help me on the hot days that I can't run outside. Just thought I would let you guys know about it also. CHeck it out on youtube. Looks pretty cool. I will check amazon first to check reviews but so far I have heard great things about it. :flowerforyou:0 -
J_g4ever I haven't heard of that (the EA sports active). I'll have to check it out. I'm always up for something different and new.
I've been very busy with work and my mother in the hospital but I've managed to get in all of my water every day and exercise. I actually went to the gym this last Sat and stayed for 3 different classes. I had alot of fun and burned a record 1500 calories. (I was wiped out though) I guess I needed the "mental health' break.

Hey everyone!
I saw something really disturbing this morning... A SCHOOL BUS full of KIDS running a RED LIGHT, almost t-boning a car!!!! :noway: And these people are allowed to drive these precious kids around!?!?
And it wasn't like the went through a yellow that turned red when they were part way across. This car got a green and was partway through the intersection when the bus came flying through 35-40mph. Ridiculous! :grumble:
Anyway. I had an egg and a few slices of turkey bacon this morning, and then decided that wasn't quite enough. I don't like ending up with 700cal left to eat for dinner, because there isn't really anything in my house to eat right now. Oh crap! That reminds me, I wanted to put the turkey burgers in the fridge to thaw while I was at work. Whoops. Anyway, so I had a piece of whole wheat bread with a bit of butter too.
I figure after work today I'll head home and go straight into my workout, so that I can do that and shower before BL is on. And I don't have time to put it off until it's too late.
jenn - Yea, since I go to school online, I only get a week inbetween terms, but at least my classes are only 10 weeks long.0 -

Okay, this is really embarrassing. :explode: And, while I was doing it, I kept asking myself why... and couldn't come up with an answer. :indifferent: I have to find an answer! Does anyone else struggle with binging?! I didn't realize it was a problem until recently.I had a big breakfast. I won't say what, but... I'm left with around 300 cals for the day before exercise. Good news is, I didn't go over my sodium... which is a big thing for me. BUT, for some reason, I just felt SO hungry this morning and I kept eating and eating and eating.........
Luckily, I'm absolutely not hungry at ALL this morning. I'm going to lunch with a couple friends at Ruby Tuesday's, so the salad bar is calling my name. I know I won't over-do it at the salad bar, so I'm not scared there. I'm having a baked potato for dinner, so I know I'll be over my calories, but I am going to work out and get some - if not all - of them back.
I just don't understand what I did this morning or how to stop it.0 -

leigh-if you have a good workout, you'll burn enough cals to eat - don't starve yourself or you'll start a bad pattern all over again...be sure to eat some protein with all the fiber0 -

I have the same issues sometimes, with healthy food and unhealthy. I've been working on getting to the root of it. I'm starting to think that I feel like I'm trying to prove something by being overweight. When my dad got remarried, my (now former) stepmom, was a freak about organics and all that....which I never understood because she smoked and drank like a bottle of wine a day....but anyway, I didn't care for her at all so in turn didn't like anything I associated with her. She also made me drink slim fast for lunch....at school....in the 8th grade. Talk about embarrassing, I used to wrap them in aluminum foil so no one would know. I also had to take appetite suppressant pills before dinner, and eat off of a smaller plate than every one else. All the while I had bags of chips and crap hidden in my room to devour before bed, just so I felt that 'haha you can't control me' satisfaction.
Anyway, I'm still working on seperating, eating well and controling portions and stuff from the negativity surrounding it all, and at times I feel like maybe I give up on this lifestyle so easy because it'd be like I'm giving in or something. Like she was right. I don't know, its all kind of jumbled up in my head and really hard to figure out, so I feel your pain! :flowerforyou:0 -
I have measured myself today.. and I have lost 4 inches all together from the last time I measured! :bigsmile:
Will weigh in tomorrow.. Hope it has gone down especially since on Sunday and last night right before bed I went a little over board :sick:0 -

My daughter rides the school bus in winter, and has told me horror sories about how the kids have bets which curb and peoples yard the bus will hit and run over. She said her and her friends made some Kindergardeners cry because they overheard them talking about if the bus flipped over! Not meaning too upset them of course, but the older kids sit near the back and wonder if they'll make it to school in 1 piece some days! I phoned and freaked out, and they got a new driver, but is just as bad and is mean too. She rides her bike to school now.
Leigh, you think you're bad, I ate breaky at 1210 last night cause I had such a bad headache I thought may be it was my blood sugars. (I had exercised 45 min prior). So now I feel like a pig cause it was a bun and fried breaded chicken! Of course the weight is up to-I need to flush out the sodium!
Going to a Fundraiser supper tonight-stay tuned for the damage report...
Rach-you have acknowledged you're food probs, now you can work on dealing with it. What an aweful Stepmom! I'm so sad for you....

I had a couple bites of my brother's birthday cake with my lunch, just enough to taste, but have no idea how to figure out how many calories it is. It's just plan chocolate cake with white (food coloring) icing, made all from scratch. I have no idea how many ounces I ate either, and was hoping I could just pick a random cake in the system that had cubic inches or something, but i don't see one. I wonder what an ounce of cake looks like. :huh:
Edit: I googled it and all sources lead to about the size of a pack of cigarettes? Sound about right?0
