The rudest thing anyone said to you about your weight?

We've all gotten the looks, the stares, heard the whispers behind our backs. But what was the rudest thing anyone ever said to your face about your weight? Mostly interested in what strangers have said... we all know our loved ones can be the most cruel at times, no matter how well intended.
I worked customer service and an Asian gentleman frequented our place and was always polite and quiet. After many visits, one day he said, "Where you find pants so big?"
At that time I was in about a size 18-20... I wore jeans to work, and had many different pairs. I just smiled and said, "Oh, there are LOTS of places!" lol

My ex dumped me because I'm fat. You can imagine how it could break one's confidence and self esteem. It was the most painful one for me.0

I went to a psychiatrist about some severe depression I was having, and I told her I wanted a weight neutral drug if she was going to prescribe one because a drug that made me gain weight would just depress me more. She told me, "Then go get bariatric surgery, and you won't be depressed anymore." Seriously? >.<0

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I wasn't.0 -
My boyfriend's ex didn't like me so she was always complaining how fat I was, which I found rude because she brags about how she throws up to stay thin! How dare she!0

that's horrible and the sad part is there is a lot of doctors that are like that. Every time I ended up in the hospital for mental illness the doctors would always be focused on my weight instead of why I was actually in the hospital. I still haven't found a good doctor who wont focus on what i'm there for.0 -
I've had a few people ask me if I'm sick, since i've lost weight. Rude!!0

had lost about 70 lbs at that time and i was told that it didnt look like i lost any weight..wtf? i told this person 'oh yea heres my proof (showed them a picture of me @ 320lbs from my phone) what do u have to say now?' this person still had the nerve to say...well your still fat :noway:0

Been there! More than once. Way more than once...0 -
I went to an orthopedic doctor for my knee pain. The little man (he was about five inches shorter than my 5'6") said to come back when I was as thin as I could be and then he would look at my knee.0

I got that about two years ago. Stung like hell, especially since I've had a miscarriage. Not pregnant, sweetie, just fat.0 -
Nice teenager at the till of the supermarket:
"You should go before me (smiling), in your condition you should not wait standing in a queue" (ie meaning pregnant)
Heuuuuu.... wait...... what?
Right ok, might have save me 10min but I will always remember how awful I was feeling.0 -
I came home from a holiday & the security guy in our building said "WOW, you got fat!"
I was gutted since id made such an effort to lose before i went & had obviously put it all on again in a week lol0 -
At my heaviest my wedding and engagement ring wouldn't fit. I went into a jewellers to buy a cheap band to wear as a replacement and the assistant pulled out a huge gold band. Now even when I'm big i have freakishly small fingers (I now wear a size I/J after a 70lbs loss) so was probably after a size M when I was shopping. She said " Oh you have small fingers, I'll just get one thats a NORMAL size"

An (ex) boyfriend said, "So and so and his girlfriend asked us out for a meal" "That will be nice" I replied. He then said "But I told them we were busy" "Why?" says I.
"Because his girlfriend is really slim and attractive and I didn't think you woul be comfortable as you have been complaining you feel ugly because you are so fat"
He was soooooooo out of there.:mad:0 -
I infrequently went to this one gas station by my house to pick up drinks and gum on my way to clinical. The man behind the counter told me "If you lost weight you would be really pretty. I'll help. You can't buy these things here. Get out."
He wouldn't sell me a cappuccino and a pack of gum :sad:0 -
The rudest thing a person said to me was " are you pregnant" A cousin of my husbands asked me that!! Well Im 56 yrs old it would be a sort of a miracle being I had a hyste:drinker: rectomy and she knew it, the thing that kills me is shes fat too..well after that I started dieting and I lost my weight, she is still ignorant and you cant lose an attitude!!!! the joke is on her!!! she did me a favor!!!!!:bigsmile:0

Getting changed in the changing rooms at a shop with my son:-
Josh 'whys your belly so fat and squidgy?'
Me 'When you were a baby you used to live in there'
quiet pause whilst he thinks this comment through
Josh 'How many babies have you got in there now?'
All I could hear was chuckles from other changing rooms.
I had to laugh but inside I was crying!!0 -

Same here. Everytime I go to a Doctor with some illness, they would just end up saying that it is because I am overweight if they can't diagnose what's really wrong!!1 -
I am amazed to see how insensitive other people are when it comes to comments to persons with weight issues. Why do these people even have to comment in the first place.
What really bothers me is when these 'people' are when health care providers making the comments.
As one of the radio show hosts in my area says 'I truly live in a world I don't understand'0 -
I laugh about it now but when I was about 15 my grandmother and I were in the audience at a dance recital and a very full-figured girl performed a contemporary ballet piece. My grandmother in a VERY loud whisper turns to me and says "Girls like that shouldn't do ballet. Ballet dancers should be slight. I mean it's ridiculous... It would be like you doing ballet!" Wow... low blow Nan! At the time I was 5'8" and about 140 pounds and at a VERY tender age! Thankfully I'd grown up with the inappropriate comments so now it's a funny story I tell0

"Hey, why are you eating?? you are fat."
Being the only meal for the day after a long day in class. Really broke my heart. The person who said it is weight more than I do. Maybe she is just jealous.0 -

You should of replied that's funny that you calling me fat, have you looked in the mirror before calling someone else fat?I dont know what mirror you have being using because from what i can see and I'm sure most people will tell you here in class if we had to run a poll that most of them will agree that your fatter then me. and then you should of finished with the middle fingers!0 -
I had a severe worker's comp injury to my knee. Someone in the comany had left a piece of equipment sitting where it wasn't supposed to be - right in the middle of an aisle on a blind corner. I don't walk slow - I rounded the corner and **WHAM** cylinder used to lift 200+ pound rolls of paper meets kneecap. Within 15 minutes, I couldn't even stand up.
Due to the fact that it was workers comp, I had to go to *their* doctor. They sent me to physical therapy. I kept telling them it hurt too bad and my knee should not sound like paper ripping every time I bent it. 4 weeks I went through this. At the same time, every time I sat down at my desk, my knee would swell, causing swelling all the way down my leg and into my foot. My foot would swell so bad, it didn't even look like I had toes.
The doctor kept saying the injury was due to my weight.
Finally, a month later they did a scope on it. My lateral tendon was almost severed in half and my kneecap looked like shredded wheat. My lateral tendon had been shoved up under my kneecap and the ripping paper sound that I heard was that tendon being cut.
Needless to say, I got a lawyer. Oh, and I'm 28% disabled in that knee now. I have so much nerve damage to it, when I kneel, I can't feel anything.
This was just about 7 years ago.0 -
I don't think the guy meant to be rude, but one time I was in a shoe store about to walk out of the door and a guy ran up to the door to hold it for me smiling and looking at my stomach and said "Congratulations!"
... he thought I was pregnant...0 -
my brother. WOW you got SO FAT!!! what did you eat there (i study abroad), your classmates?0
-
Never really been told anything rude about my weight. I used to hate when my grandmother would call me "big boy" and I can't stand when people call me "HOSS." I don't have to worry about it as much since I'm not living as far south as I used to, but it got pretty annoying. I'm a big dude, just not "fat" per se, so I guess they thought it was cool.0

I think one of the worst I had was due to it being strangers (these tardy little turds that cruise around in cars being a general menance to society)
I was out riding my bike (so it wasn't like I was laying on the couch!!!) and they came past in a rowdy car speeding etc (just the sort of people I want to see locked up and car crushed) and one of them yelled out of the car window "someone could do with a salad".0
