I get real annoyed when MFP closes out my day and people comment to nit pick on me using mayo or BBQ sauce even though I am short like 825 calories for the day!!!!
I'm never short that much, but if I'm under, I hate it when people nit-pick also...0 -
Co-worker #1 - OMG you are so skinny! What size are you now?

Or people that try to tell me I should be eating potatoes because it's really good for you. Yeah it might be good for you, but I have PCOS, I know what's good for *me* and potato is not it.
THISSSSSS!!!!! Potatos are good for you. Yeah. Not for me. (I have PCOS too.) I am 32, I have been eating like a pro for a little while now. I know what'll put on weight. I know what'll take off weight. I'm trying to balance a normal way of eating.

My family doesn't know I am have started this lifestyle change, they just know I have quit soda.
But my Aunt started talking all fast and excited one day about how she was losing so much weight and she was so happy. So I asked her if she was working out or eating healthier.
She just gives me this look like "omg no!" and say, "No! I started this new thing where I can eat whatever I want, but I just can eat a lot!"
Oh, I said, so you are watching what you eat then? Eating the things you love in moderation and eating healthy otherwise?
"No! I HATE healthy food! Here I will give you the secret to my success" She pulls out of her purse...an over the counter appetite suppressant.
Ugh.
I didn't accept it, and needless to say, she stopped taking it and has gained the weight back in a very short amount of time.
Do it right next time.

...and lets say I am having a PIECE OF CHOCOLATE, he will make this "boop" noise, and use his arms to pump out to indicate "fat", because he thinks its funny.

I moved away after high school and have lost 35 pounds, and have 5 to 10 more to go. People who knew me 5 or 6 years ago see me and don't know who I am until I say 'hi' and they think about it. Then they look shocked and always say something like:
"Oh, is that you? You were heavier back then, right? Well, you look so great now."
Somehow, it never feels like a complement.
Also, I got both of these annoying comments from my mom (who is quite large, pre-diabetic and doesn't care,) in one day - WTF, mom?
"You look great, you're so skinny, you shouldn't lose anymore weight, ok?" (I'm a size 8, I'm not 'so skinny' - I'm average.)
[Then, an hour later while trying on a bathing suit:]
"Oh, you can't wear that! Look at your tummy - you're so curvy. You're just too much woman for a two piece."0 -

Whenever my boyfriend and I have to take our relationship long distance, the first things he always asks when we finally get the chance to catch up are "have you exercised today? Have you taken your vitamins?". I know it's harmless enough, because those things are priorities to him and his own lifestyle, but I'm not quite there yet! I was brought up in an unhealthy home, and I get annoyed he doesn't ask things like "how was your day? How is your family?"0

the number one most annoying thing i hate is.........."omg how did you lose so much weight??"..........I feel like saying back to them just to see their reaction "cocaine, heroin a little bit of speed and a whole lot of sex with strangers!" hahaha!!! or "I climbed the magic beanstalk where a pixie gave me a magical diet pill to make me skinny overnight" lol

Most annoying thing- People saying that they are on a "diet." I associate that with a temporary thing and it's a way of thinking that sets you up. If people ask if I'm on a diet (which they rarely do because I'm always eating whatever I want) I tell them "hell no."0

One of the worst things is when you don't have a lot to loose in comparison to other people, and when you mention that you've put on a stone (14 lbs) and you want to nip it in the bud, colleague/family/friends say "but you don't need to loose weight, i hope you don't have an eating disorder etc etc"
All i want to do is loose the weight ive put on over the last year due to falling into bad habits of the past (Take away twice a week and lots of latte's), and i feel like i'm being watched like a hawk now as though i'm doing something wrong.

Yes muscle does weigh more than fat. I have a girlfriend who start running to lose weight. She looks great and told me that she has never looked so good but weighed a lot more than she did at the same size because her legs were so toned.0 -

Mine is.... "you are skinny, you shouldnt have to watch what you eat".
Do people really think skinny people can eat everything and stay that way? I have a healthy body because I watch what I eat and exercise.
^This. And yes, I do think that they think that. Some don't see that one of the reasons they are overweight is simply by what they are eating.
Or "you need to gain weight, you are too skinny." When I have an issue with my belly resembling a mini muffin top over my jeans, I consider that too much flab and want to do something about it NOW. My weight is at a healthy number, but the flab from eating bad food is not. I wish it wasn't rude to reply with "well now I see why you look like you do"0 -
Not sure if it related to this thread but I get annoyed when women who are a size 0 (very, im mean very skinny) and always talk about how fat they are and need to lose weight. I think most do it for attention. Stop it or you will look like a female version of achmed the dead terrorist.
I do seem to have a problem with people not respecting me being on a diet. They always try to get me to eat very unhealthy fatting food and says "eat, you look fine". I have a goal and want to meet that goal so its important for people to respect im trying to be more fit. Thats why I love this site, many great people on here who are awesome at being supportive.0 -

Technically, no it doesn't. 1 lb = 1 lb. It's the amount of space that the two take up is what's different. Muscle is leaner, so takes up less space in your body. I actually weigh more when I'm leaner from working out if you are to go by the amount of mass that's there.0 -
I get so fed up with the anorexic 'wisdom' aspect. No, I am not anorexic. No I have not lost too much weight. Yes, I do like to feel thin rather than fat.
And when I put 6lb on over Christmas, and mentioned to a mate that I was going to lose them over January she said that I looked better with a little fat on me. Sorry, do not even go there.0 -
The most annoying comment I get at the moment from the boyfriends parents is that my kinect games on the Xbox aren't exercise...
I play dance central on Med/hard difficulty for 1 hour a day. My heart rate goes up and I sweat, how is it not exercise?
But this is coming from people who are very overweight and don't exercise.
They also get on my back if i eat something with the tiniest bit of fat or salt in it. Very annoying.0 -
The most annoying comment - 1. "Life is too short to be dieting"....really, because I am doing this to have a long healthy life. Besides, just because life is short does not mean everyday should be a freakin free for all!
2. You don't need need to lose weight. OK, no one gets to decide how I want to look but me. I am the one that has to be happy about my weight.0 -
When people know youre dieting they get all stupid and say dumb *kitten*. For example, at work, I took a small piece of brownie, just to get the taste, and a co-worker says : I thought you're on a diet?' so I said "who says I'm not, mind your business"0

I haven't read the entire thread, so I may be duplicating. It drives me nuts when I hear people tell me that they're doing their cardio in order to eat a treat....that mentality will keep most people from ever losing weight.0

I typically don't share my info with others except for those on MFP who are on the same journey for this very reason. But if I had to say something about annoying comments these would be it-
"Oh what are you doing to lose weight?" and then they go on to tell me about an extreme diet they are going to do like my healthy, sensible eating/exercise plan will never be enough.
"Is that on your diet?"
Someone says "I'm starting tomorrow" and this occurs many times over the next months...I think what are you waiting for?
So as a result my approach is working towards a healthy eating and exercise plan each day for my lifetime and reap the positive results in weight, good health, and energy for now and in the future. I don't think of it as a diet.0
