A great way is to buy and wear
a heart rate monitor. I have a Polar, works great, tells calories burned, heart rate, etc.

TOTAL for DAY 1: 1268 Calories Burned.
Tuesday: Elliptical for 40 Minutes + 5 Min Cool down: Total time 45 Min. Cal Burned 867 (According to HRM). Abdominal Machine 20. Total # Crunches 300. Calories burned (according to HRM) 299. (I didn't do the crunches as slowly as I did yesterday and I increase the number of crunches per set to reach my year end goal to be able to do 1000 crunches).
