Marie I am glad you are resting a lot...that will help you more than anything else....I would not worry about the 2 pounds....remember last time it was 5 pounds and it came off and these will also..It is the medication they give you during surgery that has caused that gain....

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and remembered all of our FALLEN HEROS.....and their families....

I pray for our veterans and their families daily....I want God to Bless them all.....

    Have a good week....:flowerforyou:

    Hello to All,
It was 42 degrees this morning when I walked the dogs. We drove one of the most beautiful drives in North America this morning----north on US 101 to Crescent City, CA then northwest on US 199 through the Smith River Canyon. Now we’re about 100 miles into Oregon on I-5 back at the RV park with the fenced dog yard next to the RV spot, fitness room, and pool. It is 74 degrees here now and I can finally wear short pants and short sleeves.

:flowerforyou: Gayla---best wishes for a speedy recovery and good use of your “sick days”.

    :flowerforyou: Marie
take the time to make a full recovery and enjoy whatever pampering you can still get until you’re totally healed.

:flowerforyou: Elli----the two weeks in Eureka seemed long to us because it was so cold most of the time. We used our time wisely and had wonderful visits with so many people who are important to us. I am so happy to hear about the nice comments people made about your “slim self”. There might be something not so good about people telling you how great you look. Maybe your brain thinks you don’t need to be so careful now that you’ve done so well. Anyway, you know that you still want to be careful about your eating so jump back on the bus and continue on your journey.

:flowerforyou: BigGramma----we flew our flag on Monday and thought about our fallen heroes all day.

    :flowerforyou: Thotbranch
this is a great group of people dedicated to good eating and exercise. Several of us have exercise equipment that we use nearly every day.

:flowerforyou: Beth---good to hear from you again.

:flowerforyou: Sandy—you’re probably getting rested after your busy weekend. You are such a fabulous grandma.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Jeffrey and Day----I’m thinking good thoughts for you today.

:flowerforyou: Phoebe----are you getting rested before your next big trip? Where do you go next?

Jake's kids got him started on Facebook and he's been spending a lot of time with that so you may no be hearing much from him.

We are about 48 hours away from getting home. We’re trying to stay in the moment but we can’t help making lists of what to do when we get home. Jake already made an appointment for the dogs at the vet (they are both limping a bit after their big running adventure on Sunday) and for the motorhome at the repair shop (the back air conditioner isn’t working).

Now I’m headed outside for a walk in the warm weather.

    Hugs,

Wow, if you don't check in often you have a lot of catching up to do with this group.

I played cards with my 86 year old buddy then went to lunch with him and my hubby. I lost in gin and it was my turn for lunch, but still we have a good time together. I had some orange roughy for lunch with white rice and also ah hem....some wine. I am still under calories and if I get the energy to exercise I could gain some calories.

Marie, glad you are back with us, but please don't over do. We want you healthy.

Barbie, thanks for the compliment but I think all grandma's are special, we really love those grandkids.
My daughter also got me on face book and it is kind of nifty.

Welcome thotbranch, if you stick with us, you will love us.

    Talk soon,

    Good Morning Everyone!

Welcome Thotbranch! Nice to have you here. These are a very special bunch of individuals here and some of the nicest folks you will ever want to meet. I am located in Indiana and have been here for the duration! Let me know if there is anything that I can do for you!

Barbie- glad you are enjoying. We are finally getting my kind of weather here, warm! It has been raining but we need it. I have been watering the flowers and such and the rain is welcome.

Sandy- sorry about the card game! LOL Next time for you!

Gayla- Between me and you our luck is bound to improve! LOL

Elli- How is the house coming? I need an upate!

BG- glad to hear from you!

    Pheobe- Are you home now?

    Jake- get anymore golf in?

Beth- I drove by a hooters the other day and they had the "girls" out in thier parking lot with Hoola hoops! No I did not stop! (but I did notice them! LOL)

Marie- I am very happy to hear that you are doing well. I have been worried about you!

We are doing fine here. I have been cleaning carpets and such. The job search is weak at best right now. I have quite a bit out there but in this area there is just not much to even apply to right now. But I have faith and hope. It could be worse! My garden is doing ok, I have going to have to replant a few beans and cumubers. The tomatoes are all doing splendid and look very good. I have a few green peppers starting to form and the lettuce and romaine are doing great. We have a graduation party this weekend to go to for my nephew. It has the potential to be greatly entertaining! My family puts the "fun" in dysfunctional!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers. I would ask that you continue them, not only for us, but all others. There are many more in far greater need than us. Anyway, thank you again! Have a great day!

Jeffrey (I posted another new weight!)

Hi and Welcome mtgal47, you just joined. :flowerforyou: We are a great group of some seniors and those who want to be. Just kidding, we seniors want to be with the young crowd.
We share information on our lives, our happiness, our sorrows, anything that you want to talk about.
We encourage each other on our diets and our exercise, our ups, our downs. Never judge, never hollar, only give support for each other. Hope you enjoy us and stay with us.

I am so sore from my new Wii Active, especially from doing squats. :blushing: I think today I will do the elliptical and if I get enough energy maybe a little bit of Wii Active. Tonight is my bingo night so I need some extra calories for snacks.

Babie and Jake, you should be home soon, hope all is well with you. Who is the cute baby that you posted???

I am going to try and write later since I really want to get moving with my day. I have a broken nail on my pinky and it makes it so hard to type with a bandage.

I will touch base with the rest of you later.

hi everyone! We have had so much rain - today the sun is out a bit and things are STARTING to dry out. Still not enough for me to mow though and that's scary!:noway: My friend Jennifer suggested asking one of my neighbors to herd some of his sheep over here:laugh: i may have to do that!

Thanks for the encouragement Barbie - i need that to get back on track. Having a good day today. I may even make it to the gym after work - I have a young friend here working in the basement and i may need to help him. Not sure yet. The baby on your new picture is SO cute!

Hey Jeffrey - omg - 78 pounds!!!!!!!! That is AWESOME! I'm so proud of you! How's Day feeling? What's the next step? The house is coming along great! We now have drywall in the new part and the old part is having the plaster patched and skim coated! VERY COOL! Anyone who wants to check it out is welcome to look at my blog - it's: ellisnewhouse.blogspot.com

Welcome to our group MtGal! It's the BEST! Just take one day at a time with weight loss and exercise!

Sandy - you're not kidding - a lot goes on here if you miss a day or two! Oh that Wii active sounds so GREAT! I kind of fantasize that when my house is done i may get one of those for the new basement. I'm not finishing it - but it could get a mat down there and a tv and a wii maybe! How was bingo?

I'm still up a pound and a half - very frustrating but i'm going to try and NOT obscess:noway: I WILL lose the last 5 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! We had a gorgeous day today although windy. I hope the wind goes away overnight, my husband and our neighbour are supposed to be doing a balloon ride in the morning. My pear tree is in full bloom and looks so wonderful. Of course, we don't get any edible pears on it, our growing season is very short. Neil has an infected ingrown toenail on the other foot. It always seems that there is something.

Marie-- It is so unusual not to have a post from you. I hope all is well.

Phoebe -- How are you doing? I expect you are out trucking somewhere.

Jeffrey -- You ane Day pop into my thoughts so often. I hope the tests come back clean.

elli-- A little slip will do no long term damage unless you let it. You are already back on the straight and narrow and you will see that gain disappear quickly.

Sandy -- I watched the video. Wow, those girls can really move. I did vote as well. I hope eventually to be able to do the Wii Active, once I get this back working the way it should. I am going to ask my physio about yoga. She gave me a couple of exercises so we shall see.

Barbie -- You have sure had a wonderful holiday. It is always sad for a holiday to come to an end. Maybe it isn't that way when it doesn't mean that it is time to go back to work!

Beth -- Hi to you, I know you are working hard.

BG -- How is life treating you?

Hi to you new folks. I look forward to getting to know you both.

Take care and keep smiling. Gayla

    Good Morning!

Marie- Where are you? I need an update!

Gayla- Thanks for your concern. I appreciate it. Hope Neils foot heals quickly. Those ingrowns can hurt.

Elli- Nice to hear from you. I am glad the house is progressing. It will be wonderful very soon! We are doing fine, I will update down the page.

Mtgal- Just show up and you are in! Nice to have you here!

Sandy- Anything fun for the weekend coming up?

Everyone else have a great Thursday and I will check in with you all later.

We are going to the hospital today to have the first of the test run today. It should be a short visit and not an issue. More test are being scheduled for next Monday if they can get everything coordinated correctly. Hopefully we will know where we are at within 7-10 days. The waiting and the unknown are the worst. We have been through it all before about 10 years back. Please keep up in your prayers and that all comes out in our favor. I am going to get my yoga in this morning so that is out of the way for the day. I have had some really good workouts lately, but my motivation has been waning. All of you keep me moving and kick me when I need it! We are having a cool, rainy day but it is welcome. Tomorrow is supposed to be perfect. Tomorrow always are! That is the real neat feature about tomorrows.

Take care, work hard, play hard, and enjoy the day!

    Hi EVeryone,

I won at bingo, so that was exciting, I won two different pull tabs for a total of $400. I am going with my sister next Monday to a casino probably not to far from Jeffrey called the Four Winds, so winning came in handy. Hopefully, the winning streak will still be with me.

Jeff, first let me say congratulations on your 78 pound loss, 2 pounds to go to your goal. That is amazing Jeff, you should be so proud of yourself. :flowerforyou: With all that is going on in your life you need even more praise for sticking with it with all the stress. I admire you!!!!! :blushing: Whatever it is they are testing Day for I pray that it comes back negative. It sounds like you are on round two of something but stay positive, ten years ago medicine was not what it is today. I agree that the waiting is the worst, but remember no matter what, worrying won't change anything, so enjoy each day, one day at a time.

Marie, we are worried, are you okay? Please check in with us and let us know what is going on.

Gayla, it never seems to end for you, so sorry about Neils other foot. I hope you get to do something for yourself, with a little peace and contentment soon.

Elli, I looked at the pictures of your house and you really are doing a big remodel. The house was nice before the remodel, but will be really great when you are done. You have done so many things in your life as a single mom, I envy you. Your kids must be so proud of you.

Mtgal, haven't heard back from you, hope you are still with us.

Phoebe, you must still be out tooling in your truck, we miss you and wish you safe driving.

Barbie and Jake, waiting for update, you must be having a good time.

Beth, know you are very busy, but we all thought of you on Memorial Day along with all the other service people. Thank you again.

BGamma, how are you and where are you? MIss you!! :frown:

Ellen, I know you said you are traveling, so hope your trip is great.

Plans for the weekend? I am sitting for the 4 year old tomorrow, the 14 year old will spend the night Saturday night (no competition this weekend) and Sunday we are going to family day at Arlington Race Track where they will have a petting zoo and pony rides for the kids. We adults will be watching those bigger horses get some exercise around the track.

    Have a great day everyone!!

Good evening to you all. I just got back from dinner celebrating convocation for 2 of my nephews, very proud of them. On Sunday I am going to my great-nieces dance recital. I thought of Sandy as soon as it was mentioned. I go every year and always enjoy it. The seats are very comfy in the place it is being held so I should do ok. My back actually feels a lot better today after 2 really bad days following physio. I am not looking forward to physio tomorrow but if it helps I can take it. While Neil's ingrown nail is sore he is quite used to them, he gets them often. He usually sees the podiatrist about every 6 weeks to make sure nothing is happening with those crazy toes of his. We haven't been doing the regular trip since his surgery so I guess things got away on us. I am hoping his shoe will be ready for him next week, he is really ready to walk and the boot is pretty hot.

Marie-- I am so glad to hear you are doing so well. I am hoping for a fantastic result. Neil is out riding his bike. We are still having some behavior issues but they seem fewer and further between. He is grumbly tonight but he is out for a bike ride so I am hoping a smiling face will return.

Jeffrey -- Good for you for putting some focus on exercise. I tend to go for food when the stress hits!! I could learn some lessons here. I hope the test went well today.

Sandy -- Woohoo!!! Yeah for the win! I am not much of a bingo player but winning would be a good thing. I do like the casino but rarely go. Dave hates them and when we go (rarely) I give him my money that I don't intend to spend and say no matter how much I beg don't give me more!! and he doesn't! I think I have an addictive personality.

To everyone else, I hope you are having a busy and productive week. Make that a happy week and just as busy as you want to be!

Take care and keep smiling. Gayla

    Hi, Everyone,
Just a note to let you know all is well with us, on our way home up Hwy 97, Great visit with the kids and grandkids, hard to say goodbye.
Car trouble, a computer or something, It sat on the street in the next town where we went to church on Sunday. Tried several times to get it going Sunday and Monday, then finally had it towed to garage on Tues. They couldn't do anything with it so the next morning they had to load it up on the truck again and haul it the 17 miles to Hanford to the dealers. That's pretty scary because you never know what it is going to end up costing. However, it wasn't too bad, they reprogrammed the thing. We're still not sure if we can trust it so are being very careful not to turn it off except in larger cities.
Good news is that when I weighed in yesterday morning I had lost another 2 lbs, yeh! yeh! Hope the home scales are the same and I don't get carried away when we get home. Haven't been tracking anything but haven't had much appetite.
Read quite a few of the posts but won't take time to answer each one individually just now as we are ready to pack it in for the day.
All the best to all of you, really appreciate your support and news.

YIPPEE !!!

We’re home again. Jake drove 435 miles on Wednesday to get us home a day early. There’s no place like home. We’ve been busy non-stop. After the long drive, it was a challenge to find the time to meet my goal of walking 10,000 steps. I had two phone calls to make near bedtime and I rode the exercise bike during one of the calls, and walked up and down the hall during the other one.

:flowerforyou: Sandy-- ---I admire how busy and active you are. The cute baby is our grandson, Jack, who is 7 ½ months old. We got to spend time with him when we were in California. Sounds like you have a great weekend planned with grandchildren.

:flowerforyou: Jeffrey---congrats on losing another pound. You are amazing. Being unemployed has been good for your health even if it’s tough in a lot of other ways. I will continue to think thoughts of health for Day as she goes through the tests.

:flowerforyou: Mtgal---welcome to the group. This is a great place to share your successes and setbacks and to ask questions and participate in discussions. These great people have helped me along the road to health.

    :flowerforyou: Elli
I’ll go look at your blog and find out more about how your house is going. You must be so excited about the progress. Don’t forget that the last few pounds are the hardest. Keep on doing what you’re doing and you will succeed.

:flowerforyou: Gayla---you and Neil seem to have so many challenges. I’ll be thinking healthy thoughts for both of you. I’m glad your weather is getting better. I hope you’ll get the green light for doing yoga. It is so spiritual. When Jake was going to physical therapy last year he said that the therapist ought to be arrested for inflicting such terrible pain. The pain must have helped, though, because after 8 weeks of therapy he was able to play golf again. I wish a similar good outcome for you.

:flowerforyou: Marie, I’m glad to hear from you. Follow the doctor’s directions so you can be up and running soon.

:flowerforyou: Ellen---congrats on your weight loss. I know it’s hard to trust any scale except the familiar one at home. I got on the scale at the vet today when we took the dogs in. I think it weighs very light, but I enjoyed the low number. Maybe you need to have four legs for the scale at the vet to weigh correctly.

hugs to all

    Hi all,
Hope things are going well with you all... Marie... you better not make me come back to Texas and kick your butt for not taking care of yourself... I am not going to be there until Thanksgiving (I hope)
Things here are going OK... its been a long couple of weeks but things are slowing down right before the next project ramps up...this project is a little more in-depth then the last and we will be pouring a boat load more concrete. Have I mentioned the concrete here is so corrosive you get burns from it? I didn’t get burned but one of the guys did and pretty bad ones but since they don’t make concrete boots and keep them in stock at "kids R us" (I wear a men's size 3 - 3.5) the jokes never stop in this place. Oh but the best part is I have lost 1" off my waist and 1" off my thighs I have yet to find an accurate scale…so I will know more later on that aspect.

Marie… as I said take care of you and be well my friend

Barbie …. I am sure I missed this who is the cutie in the pic?

Jeff…. Sure you didn’t stop at Hooters? I have had to give up the hoop for a bit as we have had some issues with people being stupid here and I am now not allowed outside without someone there so it kind of kills the 0300 hula hooping. How is the job search going?

    Elli… How are things going?

Gayla… How is Neil doing? I would love to see pear trees in bloom

Mt Gal… welcome to the group I am the token military non senior of the group

Ellens… glad you managed to get on the road again.

    Phoebe … where is she?

Sandy…thanks for the thoughts but its just a job

Have a great weekend y'all, I will try and get on more then I have lately

    Beth
