I am a cashier in a grocery store. According to my bodybugg I burn 800 calories from lifting and walking around during a 6 hour shift. I also teach knitting at a specialty yarn shop. I am a full time student too so during school I have to be careful not to snack on vending machine things my 2 year old likes peanut butter and apples so I eat that as a snack too0

Software dev. I sit at a computer all day at work. This hasn't hindered any progress FYI.0

I work as an Engineer (7:30 to 5:30) plus I'm a grad student (part-time and very recent, yay!)
I miss school full time because I had to walk to class (surprisingly it was uphill both ways, with lots of stairs)
I get to listen to my coworkers complain about their weight but they don't do much to change it (like eating better or joining me on walks [I'd rather not go alone])0 -
i teach ballet and volunteer with special needs kids, respectively(:0

Believe it or not I'm a certified nursing assistant studying to become a nurse ...Needless to say when your overweight it's hard to point fingers at your patients and tell them to drink more water or eat a balanced diet! It's like look at the pot calling the kettle black:grumble: ..That's another reason way I started my weight loss journey!0

Web design/development. 9-5 at the desk, but I've been overweight my whole life so no the job isn't a factor in my weight issues. In fact, I've done so much better since having this job because I can now afford to buy myself healthy foods Woo hoo.0

I'm a substitute for Instructional Assistants. It's been pretty tough because I don't know from one morning to the next if I'm working, what time, what hours, what I will be doing. It varies so much, I could be on my feet all day one day, and sitting all day the next.0

Hi! No job. Worked as a job that I hated for 25 years.
Took an early retirement in 2001. Since then, was diagnosed with cancer (from Viet Nam) and then due to the treatment suffered a stroke. So, staying on track is sometimes difficult. So managing my mental state to stay true to my eating and trying to get workouts in. This is a constant journey. Best of luck on your journey.0 -

I work a 9-5 desk job for a computer company, but even though I am sitting all day, I ditched my chair for a yoga ball, and I try to mix things up throughout the day. I recently started attempting to add 10 sit ups on the ball for every hour I am at work, and I also brought in little hand weights to try and get some extra reps in throughout the day. It's a huge advantage that I don't deal with the public and no one really comes to our office, so I'm definitely taking advantage!0

I am a stay at home mom. I have been for almost three years. I thought that I would stay at home with her until she started school, but I got a phone call this morning from an old co-worker telling me about a position that came open. I worked for this company for 12 years, 6 of those years were actually in this position in accounting. It was the only position I had with the company that I really loved. Now I am not sure what to do!!! Is three years at home with her enough? I don't know!!!
I know that's not what you asked, I just found it ironic that I have this on my mind and came across this post...0 -
