Welcome to MFP :-) Great place with freindly people and some of us are in your age range. I too am 55, and I have freinds that are older too. They didn't have this place when I was younger :-( In any case I am happy to of found it now. Hope you find it as helpful as I do.0

I am 58. It was good to see your question. I followed the responses and that was encouraging-I was so feeling like I am too old to really make a difference in my health-I need to lose 150 lbs, but seeing so many trying and so many sucesses was a day brightener. Welcome!0

I will be 63 on February 12th. I have lost 35 # and I hate water also. It takes me a day and a half to drink a gallon of decaffeinated tea sweetened with stevia . So I do stay hydrated without sugar and without drinking plain water.0

My mom is on here (65) as well as my son (14). He is a football player and into health so he tracks his food too. It doesn't matter how old you are, just that you want to be healthy Welcome and Good Luck!0

Hi, I'm 57 and have been here for a few years. I am not much of a water drinker myself, so to cut back on my diet Coke addiction I went to Crystal Light Green Teas and Lipton Diet Green Teas. I do try to get a large glass of ice water in, tho. It has to be really cold for me to drink it. Best wishes!0

Use a straw to drink your water, add lemon, lime, cucumber anything to give it a little zip.0

No, I'm 57 and I'm loving My Fitness Pal!!! I've been "dormant" for several years and I'm back to exercising daily and eating healthier. I've been here for 3 weeks and can't wait to start seeing the real results of my efforts.

Hi and good luck! I'm 50 myself. About the water, I hated water too until I started working out more and sweating instead of sitting around. lol. I enjoy it a LOT more now that I'm actually thirsty! I also started drinking water whenever I went out to eat and that helped me get used to it. Try some lemon in it or maybe flavored waters? There are soo many out there and you can make your own if you dont want to buy it or deal with recycling all of those bottles.0
