love it - i think the bit about intensity is key for me - i am motivated to excerise, eat pretty well, and change things up - but the intensity of my routine is not something i ever looked at - i guess its the really important change i need to make.

"Are you working out at a high intensity"?

While I am sure there are many helpful points in this article, I wouldn't call it the bible of losing weight. Working out at a high intensity is not only not an option for everyone, but it is not necessary. When I first started here in 2008, I walked. That's it, I walked for 30 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week. Yes I was talking at a quick pace, but I would never call it high intensity. Walking is great cardio, it is easy on your joints and unlike sweating it out in the gym for a couple hours, it can be very enjoyable and something virtually everyone can do.

That's not to say it's a bad idea to work out at a higher intensity if you choose, or perhaps in order to jump start your metabolism again, but working out at a high intensity all the time is not necessary to lose weight, and perhaps one of the main reasons many people aren't motivated to try to lose weight. They think losing weight involves killing themselves at the gym, doing something they do not enjoy at all. Not enjoying a work out = not sticking with it for very long.

Great post, the body is a wonderful machine and likes to be challenged to push through those plateaus

That is a great post. I haven't reached a plateau yet. But, I know those are going to happen. I have been saving great ideas that people put on here and inspirational, I copied and pasted it to my things. This way I have things to look at when I get frustrated or down .
