My Little sister is built EXACTLY like this. Crazy that we came from the same family, and are only a year and a half apart!!!!

This is my ideal body, because it is mine. It may not be perfect, or "ideal" by anyone else's standards, but it is the only body I can achieve. I don't want to compare myself to anyone else, because then I start feeling discontent with things that I can't change.

Personally, I love my body just the way it is - strong and healthy. The only things that are not "ideal" for me are my stretch marks and the loose skin, but that is the price I have to pay for being obese for years (although the skin thing might improve over time).
I don't look like a supermodel, and I'll keep working on getting stronger, but I'm proud of my body the way it is - my curves and my muscles.
I worked WAY too hard not to be happy with how I ended up (56% body fat to 23% body fat)

    I went from this (51" Chest / 45.5" Waist / 54" Hips):
    37600_139117492784657_100000592214278_278412_3914396_n-1.jpg

    to this (38" Chest / 27" Waist / 37" Hips):
    1-2.jpg
So do I look like a model or even like what most people would aspire to?
    No.
But I do look like a fit, healthy version of myself. That's pretty ideal to me.

Is it just me or do you find it a little narcissistic to post your own pictures in an ideal body thread?

I see what you're saying, but no, I don't find it narcissistic. I always admire someone who is content with their own body. I can spend all day wanting what someone else has, but all the hours in the gym don't change genetics.

I hope this doesn't come across douche-baggy (real word? LOL), but my ideal body is mine. I LOVE it! I'm a natural hourlgass, so maybe I'm lucky. I'm a few pounds from my goal, but I'm having a hard time hating on it for not being "ideal". It's freaking awesome! Sorry I can't post a pic of me scantily clad :-) Respecting the hubbs!

More people need to have your attitude! Not many people can say they love their body, so good for you!! :D I hope one day I can love mine like you love yours. But I've got about 25 lbs to go...

I agree with this. Every week I'm in a new body and I'm finally beginning to have a positive body image. Do I have a ways to go, yes. I've been at goal before and was never satisfied with the outcome. This time I'll be happy with whatever I end up with.

  • This is the kind of body I'd die for....Curvy and womanly : )

    she's a SKANK

No, not at all. I have spent my entire life dealing with bad self-esteem and having worked incredibly hard to overcome obesity, I think it's a good thing to celebrate what I've accomplished. Also, the OP said "Either post before and after results or a picture of what you think is an ideal body."
  • My first post, hopefully I do it right!

I don't know who this is (I found it on Pinterest) but that's my current inspiration. She's not super skinny, but she's definitely not fat. She has beautiful curves, and a bit of definition.
I don't think a size 2, or a 6 pack, is a realistic goal for me, and I'm not even sure I'd chose that for myself even if I could pick any body I wanted.
I was always curious as well! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Alicia-Victoria-Modeling/178244812228784
    There ya go!

    or else

    DAN SEVERN
    40427.jpg

    seriously? both are porked out
Ideal in this case might just be a realistic expectation of what a man could reasonably achieve.
    Me? I want more.
Both these fatties look pathetic, but again, to each his own.

Yes, seriously. I'm currently 6"4, 275 lbs. I can bench press about 315ish, and ran 9 miles yesterday at about a 10.15/mi pace. I used to be a Div-1 athlete, now I have a job where I sit at a desk all day. Dan Severn and Fedor look fat and pathetic? I would suggest you google both names. Fedor, for instance, has made countless roided-up guys look like little tiny, terrified girls in the ring. He's probably one of the best if not THE best fighter of all time. Riddle me this: why do *SOME* women find guys who look exactly like Fedor or Dan extremely attractive, while eschewing guys who are more cut and roided up? News flash: people make fun of the cast of the Jersey Shore.

I guess a lot of us on here are just not as good as you for having such amazing expectations of yourselves. Or else, we care about our bodies, but not so much that we're vain, egotistical, and otherwise happy sh*tting on others. I'm in this primarily for health, and to enjoy life, not to have "beach muscles" and to fall in love with my own visage in a mirror. Now, that's pathetic in my book, but again, to each his own.

Yeah, I think they're both not so bad. And, I don't know you and all, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Fedor or Dan (when those photos were taken) were in pretty decent shape. Lastly, this may shock you, but not all women want roided up looking guys. Plus, I'd be happy just looking big, strong, and a little less fat than I've got on me now.

THIS is my perfect body type in a man. Fit but not from a starving body. This is sooo studly!! I like a guy I don't feel like I'm going to break in two, but isn't so crazy overweight he's huffing up the steps!

Definitely something like this - I will never be super skinny, and she looks good with what many would consider "a few extra pounds" (i.e. not at the bottom of or below the ideal weight range)
