    thanks, to both Rachel's,
I was just thinking that today, what If the girls get sick of me , will they want me to go to the runners club? I'm glad you want me to stay, thats what I want. I am just as much a wogger as I ever was. the running is only a part of me and that is just my proving to myself that I can do something like this. My wogging is my staple workout. I love it and I want you all to love it too. I hope that we all will keep pushing ourselves and know that everyday we wog, we're getting stronger and closer to our goals.
I still have 6 pounds to lose until I reach my first goal. then I want to re-evaluate my situation and maybe go for a new goal of another 10 lbs.
I've never really been an athletic person, so running like this , at this age, is a complete shock to me. I really hope that I can keeep going and improve my time and distance.
    thanks for the support.

    Hi Marty,
nice to see you back again. glad you got back out there.... the first few days are always the hardest. Just get yourself back out there again tomorrow, just go slow and take all the time you need to build back up your time and distance. you'll be back to yourself in no time.
    "Just keep wogging"
    and welcome back.

    Jenna,
I'm so happy for you, that is so painful and annoying . I sure hope your right and that is what is causeing them, that will be an easy fix. there are so many new, "natural" cleaning products out there that may not cause thoses problems. let us know that you feeling better. I saw you on another thread, are you struggling with the plateau? I still am, too. I did the low calorie for that week, and I lost a couple, but I'm trying to hang on to the loss and get myself moving downward. I just spent the weekend overeating, so I can't see that that worked, but if I find the magic answer, you will be the first one I tell,OK? I know how frusterating it is, just keep your self moving and keep trying everything you can think of, then just be patient.

    Hi Amy,
I wish you were having an easier time with your transition back to work. Change is always hard to adjust too. But, It sounds like you did ok with getting out there for some walking? that is a great way to keep going. as long as your still trying, your moving in the right direction. keep your trying to eat right, and maybe treadmil at differnet times in the evening, and just see if something works for you.
Just keep trying..... we'll be here to talk with you when you need it.

Thanks for the welcome back Kim. Jenna, I hope that in fact the Lysol is what is causing your hives so you can avoid this product and find something that does not affect your health. Even though I don't work anymore I understand about the clean as you go so at the end of the week you don't have to do this big, elaborate, deep cleaning. Hang in there Amy, like Kim said, change is hard. I'm not very good with words but know that us "woggers" are here for you.

On a different topic, I need some advice: I went to see my doctor last Friday and he told me my triglycerodes are too high. When I asked what did I need to do to resolve this, he said exercise and eating lots of vegetables and fruits should bring them to what they are supposed to be. My problem is, I really don't like vegetables, there's very few I will eat. Just in the last six months, I barely got used to eating broccoli and the different kinds of lettuce. I have no problem eating any type of fruits, its just vegetables, I'm not good with. Help......

Marty - try eating the vegetables in different ways - try them frozen or cooked or all mixed together. Or you can put them on top of sandwiches or in wraps. You said you didn't have a problem with fruit but if you did, you could make a smoothie. You should think of ways to involve fruits and veggies as much as possible, without even noticing you're eating them. Does that make sense?

Amy - Remember, a little exercise is better than no exercise at all. Don't stress about it!

Jenna - so glad you found out what's causing the hives. Stupid cleaning sprays!!!!!!!!!

    Hi everyone!
I have been a MFP member for a long time but just found this group. I am a serious wogger. Last month I hooked up with a walking partner. We now walk 6 miles every day!!! (we start at her house and walk downtown to this small lake and walk all the way around that and back to her house). It takes us a little under 2 hours now. I have lost 8 lbs just from doing that.

She has wanted to start Wogging recently. I was apprehensive because I have asthma really bad and wasn't medicating myself at the time. I got a prescription from the doctor (100 bucks a month but I pay 50 with insurance!) and it seems to be working... a little but I think I need a stronger dose.

So far we have only tried it a few times but I could only run 1.5 minutes before I had an attack. The it would take me at least 8 minutes to recover enough to try again. *sigh* I feel bad for my partner because it is her goal to run around the lake we walk (4.5 miles) but at this rate, with me as a partner, I don't think she is getting enough in.

Does anyone have asthma that affects their running? If so, I'd love the advice.

    Thanks!

Ugh. I haven't wogged since Friday! I feel so lazy! I skipped working out on Saturday and Monday (my usual days). Things have just been so stressful at home, and I've been dealing with that. But I'm bound and determined to get back on track today! I'll be resuming my C25K program tonight at the gym and then doing some good strength training. I'm looking forward to it, and it's going to feel really good!

    Hi Vanessa,

I know what it's like when life kicks your butt and you just don't feel like killing yourself at the gym after that. It's good that you're looking forward to the gym tonight.

    Hi, wlecome,
    new woggers are always welcome.
I don't have any advice for you, except to start a new thread and you might get alot a good advice from more people than are here on this thread. we are a small group. give it a try. I wish I could help you.

Kim, What have you done to get to where you are at and being able to go the 3 miles without stopping? Did you focus more on the time you walked then jogged or did you focus on a certain distance of each? Any suggestions as to what worked for you would be great. Maybe they would be helpful for me as well.

I feel like I haven't been on here as much as I usually am. :ohwell: Getting caught up..just read thru the last few posts.

Welcome to the new woggers! Hope you have a good time with this thread.
Heather, I don't have any advice about the asthma. :ohwell: Sorry, like Kim said, I'm sure you can find a thread on it. There's a thread on almost everything

Kim, you're doing such a great job. I look up to you so much! You motivate me to run more and to exercise more. I love it!

Marty, maybe just try adding in some veggies to rice or make enchiladas that have onions/peppers in them....try to "hide" the veggies with other foods/flavors so they don't bother you as much.

Vanessa, don't feel bad, I haven't wogged at all since friday either! :noway: I've been doing the 30 day shred each day tho, but I usually get in some wogging as well. I must go to the gym tonight. I feel like I need to get out and run or something.

I hope everyone is having a great day. It's gloomy and rainy here in PA!

apparently this is how I started. I wrote this on May 15, 09 when we started this thread. I guess I have made more progress that I realized. thanks for the question, it was fun to go back a read some of my old stuff. I hope this helps, It really has worked for me. you'll get there just be patient and slowly add running time every week and you will go from 1 min- to 2min. to 3 min. to 4 min. and so on..........

I love to woggle too. I warm-up walk for 4 min. then run at 5.5 for 3 min. then( walk 2-4) -(run 3) -(walk 2-4) (run-3) and so on until my running time is up to 26 min.It usually takes me about 35-45 min. total to reach that goal. It is a pace that works for me, and gets my heart rate up for the whole time. you can do any combo you want. I am trying to work my way up to running 3 miles without stopping, someday. every other day I run at least 1 mile without stopping in this schedual and I plan to increase it a little each week. I'm not in a hurry so I am taking it slow. So far,the longest run I ever did was about 1.5 months ago and that was 1.5miles in 14:50min. I had to find out if I could pass the military physical test. YES I CAN !!!! " my hubby is Navy..... I wanted to prove to him that I could do it too...If any of you want I can post the requirements so you can test and push yourself too. just let me know.
I'm looking forward to having a fun group to talk with and share the successes of us all.

As Of Yesterday, June 16, 2009, I ran my first 3miles.......I am so proud of myself. apparently it only took me 1 month to get to my goal. I think I expected it to take longer.

STILL sick today - no exercise for me!:grumble: Tomorrow I may be back to my normal routine, though.

Heather - I don't have asthma, but some of my friends do. They can't run for long distances without getting out of breath. But when they have to stop, I don't mind just walking. I just work at their pace. That way I can have fun with my friends and not have to wear myself out exercising, too. Maybe your friend doesn't mind as much as you think. Kim and Jenna are right - start a new topic and you'll get a lot of answers! And while you're waiting, you're welcome to join our group!:flowerforyou:

I know you all are probably tired of me always complaining about life and sickness and backstabbers and all that. Today I went out to lunch with some people and was IGNORED the whole time. Inside jokes are so stupid - they just have to bring them up in front of people who aren't in on the jokes and they're like, "hahaha!" And you're like, "what? I don't get it." Ugh. Why do people have to hold grudges?????????

to bad your still sick Rachel:sick: :frown:
I sure hope your feeling better soon.

I did my regular wog today. 4.25 miles in 60 min. I wasn't sure I was going to make it, I am still a bit sore from yesterday's ,"record breaking run:laugh:  "
But i made it through and I am so glad Idid. I feel pretty good today. I went tothe dentist this morning and my dentist was so amazed to see me. Since I was there 6 months ago, I quit smoking, lost 14 pounds, and became a wogger..... He was quite impressed. I was pretty proud.
and for some reason, I never noticed before, but they have a great mirror in their bathroom. I looked much thinner than I usually see myself as, in my own mirrors. That was a good trade off for the pain he inflicted on me. I had a prep for a crown today.
Well, I should take tomorrow off, but I will decide then, I don't want to, but, my legs usually make me take the time off.
I hope you all have a good rest of your days. keep pushing forward girls. Even if you do nothing today, but log on here and read, your head is still in the game, so don't give up and don't stress yourself out. the motivation will return and you'll find your way back soon.

that really sucks, hopefully they will all let it go soon, and you can just do your job and be done with them. I remember how hard it was to deal with people at jobs. I 've had my share of annoying and down right mean people in my life. at least it is only a summer job and eventually you will be out of there. Just remember that someday they will all be just a distant memory and you will move on to a happy life , with people that you like and can be friends with.
I know that doesn't really help you with "today".and I wish I had some profound advice for you ,but just keep doing what your doing and time will help in the healing of hurt feelings.
    And you always have us:wink:

come on girls, get those last few min. in tonight, if you can. and be sure to tell us about the other stuff your doing for your workout.
myself I really only do a small amount of stretching every day, and then core work and 8lb weights, for about 30min. twice a week, I'm really focusing on my cardio right now to burn the fat.

oh my gosh it's check in time already! where did the time go? lol

So....:blushing: I went over my cals for the FIRST time since I started MFP on May 3 :blushing:

lol I went over 500 some cals....
....all from a piece of Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard Icecream Cake from Dairy Queen :blushing:

Let me just tell you, it was totally worth it! I don't regret it at all bc I have been so perfect with my cals for so long. Not going over cals for that long is pretty darn great. but...I have to admit, I still feel a little guilty...and I'm still going to burn off some of the cals tonight...but what's a little treat every month gonna hurt?

    HI JENNA,
yOU HAVE TO HAVE A LITTLE TREAT EVERY NOW AND THEN.
THIS IS LIFE, AND IF YOU TOTALLY RESTRICT YOURSELF YOUR GOING TO BE MISSERABLE, AND THAT IS NOT WHAT LIFE IS ABOUT. DON'T FEEL GUILTY ABOUT YOUR TREAT.....YOU'VE BEEN SO GOOD AND SOMETIMES YOU NEED REST.

OK, MY MINUTES FOR THIS PAST WEEK ARE,......DRUM ROLL PLEASE..................
    225

THAT IS SO WAY LOW FROM THE LAST FEW WEEKS. SO OK GIRLS. I AM GOING TO CHALLENGE US TO REACH A GOAL FOR THIS WEEK.
WE NEED TO DO AS MANY MIN. AS WE DID THAT FIRST WEEK.
    I THINK MINE WAS 304.
SO THAT IS MY GOAL FOR THIS COMING WEEK.
    GOOD LUCK GIRLS.

OK gals, I didn't do very good at all this week, but since its the first week that I went out there and picked up the wogging again, I think its a start. I only wogged 180 minutes. This morning I didn't wogg cause two of my mom's sisters are visiting from El Paso and since none of them drive, I had to take them around town. My mom is 72 (she'll be 73 next week), she has six sisters but she maybe gets to see them once a year cause they all live in El Paso, I love to hear them talk. Its so neat, and rewarding to see my mom spending time with her family. Especially sisters, I get to see glimpses of my mom's personality that only come around when she is with her sisters. Its almost like seeing her as a child, teen, young mother all in a span of however many days she is with her sisters. One of my sisters who is not married yet and still lives with mom told me once before that they act like a bunch of teens on a sleepover, chatting, giggling and reminiscing about when they were children/teens. I can't describe the feelings I feel when I see this side of mom. It makes me love her even more......I know sappy......I can't help it.

Sorry, on a different subject, thanks for all the advice about eating vegetables, the biggest hurdle is getting over the taste but I'm going to try really hard.

Welcome to the new woggers, this is a great group of ladies that have a common goal and that is to support each other regardless of our missteps, downs and bad days. Just reading through all the posts is uplifting and encouraging.....so enjoy.
