Sorry loathsome, didn't mean to ignore your question.
I usually take the path with my car to find out but mapmyrun.com works great, too. I did see it in my browser, though.
Not sure why it didn't work...except that you have to use lower letters for img (rather than IMG) in your code. I use photobucket, too...it works like a charm.
Here's your pic:

thanks so much, i didn't think you were ignoring it, i was just mad at my computer lol0 -
I only went 2 this morning, something didn't feel right in my knee before I started, so I cut back the plan. But I did go a lot faster and cut almost 1:30 off each mile over my norm...
So it was all good :glasses:0 -
awesome 4-miles for me this morning--it is strangely cool here this morning--I love it!
Off to paint my mother-in-law's house this afternoon--fun...fun0 -
Newbie here - I've been a runner forever. For the last couple years I've been doing a lot more cycling but running will always be my first love. I'm not fast by any means, but I do like to race and let my competitive streak come out to play. Right now I'm getting ready for a hilly 12K in two weeks and perhaps a big mountainy marathon in November. I live in Taiwan, so I'm right there with all you southern runners. Right now it is HOT and HUMID here, anytime of day or night. Kind of brings down the motivation level. Since March I've lost 10 kg and I really notice it in the running. I feel lighter and sprighter and less complaints from the knees. Can't wait to see what happens when I lose the next 9!0

no running for me today, about to head to the gym for some spinning & legs. this afternoon I'm going to try and get out of the office and get a few laps in at the pool
:flowerforyou:
Got P90X in the mail yesterday--not starting the actual program yet, but will be testing out a few of the workouts in the next week or so!!! :drinker:0 -
I feel so lazy, I haven't gone running since saturday! Sunday I ended up out of the house all day, and then yesterday between work, vet appointment, and more work I flat out didn't have time.
Tonight I'll beat myself up over it :laugh:0 -
rest day from running for me today, so I cross trained on the elliptical and did weights.
Have a great day everyone :flowerforyou:0 -

Hi all,
I'm a new runner. I'm on my fourth week of Runner's World beginner run program. It is a basic program to get me running for 30 minutes straight without stopping. No speed/distance requirement.
My goal is to start doing 5Ks, and then a mini next year. This will help me get in shape, because I want to start doing sprint triathlons.
I look forward to going back through and reading the posts to get everyone's "insights".0 -
Today is a rest day for me, since I ran both Sunday and yesterday. I've got a date with the new Transformers movie.
Have a great day!0 -

Good for you! I started with a 5K also, then did a half marathon, then a full, and now I like the half marathon distance and triathlons! Let me know if you have any questions!

greetings runner people! hadn't spent much time on the message boards until today; was excited to find the runner's club. trying to catch up this morning with all the posts. i run in the nike+ challenges with Leash and msarro, so hoping they can vouch for me as legit. looking forward to being a card-carrying member of the group (if someone will just teach me the secret handshake)0

Welcome to all our new runners!
I think you will find this thread so helpful and encouraging! Everyone has been so amazing to me! It's such an awesome group of people!
Shuntae, way to go on your first 5k! You did terrific!
Welcome back Jess! Glad you had fun!
Today I broke in the new gear! I LOVE MY FUEL BELT!!!!!   It was awesome! And Body Glide is the BOMB!!!! No chafing!!! Yeah!!!
I didn't realize how broken down my old shoes were and how much I was hurting because of them until today....we did 7.75 miles and I don't hurt at all! It was a rough run, lots of intense hills, I caught myself whimpering at the bottom of the last one when I looked up to the top of it.
I did have to do about 1/2 mile of walk/run intervals but finished strong and only 2 minutes behind my buddy.
I am totally going to become a shoe hog!!! There is going to be a sale next week so I'll be going back to get at least one more pair. I haven't decided if I'm getting the same model or a different model. You made a great point Raymond about the pressure points, so I might check into a slightly different model/style. I am a total convert about the importance of shoes now!!!!
Have a great workout everyone! And make sure you have good shoes!!!

Hi Everyone.
Good to see some new faces around here. Welcome! I think you'll like it here. :drinker:
Raymond - thanks for the advice on the shoes. I usually just wear one pair until the very end of their life, but now I think I'll definitely start working a rotation.
Shuntae - Have fun at your movie. Sorry I didn't congratulate you on your first 5K, earlier. I just looked back to see your update. Great time! You should be proud!
Jess - Welcome back. I love your new profile picture. Very cute!
Becky- I'm glad you're digging your new fuel belt. What did you end up getting? I must have missed that post. :blushing:
I ran 8 miles last evening - nice and easy until a bat swooped down and came within inches of my head. I screamed out loud and hauled tushy for the last mile home. When I looked at my splits for that run - each mile was about 9:40-9:50. That last mile was 7:50! Ew...bats!
Today I biked about 12 miles with my daughter on the back. I'm feeling a bit sore and beat up for some reason, so I thought I better take the day off of from running.0 -
Took a few days off from MFP (and logging, too even) but still managed to run and eat healthy. I don't know why...I guess it was just the rebelliousness in me coming out. Got a little tired of logging everything, I suppose.
I get this way, too, Annaliza. I haven't logged my food in a few weeks now. I know I'll regret it if and when I step on the scale, but I feel like I haven't gone completely out of control. It just gets so tedious sometimes, don't you think?? Nice runs, BTW!0 -
No running for me it's rained 5 days straight in Fl. Rains not bad it's the lightning that's the issue0
-
Got six miles in this morning. Fairly slow - wasn't feeling it today.
I have been in a 'logging in' slump the past week as well, but I found after logging religiously for so many months, I have a pretty good idea of what I should be eating and where my calorie count and carbs/protein have been without having to log it every day. I'll have to pay closer attention when I go on vacation and change up the routine.0 -

That's how I feel. Since it seems like I eat the same stuff everyday, it is just extra work to keep logging. I know where I need to be. I just wish I would trust myself to mix up my food choices a little more.
Sorry you weren't feeling the love today while running. I've had my fair share of those days!0 -
Hi my name is Sherry and I haven't ran in 6 weeks.
Oh wait this isn't runners anonomous.
I did however do spinning this morning. See no falling off the wagon necessary because you can't run. I had my first PT appointment today and physical therapist said he didn't see any reason why I couldn't try to run so he cleared me for 1 mile between now and my next appointment which is next Monday. Who knew someone could get excited about 1 mile! :happy:0 -

I'm loving P90X! I haven't officially begun but have worked all the 1st phase workouts! The yoga and stretch DVDs are an awesome pairing with a long run day. Monday is D Day for official start.0 -

Welcome! :flowerforyou: I'm so excited to hear that you are noticing improvement in running with your weight loss! I am hoping to feel the same positive effects as my weight comes off!

This morning I only did 2 miles but it was so humid at 6 am that I struggled a little. I've learned to accept good and bad running days. I think I'm going to get that little waist belt that everyone talks about. I really got thirsty on my run on Sunday. I looked for churches with spickets but didn't see any.
Take care all!
Annaliza, what a great attitude! I am still struggling with that! I was fighting myself through the first 5 miles today. I kept apologizing to my running partner for needing to slow down...and just couldn't get my head into the run. I need to learn that there are good and bad runs and move on.
I got a fuel belt Saturday! I absolutely recommend it! It made all the difference today! It was totally comfortable, didn't add any weight. I barely even noticed I had it on. I froze my water bottles last night and they thawed as I ran so I had cold water the entire way. Definitely worth the investment! :bigsmile:0 -
i ran for 20 minutes yesterday outside. i don't know how to calculate my mileage. but it looks like this:

anyway, i don't know how to post it, there is the pic though if you c+p it in your browser
Have you checked out mapmyrun.com? It maps your route for you and gives you mileage. I love it!0 -
There was one thing I was thinking about on my run but will forget if I don't post it.
Since we have some 1/2 and marathon newbies I thought I'd pass along some random shoe advice. It's tough to say this as a guy.... but it's true, you can't have enough shoes. Ouch!  On a serious note, it's a good plan to have a back-up pair or two and do a rotation when you run. Personally I like to vary brands and style some (asics, NB, saucony) so they fit a bit different and won't have the same pressure & wear points. Some prefer the same shoe, which is fine too. The main thing is get on a rotation so you are intermixing runs with fresh shoes and others near retirement. As an example, I have 4 pair on my active rotation right now. It will help keep your feet and joints healthy too. I wait until a great sale and buy several pair.
There is a lot to know about fit too. I think roadrunnersports.com has some of the best shoes sizing guides you can find. Get to know if you under, or over pronate and get a general idea if you need a straight or curved last. They have tons of self help sizing advice to follow.
Raymond
There is a word for people like you.......ENABLER!
Seriously though, after today's run, I completely agree with every word and will be re-visiting my local running store later this week when the sale begins to buy another pair....or tow!0 -
you can go to www.mapmyrun.com to figure out the mileage.
Great minds think alike!0
