Same thing I did last year...a few dollars a week to a charity. Last year was right after the Japan tsunami, so I sent a little more to the red cross fund every friday. Not sure who to choose this time...I may do different ones on different weeks.0

Not Catholic, but am giving up Twitter.0

Well, I am Catholic and was originally going to say Catholic, but then I saw on wikipedia that it said, "This event, along with its pious customs are observed by Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians, Anglicans and some Baptists."
edit: I said "Christians" to be safe. I'm aware that not all Christians observe~!0 -
Episcopal's do celebrate as well. But no, not all Christians do.0

I tried to get into twitter, but never really got into it! Seems like it could be fun. XDNot Catholic, but am giving up Twitter.0

A lot of non-religious people do it too, a lot of my friends do it along with me I'm giving up Starbucks (and all other coffee shops), and drinking. Gonna be tough! Might do 30 Day Shred over lent as well0

Plenty of other denominations including some Lutheran's observe lent. I remember it from my Lutheran church growing up.0 -

So I said "Christians" to be safe. Haha.
This Baptist doesn't observe lent... but I do enjoy the fish options that come out as a result...0 -
I haven't decided yet. right now, I have no desire for anything since I've been sick with morning sickness so I think I will have to just choose something I know I will like by the time this awful at is over.0

Yeah, I have a few non-religious friends that are doing it also, just to do it. Oh man, Starbucks. I didn't even think of that. I love it so much. I will put that on my list too.A lot of non-religious people do it too, a lot of my friends do it along with me I'm giving up Starbucks (and all other coffee shops), and drinking. Gonna be tough! Not Catholic but roommate is, so to help her with it I'm giving up dining hall cookies/ice cream, non-sandwich bread (like rolls and breadsticks), and eating out on weekends (which I do a lot).0

A lot of my non religious friends are giving up something for lent. It's more tradition over here though.
I was going to give up my rich tea biscuits but I totally wouldnt stick to it so I'm going to DO instead. 1 more activity a week with my daughter. We're pretty busy as it is but I will squeeze in more fun time so we'll go to softplay and parks once a week0 -
According to Wikipedia, it says others also observe. I said Christians to be safe.I thought only Catholics did that, not Christians in general?

diet coke is my addiction. going to try to go for as as long as possible without it.0
-
Cigarettes! Oh man! Good luck!!!Not catholic, lutheran. But, I am giving up CIGARETTES!!0

I usually give up pop or fast food or sweets, but seeing as Ive had 2 cans of pop since new years (I was sick and it was the ONLY thing I could keep down), havent had any fast food and have very severely limited the sweets it seems like kind of a cop out lol. So I'm just going to be diligent with sticking to working out, eating right, and just continuing to live healthier0

I'm CoE and I do it :S
Anyway, I'm going to give up meat, but i find that easy since I was veggie then vegan for two years, so perhaps I'll give up drinking and smoking as well as be a vegetarian again0 -
Last year I did smoking.. and since i quit that, so on to my next HUGE addiction this year..... Facebook. its going to be a tough one!!0
