    "Greetings, more intelligent gender" will suffice.

    Or just, "Hi."

    How bout - "Hey you, make me a sammich!"

    I worked doing personal care in house for some older folks ...Their live in support worker would call me flower..Hey flower good morning..or nice to see ya flower. I didn't know what the hell to think of it ..I didn't care for it and asked her once why she said it ...what it meant ...She said it was just something she always said. I pretty much ignored it thinking it must be an English(England) term of some kind...But it erk'd the ish outta me ...If it meant fragile like a flower because i'm a woman ...she had me pegged wrong!

    Maybe she called you flower bc she thought you were pretty.... But, I get why it erk'd you. I wouldn't want anyone thinking I am fragile or weak.

    My pet peeve is hun, I have never liked that word and only few people get away with it.

    I address most people with Dude. Like, "Dude, you're a crazy *****!" or "Dude, stop being a dirty *kitten* about sharing those chocolates!"

    When I address people informally, it's more like "Dude, wuz up in the hiz-ouse? Holla!"

    Bonus points if you can spot the inside joke.

    It doesn't bother me AS MUCH as the c word. I would rather be called 'woman' as opposed to 'girl', that being of course, in a derogatory sense.
