I've averaged >2300 calories daily for the past 77 lbs. Not doing progress pics until this weekend but here are some from last summer:

I'm reading about women who eat more and weigh less than me =) This is truly inspiring!!! Next week I will up my calorie intake. As long as I'm eating healthy and working out consistently, I know I will continue to lose weight and build the lean muscle that I want! I feel like I've been counting calories a little too much lately with MFP, and I don't want it to get to a point where it consumes me.
I'll be adjusting my diet soon =)

But STILL NO processed or refined foods lol

Yup, that sounds spot on to me! I hope it works for you (bet it will!) :)

I eat 1900 cals 5 days a week and 2500 cals 2 days a week. I work out at least an hour a day, sometimes 90 minuts - trying for at least 30 minutes of high intensity, and the rest moderate. I'm losing about 2 pounds a week since I started eating this way. Oh, and I weigh 239 currently.

    What a fantastic thread :)

I have just upped my calorie intake because 1200 was not enough for me, and this thread makes me wonder if I should up it a tad bit more.

Seriously love this thread! It's awesome to hear other women eating and loosing, rather than wasting away on prepackaged diet foods.

I started MFP back in early January and immediately I saw all these 1200 calorie diet posts plus read what my MFP recommendation was (1200 to lose 1lb a week yuck!) and said "no f**cking way"

I've been eating at a minimum 1400 net calories for the past 2 months, but it varies. Sometimes its 1600, 1800, even 2300 when I'm spiking. I always eat back my exercise calories. I'm starting to focus on running, really pushing myself to get better. It feels awesome.

And guess what? I've lost steadily for the past 2 months without going hungry. At a little more than a 1lb a week when averaged all together to boot!

I just started eating 1800 cals a day since last Wed and I have lost 2 lbs now. Prior to that I was eating around 1400-1500 on exercise days and losing nothing. Now I have backed off on cardio, focused more on lifting and upped my cals to 1800 and I have seen great results.............

Hi! I love eating and will eat every last exercise calorie I can get, and have since I started on mfp....

Anyway, I am maintaining now but eat in total on average 1900-2000 calories/day, but exercise every day so my net varies, as I burn between 250-400 calories/day

I'm 5"6", around 120 lbs and maintaining my weight but in the last year I have been focusing on getting super-strong. I am the same weight now as I was when I first started maintenance in May 2010, but am a whole pant size smaller......I never would have believed it until I tried it, but you can eat, and you can weigh the same but get smaller with strength exercises. It's a great thing.

    Good luck to you!

I've lost 38lbs and have about another 40 to go before I reach my goal, although that number can change and probably will once I get closer to it and see what my BF% is.
My daily intake goal is 1800 and I try to NET at least 1640 a day. I started back in July for the 1st couple weeks went with MFP's goal which was around 1300, then started doing Curves weight management plan, which cycles calories. I'd do 1 week of 1200 cals then up that to 1500 for 3-4 weeks then go into a rest phase for 2 weeks and start over. I did this until about December, when I decided to take a rest from calorie restriction and went into "maintenance" although I still lost about a 2-3lbs through the month of December eating 2000 calories. After the New Year I was going to start back at the 1200 cycle and after the 1st day I was starving, had no energy and decided that was for the birds and upped my calories. I read a lot of posts on here about higher calories getting better results so I upped my goals to 1600. After meeting with my Personal Trainer for the 1st time about a month ago he told me I still wasn't eating enough and I needed to up my cals some more, so I took them to 1800. I also incorporate a cheat/spike day in a least every other week. I lost 9lbs in 6 weeks eating at the higher calorie goals and have tons of energy and feel so much better. I burn anywhere from 500-750 calories a day depending on my routine and eat at least 1/2 of those calories back.

Taken just after I joined MFP

Most days I eat around 1800 total calories, but not 1800 net. My total calories vary a lot though. Sometimes I eat 1400 or less, some days more than 2000 because some days I'm hungrier than others. But the average is around 1800, I think.

Watching this thread. I've lost over 100 pounds not counting calories. I have stalled for over 2 years, and I would mostly like to lose inches now. I set my calories to 1800 with my ratios at 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30% fat. Just need to work on upping the protein and lowering the carbs a bit.
  • I am 5'6" and just turned 40 :) I eat about 2600 before exercise a day.....for maintainence......I was eating 1960 to lose.....I weigh155 which is the max of my "happy weight"

I've shed over 130 pounds and decreased my body fat from 56% to 23%

I eat an average of 2000-ish calories/day now - usually more.

I average between 1800 and 2100 a day, burn through cardio and heavy lifting, 600-800 cals 5-6 days a week. I've lost 70 lbs (90 if you count my pregnancy gain and re-loss  ) No way I could survive on 1300-1500 and still workout like I do..I'd be ripping people's heads off!

Gosh, you look amazing. Honestly, your tummy is fab. I wish mine looked like that. After having three large babies in 2 years, first was nearly 9lbs, second was nearly 10lbs and my third girl was 11lbs 4, I'd give anything to have a tummy like yours. I am hoping when I hit goal my tummy might have recovered somewhat!

You look fantastic, be proud of your lovely toned tummy. X
