peanut butter- yay or nay ?

I mostly just do pb2 now because peanut butter is hard to stop at a serving. Plus, I can't usually afford the calories. I have a huge appetite, so spending 200 calories on a tiny amount of peanut butter doesn't usually make sense in my day. However.... if you have room for it in your calories... DEFINITELY go for it, because it's just so freaking delicious0

I eat a very thin layer on my toast every morning. If you only eat one serving it is very good for you. BUT, it is a challenge to stick to one serving. If you can have just one serving and can afford the 180 calories, go ahead. If you can't eat just one serving, then stay away. I have found cheese to be the same way for me!0

I love love LOVE Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter with strawberries. It's a go to snack for me, completely addicted. When I'm on the go I'll mix 2T PB with no sugar added applesauce and it's pretty awesome too0

I love peanut butter! But we make our own. Just put raw peanuts into a food processor and let it go. It turns to a dust at first but then it balls up and turns into peanut butter. No added salt, sugar, or oil. It's better for you and it has a few less cals than store bought! Next I want to try PB 2 but I haven't found it in any stores around here.0

I have heard that after a workout a person should have some sort of protien to help the muscles reboost. My Son always had a spoonfull or two of peanut butter after his runs. I did it the other day but only a teaspoon because of the cal. count.0

Yay. And I go for the natural kind. Just ground peanuts. No sugar, no added oils.
you mix the natural stuff once then into the refrigerator. It gets stiffer but doesnt seperate again. If you dump the oil out it will be very dry and you will loe some of the good taste and good fat.0 -
I say nay, I prefer to make almond bark with dark chocolate & enjoy the benefits without all the sugar & unnecessary calories. The dark chocolate helps boost the immune system & the almonds are great for protein etc. Old wives tale: Almonds are good for decreasing arthritis inflammation.0

I looked up the PB2 on the manufacturer's website and you can search by your area to find stores in your area that carry it. I am planning on getting some this weekend after all the positive comments. Going to also try your method on the homemade natural PB!0 -
Every. Single. Day.
Smucker's natural if I have the calories to "spend"
PB2 if I don't.
mmmm... peanut butter...0 -

Some health food stores do carry PB2. I order it on line from Netrition.com You can also get it from Bell Plantation.com, but their shipping is pricier.
Re: protein - it's not as high in protein as regular PB, but the fat is reduced by 85%. It also comes in Chocolate & peanut butter flavored. I use PB2 in my morning oatmeal - Yum!0 -
I am a sweet-a-holic. I gave up candy, try to eat less cakes, cookies, cupcakes (I am also an avid baker) There is no way in HELL I will give up my JIF. NEVER. I will eat it and all of it's "badness" with an apple everyday. It makes life good.0

LOVE Naturally More Peanut Butter. Available at Walmart, currently $3.26 for 16 oz. jar
Ingredients: dry roasted peanut, flax seed, wheat germ, sugar, honey, egg white0 -
Forget moderation. As my friend Cory would say, "grab a spoon and dig in." Love peanut butter (the natural kind without the hydrogenated oils). My day just isn't the same without some of that nutty goodness. Peanuts are a great source of good fat and protein. Sure it might be a little high cal, but I see so many people complaining about not being able to eat 1,200 calories that I think they would be better off with more peanut butter in their lives. Amen.
PS. My brand of poison is the Adam's All Natural Peanut butter.

Step one: Grab a spoon.
Step two: Open peanut butter.
Step three: Scoop peanut butter out with a spoon.
Step four: Insert spoon in mouth.
Step five: Enjoy a mouth full of heaven.
ETA (by request) Step six: Make eye contact with someone0 -
Smucker's all natural is amazing! I have been totally spoiled by it though - can't eat any other pb now.0

Pretty excited that I get to be the first to say it: Better N' Peanut Butter! I get it at Trader Joe's. It's soo tasty and the calories are half that of peanut butter. I love the soft, creamy texture, too. Luscious.
2 tbsp=100 cals0 -
I eat peanut butter every single day.
And I usually eat it with some dark chocolate. Every day.
Have you tried dark chocolate peanut butter? Sooo gooood.0 -
Peanut Butter is one of the most disgusting things in the world to me0

YAY0

YESSSSS!!!0

I eat it all the time on fruit or caramel rice cakes. I grind my own at the grocery store and add a little kosher salt when I get home. 1 T = 100 cals, so no reason not to work it into my eating plan. I use powdered peanut flour (same as PB2 but 4 times cheaper) in smoothies and baked goods to save on fat/calories.0

IF and only IF you measure carefully and control your portions. I forgot this little fact and just eye balled peanut butter. After 1 week I had gained 6 lbs...very very bad! But with control it is good source of protein and fat (yes, the good fat that everyone needs a little of in their diet).0
-
Yay. But then again, I dont deny anything thats natural. Everything is awesome for you in moderation and portion controlled0

Oh....yaaaaaayyy.0

PB2. Great low calorie substitute, can make a paste with it, or put it in shakes.0

When you buy a big jar it does separate and you just mix it back in. I just buy a small amount at a time now (I grind it at the store so I can buy whatever amount I want). If you dump the oil out instead of mixing it back in you are just left with a hard lump of peanut stuff.0 -
I hate peanut butter!!!0
