Well technically I'm a tad taller, but found this conversation interesting. I'm 5'10, 330, and a size 22/24 comfortably. In fact the jeans I'm sitting in are a size 22. I'm curious as to what size I will be in when I get to 160ish-lbs again. It's been almost 20yrs and then I was in 8/10's.0

I am 5' 9". I still have a pair of shorts from about 1992 (from the Limited - they're fabulously retro now, lol). This pair of shorts is a size 12. At the time, I felt like a hippo because I wore a size 12 (weighed 145 pounds). Comparing those shorts to the size 10's I wear currently from The Loft is hilarious. Those size 12's are SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than today's size 10's.
Clothing sizes have definitely gotten bigger in the last 20 years.
This is sooo true!! I was shopping in a regular store recently (because I finally can LOL) and as I looked through the sizes, I see size 0. Then I see 00. What the heck is that??? How can clothing be a size nothing? Does that mean the person isn't really there?
I'm 5'7, weigh 169lbs and wear size 12 pants and large shirts. However, I distinctly remember weighing 165-170 in highschool and wearing size 16 Jordache jeans. (yes I'm that old. )0 -
I am 5'8", 240 lbs, size 16 pants, shirts L/XL. I can only fit pants that are made for curvy women.
What I found from shopping at stores llike the GAP since high school is that the clothing sizes change over the years. The size12 I was wearing in high school is probably today's size 6 or 8. It makes the consumer feel smaller, even though we are getting bigger.0 -
I'm 5'7 I weigh 268lbs my pants varies between a 20-24w my shirts are 3x
Hopefully one day I will reach my dream size a beautiful size 10 *sigh*0 -
This really interests me....I am 5'8" have a 29 inch waist currently weight 154 and just last week was able to fit perfectly into a size 10 (Lucky Jeans). I typically wear a large shirt sometimes a medium. At 165 I wore a 12 in jeans and they fit perfectly.
I think it's interesting to see other peoples stats and see that they wear the same size...I suppose it's all in the shape.0 -
I'm almost 5'7'' 145 and very curvy, 29'' waist and 40.5'' hips. I am a size 8 currently and a 6 in some brands...But juniors i'm an 11! I want to be a 4.0

I am just a little over 5'9" and I am 33. When I was 16 I weighed about 125 and wore a size 8 in pants. Now I'm at 258 and size 18. I don't really know how they pants size goes, but I know after the "athletic cut" came in fashion for shirts I had to go up a size just to accomodate my chest and shoulders.0

I'm 5'9" and fluctuate between 135-145 though I like to be around 138-140. I normally wear a 6 but sometimes have to go up or down a size. I have a 36D top so I need a Medium shirt. Working out with a trainer has helped tremendously with how my body looks. I may not be size 0 but I love putting on a swim suit now!0

I'm 5'7", 165lbs and wear a size 10 in Old Navy Jeans. Most of my dress pants are size 12 though. Goal is 130lbs and 6/8 pants.0

I am 5'7 .. 171 and this morning put on a size 8
Same here...but I'm squeezed and these jeans are kinda stretched already...
Damn I envy some of your sizes. I weight 148.8 lbs but my goal weight is 138 lbs. But I don't think I'll ever wear less than a size 8. I have large structure, and large hips...0 -
Hi!, I'm 5'9" 149lbs and wear a 6 or 8 depending on the brand.0
-
Hi!! I'm 5.0 and I weigh 160.lbs I wear a size10. Because of my height MY goal is 120 even thou on the chart say 100 because of my small frame I used to weight this when I was in my early 20's didn't look good, so I will be happy 120 at a sz 7. I'm looking forward to reaching my goal0

I'm 5'8 and I weigh 160 I have size 6-10 in my closet lol....depends on the brand although the 10s typically only fit in the morning....by the afternoon I'm having to pull them up all the time.0

I still find it astounding to see so many weights/heights distributed differently. Just adds to the fact that weight really is JUST a number!
I am 5'7. When I started I was almost 166 lbs and I was in tight 8's and comfy 10's.
Now I am about 139 lbs, and my 6's are loose. Not quite to a comfortable (imo) 4 the last time I checked 5 lbs ago lol. I don't like things too tight.....
BTW Add me others with similarities. Always looking to find someone with similar weight, height, and etc.0 -
My Height is 157 cm and my weight is 47 Kg My waist is 25 cm0

These threads always amaze me with the vast changes in size for the same weight
I am 189.5 and 5 ft7 and I wear a size 12, although a bit snug . Size 14 are huge in the waist but Im a pear so my waist is probably more like a size 100 -
I am 5'8" and weigh 252 lbs - I wear a size 18 in DEB (Definetely the most flattering), a size 20-22 in any Walmart Jeans/Pants (never flattering), and a size 18/20 in Lane Bryant Jeans/Pants (Jeans don't flatter, but pants/slacks usually do). My tops range from size 2X-4X depending on the store.0
-
I'm 5'8, 173 lbs and a size 10/12, depending on the brand. I try not to focus too much on the number since I do strength train. I just focus on feeling good, toning up, and fitting in to my pants from high school (which are now borderline too big).
My twin!!
I am wearing a lot of Jr's size 11. My tops are still L or XL. I think it is my chest size or shoulder width.
Like you, I am interested in strength training as opposed to the numbers on the scale. If I could tone everything up, I would be happy at this weight.0 -
I'm new here - I'm 5'8, 230, wear a size 12 or 14 depending on the brand. I could use some more motivation, not so much for eating, but for EXCERCISE. . .0

I need size 0 long(ish) pants. I'm right between regular and tall sizes (just like the height for this topic - actually, just under 5'8") and the tall sizes usually start at size 2 or 4, so I have a hard time finding pants that fit in the waist and hips and aren't too short. So much so that I'm starting my own line of pants! My size zero long pants are coming soon! Do you need size zero long, too? Follow me on twitter at luvdit_com or visit my site at luvdit dot com.0

5'8" and 185 lbs wearing 10/12, depending on who the maker is and what kind of clothes we are talking.
Size 10 Old Navy jeans or Calvin Kleins but if it is Lee khakis, I need the 12.0 -
Sounds like you are doing great on your own! Wow! At that weight, I still needed 16s.0
-
I'm 5'7 and 150 lbs. I started at around 160 and was wearing size 10 pants. Now those are fitting loosely, but I haven't bought new ones yet. So probably a size 8 right now! My goal is to fit comfortably into some old size 5/6 jeans I own.0
