Great job everyone! Sorry I haven't been very active on here, I'll try to work on that. This challenge has really helped me stick with it and be accountable and I really appreciate that. Ever think about making this a group? Or maybe if we do another challenge after this one...seems like it would be easier to stay up on the posts.

dajndae -Thanks for sharing your story and pics! You look fantastic!

good job to everyone this week.

    so i thought i'd share . . .

2 years ago today, i walked into JCPenny looking for a new bra . . . i literally couldn't find one that fit in our whole town!!

a worker asked me if she could help me and i lost it . . .
we had just adopted our second daughter (our 5th child, so life was busy at home) and i was so sleep deprived, needed a new haircut, nothing fit, was living on milk duds, and life was just difficult!!
i was also 225 pounds . . . my highest weight ever (aside from pregnancy).
she gave me a hug and at that point i realized i needed to do something. (crying in penny's was for sure a low point)

The next day (march 1st) i started keeping track of my weight loss and wrote it down weekly.
that first year, i just cut out sugar and walked! i lost about 55 pounds from March-December.

About this time last year, i stopped caring and over 5 months gained about 15 pounds back . . .

Late last summer, i looked at pictures from summer vacation and was horrified at what i had gained back.

August 2nd, i started MFP and have lost 41 pounds!
I've learned so much being here and i truly love the challenge groups . .. this one has been my favorite!!

I am literally 1.5 pounds from my goal weight . . . what i weighed 19 years ago on my wedding!!

anyway - i wish i could figure out how to post pictures - i have a great before/after one. when i do, i'll be sure to post.

Keep up the good work, everyone!!
    it's way worth it!

    thanks for listening:-)

    -Amy

i saw the pics you look GREAT.....thanks for the encouragement......

dajndae- Love your story! You look so good. Hope I have a before/after story such as yours someday soon! Thanks for sharing.

rainas25- I totally agree! I have been thinking about when the next challenge will be so that I can lose the rest of the weight! This group/challenge has been a great motivator and also helps you be constantly reminded on how far you have come.

KC- Thanks for your comments! Also, I really hope you are planning on doing another challenge! You are a wonderful host and always have everything organized and ready in a timely manner. :0)

    good morning all,

my move is completed(until the 9, when we move into our new place)so starting today i am back to logging EVERYTHING i eat and my goal is to stay within my calorie range, today i still have to meet the realtor and tenants and ran some errands so exercise will have to wait until tomorrow......i have missed my workouts so much, and my healthy eating as well....have a great day all ....:flowerforyou:

Love this challenge and reading your posts. I agree that I think this challenge has helped me stick with my plan when I get discouraged.
Thank you to Kristin for doing a wonderful job transferring all our numbers to that great chart!! Even when I have a rough week, I love looking at the chart...gets me motivated for the next weigh in.
Amy...great transformation. When I read the transformation stories or see the pictures, I get encouraged....and that can be just what it takes to keep me going on some days. So thank you!!

This week was a good lesson for me. On Monday, I weighed in here with a low weigh and I was happy. I have been on cycle 1 of the 17 Day diet and followed it strictly...and felt good ( this is my third round of this plan) On Tuesday (my weigh in night for a group I belong to here at home in real life), my weight was up by about 3lbs..... I had a sore throat and fever.... Just a reminder that the number on the scale doesn't always measure our progress. Yesterday, I was running around doing errands and saw a pair of jeans that were a great price. I was able to take off my size 18 jeans and put on a new pair of jeans --size 14...that felt great!! So there are a lot of ways to measure our progress.....and today on the scale I am back to my low!!

Thanks again for all your help. I love this challenge and would like to be in on another challenge when this one is over.....

raindropwishes - thanks for the exercise challenge! After getting back from my trip (where I did tons of exercise), and eating less salty food for a few days (isn't food out so bad!) my weight is down to a new low point! *hoping it stays there till Monday or drops* I think more exercise is a great idea, and I can do it!

dajndae - Thanks for sharing your story! You really give me hope that if I just stick to it, I'll lose. Your achievement is wonderful, congratulations! :flowerforyou:

I visited with a friend recently who was struggling to take care of her family, where there was some illness, and was gaining weight and getting sick herself. It was so easy for me to see that in her case, she was creating a vicious cycle of stress and illness. I was talking with my husband in the kitchen about it, and he was like, 'yeah, just like you do sometimes too'. Gosh, it was suddenly so much clearer to me! I wish tonight that we might all be successful this week, and lose a few pounds by weigh-in, becoming healthier, happier, and less-stressed! Okay, I'll try to get back to sleep now!
  • Hi Everyone,

Hope you're all doing ok. My partner & I are having a little girls night tomorrow and there will (unfortunately) be cake, so I will be weighing tomorrow morning instead of Sunday which is our normal weigh day.

I've done 70mins exercise so far this week, am hoping to do another 30 mins or so later on today if I feel well enough so that'd be 100 minutes for my weigh week. I'm kind of struggling with food - getting a bit bored and need some variety. Can anyone recommend any good recipes for two dieters?

How is everyone else getting on?

I have not been exercising this week due to lower back pain.
I have been going for massages and chiropratic appts this week
to feel better and get back at it.
I also have a 3 day skiing weekend coming up on Sunday.
So I am trying to get back in shape for that too.

The weather here is 50 F I may get out and walk today just to
    do something.
KRISTEN: I will be giving my weight on Sunday this week due to going
away for three days. Thanks again for all you do since our group has
    really expanded.
I will be in touch everyday to log in.

I'm going to weigh in early so i don't forget... 252.2

The psa has kept me in bed and on pain meds for the last couple of days. I think it's improving though, i've been able to cut the pain med dosage in half today which is great because i'm not so groggy. Hoping tomorrow i'll be up and moving normally again but likely won't attempt the treadmill for a few more days. So i'm not sure how i'll do in the challenge next week.... as long as i don't head in an upward direction i'll be happy!

Hope everyone has an awesome weigh-in this week. :drinker:

I didn't even really expect to lose this week since it is the week I usually maintain especially after having a nice loss last week. I upped my calories and exercise this week, and it looks like it paid off. Kristin

Amy - I love your story and your pics too. They are incredibly inspiring to me!!
  • Shirley61 – wow! Nice loss!! Congratulations!

Julidav – congrats on a nice loss this week!

Kristin – congratulations on losing again. Really pleased increasing cals & exercise worked for you

I’ve had a weird week and didn’t hit my exercise goal – I just feel so demotivated and I think that showed at my weigh-in. I can't help but feel slightly disappointed but at least I have finally managed to scrape my way into one-derland!

I don't expect to see any changes for weigh in tomorrow as it's still my TOM and I just came back from a big dim sum dinner so i'm sure my sodium is out of this world tonight. Just letting you know you can use my weight from last week cause this one will be a write off. Hope everyone is enjoying what's left of their weekend and good luck tomorrow!!

After last week, I was thinking I'd stay the same or gain, so this was a great surprise! I added the sodium column on my nutrition and WOW! I never realized how much I was consuming! It seems that Mon-Thurs I do fine and then Fri-Sun I go over by a lot. I read on a few boards that sodium is healthy and not something to really focus on but I don't think going over 2500 mg can be healthy! This is something I'm working on, as well as making better choices this week because my brother will be in town and I'm sure we will go out a lot! Hope everyone has a great week!
