    I'm using the accelerometer on my iPod nano for the numbers.

    Darn iPod reset itself when I was at 15k steps back to 12000. Luckily I'd seen the steps and saw it when it reset so I knew how many to add back. It took me 3k to walk back home so I doubled those numbers.

    Great challenge! I was looking to find something that I can do on a daily basis that wouldn't constantly require me to go to the gym. I love my gym but I can't see myself being there everyday.

    I hate treadmills............ I join the gym and don't go, because it is so boring...

    I LOVE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME. It is light later in Wisconsin, and the warm temps help too.

    last night I walked our dead end road three times. the first time was 14 mins, the second time was 13 mins, and the third time was 15 minutes. I check the clock to make sure I am keeping up the pace.


    last night I walked 42 minutes. that is a record for me, because I am a couch potato.

    Hi ...new to the forum. Reading everyone’s post is inspiring. I’ve been gearing myself up to walk again….this forum helps.

    Is it too late to join…what are some of the tools being used to track distance & calories burned?

    It's never too late (well, maybe in April, but there'll be a new post then. :)
    I'm using my iPod nano (it measures steps/calories/miles). Other are using pedometers, Nike+ or runkeeper apps on their phones, walking known distances or just making note of the number of minutes walked. So anything goes-just get out there and walk!

    Yesterday I walked 2 miles over 45 min and today 1 mile in 25 min. I know that is no where near fast but at least I'm being active
