girl's confident in her body == slutty?
this has actually been bugging the crap out of me lately.
I have a group of ~beautiful~ girlfriends on here and we LOVE our bodies - or at least parts of them. Sure, some of us are trying to improve them and many are trying to maintain the beauts they already achieved - but fact remains, we are still happy with what we've got.
Well, part of being happy with what we've got - we are proud to show them off. Yeah - we share them amongst eachother and a few of us even share with a few boys too. I'm not talking porn - i'm just saying pictures that may feature our best assets. as little or as much as that entails is up to each one of us girls.
Now, in our dealings of pictures and tlaking about it and trying to get away with funny profile pictures on fridays - i've seen backlash. I've personally been defriended. I've been called "slutty" (actually, we were all called slutty the other day, but i digress...) we've been reported.
I've seen plenty of man-assets shown around here. tight pants, itty bitty shorts, chests, bellies. I'm sure they are never reported. So what is with the double standard of women? Yes, americans are all freaked out about bare boobs (which are NEVER in public places), but come on, live a little ~or~ just simply ignore it.
I guess I'm not sure what I'm asking. How about this ... Do confident girls piss you off? offend you? do you just ignore it? should girls act more "ladylike"? Or should there be more of us?

A woman who is truly confident in herself and looks is a rare and SEXY best. It's that which truly brings out their beauty.0

people be hatin'0
-
If I were single, I'd totally be slutty.0

One of my favorite quotes from a guy friend when I started losing weight was
SLUT - Women with the morals of a man
LOL I like my friends ( you included) to be confident and sexy personally. Be confident rock on with it and tell anyone who doesnt like it to KISS it lol0 -
I my friends who show off their goods (male or female). Seriously, what ISN'T to love about confidence?0
-
Definitely more.
I am tired of seeing chicks who are cute calling themselves fat because they are comparing themselves to some pic in a magazine that is 75% airbrushed and photoshopped.
That being said, it is a double edged sword. Do I want to see a 350lb person in a bathing suit? No. Am I proud of them for posting it? Yes. Up to me what I click on.
I say post away...they are tasteful and not slutty. You also have to factor in jealousy there exists here..0 -
If I had the nice toned stomach that some of the ladies on here had I'd be showing it off too. You guys worked hard for your nice bodies why wouldn't you? You're not slutty and someone put it right....some people are just jealous. To hell with them.0

Unfortunately, I think people have confused confident women with sluts... many confident women are comfortable showing their bodies, and enjoy sex, and are flirtatious and fun... and to the average uptight American, that means they're a Grade A Slutbag.
How about we all knock off the double standard where a man who takes many partners or shows off their body is a playboy, and a woman who does the same is a *kitten*??
Also, women, let's stop hating on each other, mmkay?0 -

Wow, there are soooo many ways to answer your questions. Have complaints come mostly from men, women, or both? My guess is that it's the ladies complaining ... but that is strictly a guess.
I for one find it a mixed things. First, I'm a man and men (most) are drawn towards the female figure. It's like 99% of our programming. On the other hand, our of respect for my wife, I dry not to notice. I fail most of the time. So for me, would it be easier if there were no temptations? Yes. Will I complain? No.
Part of my attitude stems from my religious beliefs. It's also my religious beliefs that says you have every right to do what you want: it's not my business <-- go figure, I'm not your average christian on those grounds!
Anyway, it's really up to you what you want to do. I for one will not judge you ... and hope I don't stare at your pictures for more than a passing glance!0 -
That is totally awesome.0 -

Seriously. This drives me nuts.0 -

Sean said it all. Got it, flaunt it. - you don't like it, don't look!0 -
Confidence makes people more attractive, its when attractive people push it in your face that they become too confident, and oftne slutty- i think0
-

Jealousy, prudishness, and conservatism all working together to remove anything remotely sexual on an internet forum that requires you to be 18 to join. Absurd....
There is also a double standard here where women who are fit and lean often get reported while women who are overweight and post pics of their bodies do not.0 -
Likely to get reported for posting in the forums at all with my current profile pic, but i support what you're saying, and don't care! i think i'm looking pretty darn good, even at a size 14 (yeah, for real!). So, report away if you want, but i'm proud of how i look. i'm proud that i've worked my *kitten* off, yes, literally, to get here, and have lost 30+ lbs.
before you report though, ask yourself if, when you reach your goal, would it feel good to you if someone reported a pic your proud of? whether you're wearing a bathing suit, workout gear, or nothing at all is your business. if you're proud of what you've got, show what you're comfortable in. it's not for everyone. i get that. but be considerate.
oh, and feel free to call me slutty. i'm a married mother of 2 and a business owner. and a slut. whatever. doesn't bother me!0 -
Bah, prudishness on here is stupid. There's going to be flesh on show at some point! If people don't like it, don't look at it or even block the user!0
-
I am agree! My pics keep getting deleted.
*le sigh*
I personally don't see what the big deal is....0 -
Ahhhh... Bull Poo Poo!!!! Embrace your body and love it!!!!!!!!!!! Don't sweat the weirdies!0
-
Hell one of my motivations is to get to dress "slutty" and look good at it0
-
I have honestly never once seen a complaint either from another guy or a lady about any picture a man has used as an AV here.
That should pretty well answer the question.0 -
I once posted my *kitten* on here..am I a slut too? And when I say *kitten* I mean no underoos or nothing on...0
-
There is a difference between being confident and being slutty.
There is also a difference btween taking pictures to show off your accomplishments and simply seeking attention.
Its called having respect for yourself not to let the world see it simply bcuz you think its some form of confidence.
Your body is meant for you and the person you want to share it with.
Not the internet.0 -
Yep, I really don't get why it is ok for a guy to post pics in shorts, while a girl in sports bra is reported...
It's defenitely doublestandard and it bugs hell out of me...0 -

What if the person I want to share it with IS the internet??0 -

I think confidence is a great thing and I've not been offended by anything I've seen here. I will say that there can be a difference between being and looking confident and taking it too far. Case in point, the lovely Rhianna the other day wore a top that you could see all her boobs in. I mean everything. That's too much and danced into inappropriateness. JMO.0

Thank goodness you are here to police us all and let us know when we're being too slutty for you... sheesh...0 -

i have PLENTY of respect for myself, as well as my husband. i'm confident and proud of myself. my body is meant to share with whom i see fit. not who YOU see fit.0 -
