I don't have a med ball :grumble:0
-
Use anything that can be squeezed. Any ball (though weighted helps) will help you engage your muscles. It can be done with no ball, too. Good luck!!0

I'll give it a shot...it sounds easy, so I know it must be a killer! :laugh:0

Ok..........so what is a wall sit.................and why oh why did I come in this room?
Somehow I just KNOW this is going to hurt:grumble:
I will try it if you tell me what it is, or send me a link. I am up for challenge this day!

Here's a link...http://exercise.about.com/cs/abs/l/blexerciseball.htm. There are other variations, but we can start with this one! :drinker: You don't have to have anything between your knees, it's just for more muscle engagement. Keep the knees apart (square). Hands, and arms should be hanging down, not used for support. :flowerforyou:0

I can do this in the bathroom at work!! I already do push ups and was doing squats, but that is boring.
Wall sits it is!! I will let you know how I do!!

Just don't be grunting and moaning and walk out with "wobbly" sore legs or people are gonna worry what you ACTUALLY do in the bathroom!  (great idea though).
Ya, we can just do it and report how we're improving, like the plank challenge thread. My legs are still sore from 2 days ago-wicked lower workout! Will do it today or tomorrow though.0 -

One word: OW!0 -
TWO MINUTES?! I was dying after 30 seconds! But, in my defense I had just finished doing my C25K running for the day and a hard leg/butt workout after that! :happy:0
-
1st time trying it.... 34 seconds. Bout the same as my planks started. LOL Well, now I'll be doing both, only way to go is UP!0
-
I'll be trying this when I get home - I'll remember to choose a load-bearing wall. I'll post later tonight how long I lasted -
my guess = 26 seconds. :indifferent:0 -
Oh my, I tried this yesterday and *barely* lasted 30 seconds. And I thought my quads were strong!
Had a major workout today though so will go at it again tomorrow. :bigsmile:0 -

I will have to do this on non trainer days. But I know I can do better than 30 seconds!! WOOT!:drinker:0 -

Nina, it is just a different challenge for the same area..........these challenges are awesome to keep from plateauing..............great job!:flowerforyou:0 -
guessed 26 seconds..
remembered a post saying 34 seconds...
so I pushed through to 35 seconds on my first ever wall sit...
my legs feel like jell-o & i think it's time to lay down. LOL I'll add them to my 'potty break routine' at work.0 -

Yay! I'm soo pumped for you guys-I love these challenges cause it's it's something to do to compete with yourself. I'm planking-elbow and side tomorrow, and WS also. I did the 200 Squat challenge with weights last month. It was awesome. I'm gonna start the 100 push up one again on Monday. I had got to 27 when my shoulder redislocated...so now after 2 surgeries, I'm S..L..O...W..L...Y...gonna start again. Initial test-8. WHO'S IN? http://hundredpushups.com/week1.html :flowerforyou:0

Yay!!!!!!!! I love it! I'm doing each challenge 3x/wk so my body has time to rest. Aiming for M-W-F for now, but we'll see. Too much of something isn't always good either. Those muscles need to rest and repair to grow. :flowerforyou:0

Plus I'm in a cycling group and need to meet my 125 mile a week goal0

Ok, I did my Challenges. The good news-I WS for 3:00! Did it first thing of my workout. But planking-  . I was so dissappointed. 1:30! I did worse than last time. It just put me in a bad mood for the afternoon. I work my abs hard and have decent looking abs, it's my lower back. Just kills. Anyone know good lower back strenthening exercises to do? :flowerforyou:0
-
I am out. My knees hurt behind the knee caps.............I think I did it running...........so I have to be easy on the knees for a big.
  :sad:0 -

Hmmm, have you adjusted your butt? My LPT showed me to bring my butt up just a bit out of line with my body if my lower back hurts. It works like a charm.
I still canNOT do the side plank for more than 5 seconds0 -
I'm in.
Gotta find an empty wall, now...
I'll edit with my time.
Edit:
LOL, I'm so pathetic.
34 seconds, and then I fell. My legs were goin' shakety-shake, and then WHAM, I fell against my door.
My mom ran in and was like "Ohmygod! What happened?" And I was laughing like crazy at myself.0 -

:flowerforyou: Rest it out-you don't want to wreck the knees for sure! Once their feeling better, then you can try again. I had bad shin splints and restless legs while I was doing the squat challenge -all about the form. Didn't think I'd be able to finish it, but I took breaks and days off, cause I was too stubborn to go so far into and have to quit. So I finished it with better form. Definitley noticed some shape change and obvious strength to them. Back to the friggin planking tomorrow....0 -
