One phrase that people say that make you CRAZY!

Okay so this is an offshoot of the "one word that makes you cringe" topic.

Mine is "It is what it is..." I can't stand it when someone says that. It is totally over used, and makes no sense whatsoever.

Anything that involves the word "hubby"

"My hubby cooked me dinner today"

Makes him sound like a fat whale from a cartoon

I don't like the overuse of the word "surely" , some people think that just beacuse they are using it they are implying a true statement when typically there are not...

"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels."

Whoever said that is eating all the wrong foods. I would - and did - choose being overweight over giving up yummy foods.

Thankfully, I found you can be lean and still eat what you love... and it's actually a lot easier than avoiding deliciousness.
  • When I had a miscarriage, then an ectopic pregnacy, everyone said, 'well it wasn't meant to be' never really helped my feelings!!

But ... it really IS what it is. But I guess that depends on what the meaning of 'is' is.

Right?? I HATE that quote. It promotes disordered eating, I think.

what?! that's such a horrible thing to say! Pretty sure there's actually nothing that would help in that situation, but telling you it was MEANT to happen is just cruel.

"I'm sorry you feel that way"

Because it basically translates to "I'm not sorry I did what I did, only that you responded so poorly". You might as well just keep that to yourself.

:explode: anything with the word "retarded" or "that's so gay"...really!?!? From the gay perspective it makes me want to smack the living **** out of you and using the word "retarded" is classless and insulting to those who actually are mentally challenged. They both are downing...

    Irregardless.

6 and 1/2 dozen of the other. God I want to hit someone in the eye sockets when they say that.

Murse, moobs, or any other variation of the womenly words turned manly by putting an "M" in front of the word. Here's a clue, it's not funny anymore.

    I can't pick one.....

    Let's see.....

    "Well you're young"

(In response to my weight loss....Meaning I didn't work my A&& off to lose 50 LBS and I have no self discipline because I'm 29 and therefore my weight loss is just not hard earned or something???????)

These are in response to our infertillity....

    "Why don't you guys adopt?"

"Just relax and go on a vacation"

These are in relation to exercize.....

    "I don't have time."

What if you say that's so gay about a purple feather boa designed specifically for a gay man? is it ok then

LOL. I hate that one. Especailly when 40 and 50 year olds say it. I expect a 13 year old to say it because 13 year olds are idiots. But, i don't expect actual adults to walk around saying, "I know, right?"

I had this same issue when we lost our twins (4 years ago). People don't know what to say so they say cliche things that if they actually thought of the VOMIT they were spewing out of their mouths, they'd be ashamed.
