    I may be weird, but for me this poem has always been my motivation.. whether it is working out or just going through a bad time in my life. It makes me want to go work out actually.

    IF you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;

    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

    If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;

    If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;

    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    ' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
    if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;

    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!.

    What I eat in private, I wear in public.

    Is it really worth it?

    Remember how good you felt yesterday? If you want that today, you have to do it again today.

    One day at a time, one meal at a time, one snack at a time....not forever or for the rest of my life. Just today.
  • Love these, now I can come back and have a look at all these great sayings!!

    Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret!

    The way I heard it was "The pain of discipline is so much less than the pain of regret."

    'Feeling good and looking good dont come easy!' works for me most of the time.
    Another i have is eat it now see it ON my stomach later.:explode:
  • "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" is one (although there are certainly a few things that taste that good...)

    The other one is in one of the Biggest Loser work out DVDs, Jillian Michaels screams out, "DO YOU *WANT* TO BE *SKINNY*??". My answer is yes. So I don't quit, I don't cheat. I power through!

    "Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles; it empties today of its strength."
    Author unknown

    Someone will always be prettier.
    They will always be smarter.
    Their house will be bigger.
    They will drive a better car.
    Their children will do better in school.
    And their husband will fix more things around the house.
    So let it go,
    and love you and your circumstances.
    Think about it.
    The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.
    And the most highly favored
    Woman on your job may be unable to have children.
    And the richest woman you know,
    she's got the car, the house, the clothes....might be lonely.
    And the word says if "I have not Love, I am nothing."
    So, again, love you.
    Love who you are.
    Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say
    "I am too blessed to be stressed and too anointed to be disappointed!"
    "Winners make things happen.
    Losers let things happen."
    "To the world you might be one person,
    but to one person you just might be the world".

    Goodness ... This is beautiful!!! almost brought tears to my eyes! Thanks!!!

    My profile used to say "I don't want to look good 'for a mom,' I just want to straight up look good."

    But now I definitely stick to fueling my activities. Eating like I used to would never fuel

    I tend to think of calories as money. "I don't want to spend that much on that!"

    Whenever I lose a pound I also think of what a block of Velveeta cheese looks like. "I've lost 26 blocks of Velveeta! Sure glad I'm not toting them around anymore!" (I do realize that one is kinda weird lol)

    1 more mile, 1 more minute, 1 more sec...what ever it is... you can always do 1 more.
    When this is over. Ill be the one who did it; no one else.

    I love this....Im working on getting it memorized

    Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.
