Well I think the best advise I can give you is to not do it alone! I have lost weight before but gained it all back. Now this time I added friends to my profile and they keep me positive. I know it sounds stupid but I feel that the pressure to keep my friends happy is to work hard on my workouts and eating healthy.

If your still reading then you may think like me but really the bottom line is calories in=calories out.

Eat slowly so that you enjoy every mouthful of your meal, think about how full you feel and stop when you are! Even if you have food left on your plate!

Eat complex carbs, good fats, less sodium and more protein as well as lift weights. I reached my target weight 8 weeks ago and I'm still shedding fat while getting toned.

Get plenty of sleep! The more sleep deprived you are, the more likely you will over eat or make bad food choices

  • But dark chocolate at 60% or more triggers free fatty acids to burn fat.
I lost pounds eating dark chocolate....

    Sigh...

Eat more healthy food, exercise, and keep water with you at all times. When you think you are hungry drink a glass of water first then you'll see if you are really hungry or just thirsty. I also find it helpful to drink a full glass of water prior to each meal so you don't over eat.

For me, I eat whatever I want. If I have a day where I want to live off chocolate and crisps; I will. As long as it's in my calorie limit (which doesn't allow very much of either!) I don't do it very often, usually it will be a balance between healthy food (oats, yoghurts, eggs, chicken, whatever) and, as long as I have enough calories left at the end of the day, I can have some chocolate. I've also found healthy alternatives to what I used to eat, e.g. ice cream which is just whole milk and only has 49 calories per lolly. If I want something I will have it and I will make allowances for it, even if it means skipping lunch or something. I know that's not healthy but I would rather make the necessary sacrifice than go on a binging rampage a few hours later when I think "*kitten* it, I'm going to have it anyway" and lose the last couple of days progress. Obviously I don't do that everyday, but during certain periods (e.g. Easter) I have had to make sacrifices to have an Easter egg. But the majority of time I have a healthy and balanced diet in which I very rarely go over my calorie limits.

CALORIES IN VS CALORIES OUT......that is all you need to know, no special formula, no magic pill, shake etc.

Best tip in this thread and that's all that really matters.
