My two favorites:
* Cook up some quinoa, then mix in a little butter, dried cranberries, toasted pine nuts, turmeric, and carroway seeds.
* Mix cooked quinoa with cubed butternut squash, kale, and a pack of Tasty Bite Indian food. I like the tofu/corn masala one.0 -
First time I ever had quinoa was in this:

Delicious. Even my Dad liked it.
I also substituted quinoa in for the barley in this recipe:

Turned out OK, a little watery, but I think that was more to do with the mushrooms and onions than anything else.0 -

I've made tabbouleh with it, put it in place of rice, even made "mexican style" stuffed peppers with it!! I love it and I agree buying it online is WAY cheaper!!0

what can I expect to pay on Amazon or Costco? I have never heard of this stuff until recently. Excited to give it a try!
$10 for a good sized bag at costco0 -
I neat tip: replace half the recommended water for cooking with a stock or broth (I use chicken, but you could use veggie or whatever type you want). It really ups the flavor.
I also like adding a wedge of laughing cow cheese (the garlic and herb stuff goes especially well with the taste of chicken broth) to give it a nice creamy texture. You could also achieve the creamy texture by adding ranch dressing, greek yogurt, or condensed "cream of____" soup base.
Then, add some veggies and herbs (I like to add basil and fennel)
Delicious, and nutritious.0 -

My favorite way to eat it is to cook it in chicken broth, right before it's finished I'll add a can of Rotel tomatoes with chilies and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
It's also good to use as a base for stuffed peppers!
That sounds AMAZINGLY DELISH! Thanks0 -
