You can mix cottage cheese, dry ranch dip, and ff milk in a blender to make a low cal ranch dressing. Just add enough milk for consistency. It's really good!0

I just eat mine plain. I get 4% milkfat though. Non-fat is just nasty, it tastes sour.0

I heard this tip from a friend for my sweet cravings using cottage cheese:
Blend some cottage cheese, peanut butter and some splenda to taste. The end result is something like peanut butter pie filling. You could also whip some egg whites up and fold them in to create a peanut butter mousse0 -
Wrap it in a corn tortilla for some awesome cottage cheese enchiladas!
Add some fresh Onion and tomato for some added awesome ness.
Or make tacos with Grilled bell peppers onion and avocado.
I love cottage cheese, growing up we made the enchilas but we added chili sauce and Cheddar cheese, but you dont need that. Corn and cottage cheese go well together if your not feeling something sweet with it.
I love red enchiladas with cottage cheese...not too healthy but delicious!!!!!0 -
Try freezing it, maybe add a bit of cinnamon/sweetener.
Then it tastes just like ice cream!0 -

i like it mixed with some fruit...but, my favorite is to mix it with some pecans & cut up green olives with pimento.0

i like it straight up out of the container with a little salt and pepper
or i will put a couple spoonfulls on my salad (i cannot have dressings; my body does not process vinegar well) and that is really good too.
you could throw it in a processor too and blend it up and dip fruit slices in if you want.0 -
I put it on my salads and just mix it in with a little ranch dressing. It makes me feel like I'm eating a salad DRENCHED in dressing (a feeling that appeals to me), but it's really cottage cheese! (with the small amount of ranch for flavor). Also the curds are little bites of awesome in a salad. I also have recently discovered that it's good on something like mashed potatoes or a baked potato instead of sour cream. I dislike it plain. The adding it to a salad thing is the biggest reason I buy it!0

Eat it... plain. Add some pineapple.0

Haha, I'm eating cottage cheese right now! My favorite way to eat it is: 1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese, 1/2 cup partially thawed frozen blueberries, 1-2 tbs chopped walnuts or almonds. Yum! (ps; I definitely recommend 2% over nonfat. The small amount of fat is worth the taste and I think it's lower in sodium.)0

BUMP to work my way through these later.
I LOVE cottage cheese.
I add a little chopped chorizo, ground black
pepper and a dash of lemon or lime and have
on crackers or jacket potato0 -
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 banana
3 egg whites
vanilla
cinnamon
put it in a blender, mix and pour onto a hot lightly sprayed pan or griddle
flip when there are bubbles
makes about 3 pancakes
I like mine with jam or fresh fruit!
I'm gonna try that for my lunch tomorrow0 -

I use it when making my tuna salad. I use:
1 can (6 oz) tuna
1/3 cup cottage cheese
2 tbsp low fat Mayo
1/4 cup onion
1 celery stalk
2 tbsp parsley flakes
1 teaspoon of mustard
Black pepper
Tony's seasoning
I mix everything up and have it on toast, regular bread, or a flour tortilla (discovered it wasn't so bad when I ran out of bread)0 -
I'm currently eating 1/2 cup cottage cheese with 2 strawberries, a clementina orange and 1/4 cup cranberry almond granola all mixed in. Om nom nom.0

Some great ideas in this thread. I'm still working my way through them, but there are definitely things I want to try. I like mine plain or with a little cinnamon and some fruit. I have to say, though, that I'm not a fan of free cottage cheese. I like the 1% and the 2%, but this seems, to me, like a food that needs a little fat.0

Bump for later0

mix in ranch dressing powder....hmmm...that sounds like it could be good. I have never tried it but I have the powder so I will check it out.0

A great way to have it is in your own recipe for lasagna, just add frozen, thawed spinach and drain it well, pick your own sauce, some pre-cooked noodles and you're good to go!!! Of course, it's also great on it's own as a snack, you'd be surprised how far 1/2 cup can go!!! :happy:0

I seen a recipe on TV today that said to take low fat cottage cheese, add cinnamon, vanilla extract, splenda, and diced apples. It looked good and kind of sounds good, I have yet to try it though.0

Just this Easter I saw a recipe with cottage in sweet cinnamon rolls.0

I haven't read through the whole post yet, but you can mix it with a box of sugar free jello (any flavor you like), some cool whip light, some pineapple chunks, and a container of cottage cheese and it's yummy.0
