I never even thought of this, but I really should! I am severely allergic to an antibiotic and should probably at LEAST wear that bracelet especially while alone. Especially right now since I am pregnant. Good post, OP.

lol I am kind of one of those pseudo weirdo survivalist guys carries way to much stuff on me when Im out.

When I am out walking I always have

DL, Cash, Keys, Knife, iphone and my blood donor card.

Keep the DL, Cash, Blood Donor card (has blood type and most updated address on it at all times) in a business card holder.

At night I always have my E2Defender flashlight with me or my maglight.

When I go to the beach I have my little survival kit in my truck.

    Always be prepared.

Have any of you tried 1BandID (www.1BandID.com). New company, similar concept, but 1BandID attaches to any watch, GPS or Heart Rate monitor band. One less thing to worry about forgetting.

This thread reminded me that I need a new nametag for my dog... he's wore through and fell off. He has his Rabies tag and lifetime license, but the vet and shelter aren't always open, and they don't have our address or phone number on them.

So as long as I was getting him a new tag, I got myself a military style dog tag I can wear on a necklace. So for everyone who's too cheap for a real roadid... for two tags, it came to less than $5 with free shipping at http://www.pettags4less.com . Like 'em on FB for an extra 15% a purchase of two.

I need to invest in a Road ID, but I'm tattoo'd (sleeved) so I'm sure someone could identify me.. :)

I've got a wrist RoadID now (went through two ankle ones first, because they were easier when doing triathalons). I would recommend against the shoe ones because if you got hit by a car, there is a good chance your shoes might fly off. Bye-bye ID. You aren't as likely to have a wrist one end up that far from your body.

This has been a super helpful thread. I usually just run with my GPS and have moronically assume that someone would eventually figure out it's me. I'm definitely going to have to get a Road ID. Question for those with RoadIDs: Any preference between the "Sport" and the "Slim" versions? I hate carrying almost anything when running and was thinking that I'm more likely to wear the Slim version.

I went with the Slim and now pretty much I don't even notice that it is there. (I also have pretty petite wrists, so I feel like anything bigger would be annoying to me.)

RoadID ordered - the ARR6887 discount code basically covered the shipping! Yay!

Never thought of it before but it's a good thing because I have a pretty bad (won't likely kill me but will make me violently ill) allergy to SULFA meds so now that'll be on my person in case something does happen to me. I know both of the local hospitals have me in their records but one has me under my maiden name so who knows if they'd put 2 & 2 together.

Got the slim model so there was a bit less space - at least got my name, year of birth, city, Hubs cell #, allergy info and med ins info on there. That, along with having my cell phone on me, should pretty much cover me if something happens.

I'll be ordering the arm band for my cell phone tomorrow. Since I'm going through Amazon, I'm going to wait and ask Hubs if there are any DVDs he wants me to order so I can add those on and get free shipping.

I know a tri-athlete hardcore guy who does all the Tough Mudders, randomly goes canyon hiking and running, does base jumping all around nut case (but man I envy him)

He tatooed his Name, DOB and blood type on his back and leg. He has the blood type shoe lace pull through's and announces every where he is at on facebook.

Kinda nutty about it but man, he is prepared.

I'd invest in the interactive version then, so you can put that info online. They engrave a serial number and pin into the plate, and the first responders /hospital folk can call or go online and pull up all your info without having to worry if your emergency contact is available with all your info on hand.

    AHH.. Awesome thread!

What about keys? Any way to keep a house key on you without it feeling like an obnoxious burden and/or being totally obvious (i.e., a fanny pack)? I'd really like to start running, but can't fathom doing it without having my key and IDs.

Get another doorkey cut that is to be used only for when you go out running, put it on a baby's large safety pin (the ones they use for washable terry-towling nappies/diapers and pin it inside a pocket or tie it on your shoelace or something.

I got a thank you email from RoadID with a coupon code for $1 off: ThanksAmy13871483 It can be used up to 20 times for the next 30 days.

But the code someone else posted is good for $2 off, so if that one still works, use that: ARR6887

And the Facebook code for 10% off is: pcMomFB12

Can't wait for mine to land in my mailbox!

My Dh is all super freaked about something happening to me when I run. I got a shoe ID with the thought , well if it's on my running shoes I won't forget it. Well never occured to me until this thread my shoe could come off. Guess I will be ordering a second one for my wrist. I usually have phone and IPOD when I run. Mine just says my name and dh's name and his phone number

Right now I am using the RoadID app. I plan on getting a RoadID proper soon, though.
