    Hey you!

First and foremost, stop being so obsessed with yourself and what others think of you. Befriend Sarah now. You may think she's a dork but she eventually become your best friend and be the one of the greatest people you've ever had in your life. Don't try to act like "the man" by unnecessarily stealing a base in softball during the 3rd game of the season. You wreck you ankle and never play again. This will lead to an episode of depression and weight gain which you'll spend many unsuccessful years trying to correct.
Oh and walk into the classroom right next door to your English class. Inside you'll find a guy named Drew. Introduce yourself to him and ask him on a date. If not you'll spend many nights between now and senior year crying over silly, useless boys when all along this boy was the one for you and the one you'll eventually marry.

    xoxo
    me

p.s. Oh and stop tanning now...it's really gross.

    Love yourself more.
Know that you are beautiful inside and out. Stop the negative self talk. Build your confidence.
Spend more time with your mother--she's still grieving the loss of your dad a year ago, she's not uncaring, she's just having a really hard time being a single parent.
Be nicer to your brother. You will always be the bratty little sister--get over it and enjoy your friendship before he moves 1000 miles away.
    Save your money.
Spend more time focusing on school and less on the boys you're crushing on.
Don't drink so much. Don't bother trying weed, it's a waste of time.
Spend more time with Grandpa G. He only has a few years left.
    Stay active!
Try something new. Don't be so afraid all the time.

    Dear 16 year old self,
life really beings after high school so if you don't like things they way they are....wait it out....EVERYTHING changes after graduation! If you don't like something in your life...CHANGE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't start smoking cigarettes. Don't skip classes. Find ways to stay physically active after high school sports and make new friends. Go to college and get your degree before you decide to get married and start a family. Just because a guy is 13 years older than you and has a job and a car does not mean he has his **** together. He's just confused with more years of practice than me. Want to make God laugh? Tell her you have plans!!!!!!!!!!!! Learn to RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love,
    older me

    1. Stay away from Rob - he IS going to try to choke you and stalk you for years to come. You will never be free of him unless you nip it in the bud now.
    2. Enjoy your time with Mick, it's was worth it even though it wasn't meant to be. Don't change yourself for him.
    3. Please take it easy with the booze - it's going to lead you to do so many things that you will NOT be proud of. It's also going to aggrevate an anxiety disorder that you don't kow you have yet.

    Dear 16 Year Old Self,

Forget the partying and read more. Even though you do well in school, you can do better, and you should hang out with the girls you have more in common with (when sober and not partying). Your brain is hungry; feed it with good stuff.

Don't worry about guys liking or not liking you. Develop your own talents first. When you have choices to make, make them in favor of the long-term and your own needs, not your mother's expectations, which are a little low for you.

You'll never fail at anything when you really, really try. Okay, you might not succeed at first, but you won't fail in the end. The point is, pick something, make a choice, and then go for it. Don't avoid making choices. Just choose something; stop waiting to find out what your friends are doing, or your parents, or your siblings.

Stop holding yourself back because it makes someone else feel bad (for example one of your brothers, or one of your sisters).

And, one more thing: the people who complain the most don't necessarily have the hardest lives. They happen to be the biggest whiners, and it's not your job to make them feel better.

    Love,
    Me at 49

    Dear me,

Start using that treadmill everyday and eat less! You will regret not exercising sooner! And you will also regret eating crap! You will later in life punish yourself for the mistakes of not starting sooner... Just thank within a year before getting outta high school you could be 40lbs or more lighter... Why wait?

    Dear 16 year old me:

It is much easier to get fit and be healthy at your age than it is at 40, so do it now! Oh, yeah-you are going to have two BEAUTIFUL, amazing daughters...and your life may not be what you thought it would be but it will be awesome!

    Dear 16 year old self:

Stop being so mean to your dad, you will lose him at 20. He will not see your babies grow up and your babies will only know him by picture. Be proactive in getting him help. He needs it. He is keeping a secret from you that if you knew you could of saved his life. BE MORE INVOLVED IN HIS LIFE, he needs YOU!

Stop being angry, stop controlling your best friend, later your relationship will not be as strong as you thought and you will not feel so lonely now.

Study more. College is hard. You will graduate college. Find out what you really want out of life now because it will be harder later!

    Dear 16 yr old self,
Don't feel bad about yourself, because you are a great person
True love will come and u will be married with a kid
Also, just cuz u won't go to either junior or senior prom doesn't make a loser, but rather someone who knows how to hold onto their dignity
You will lose your mom when u r 20, ur grandmother at 21, and almost lose ur dad because of heart issues, so just be careful
u won't get into au for music ed, and will have to leave, but the best thing is ur soulmate....and tech crew
continue working out, u don't wanna be 214
stay away from the ex before ur hubby, the guy is obessed and will never leave u alone whatsoever until u move (thats right another move in the future)
u will head to two other colleges before deciding that enough is enough
keep studying more then usual, u will need it
One final thing: be true to urself and not hang around with fake people. the people u know will not be the friends there by ur side, but rather ur family that abandoned u when u were 11 yrs old because of ur fathers butt dumbery will be there and u will see them again, especially cuz ur godfather will walk u down the aisle.

    sincerely,
    me

also, u will be at a newspaper and at a college where people recognize ur potential, just saying, and high school never ends.

Don't drop out of school first and foremost, it takes so much more effort to back track.
Besides, if you stay in school and keep swimming competitively you will meet your true partner ten years earlier than you did.

Love yourself, find yourself, figure things out before you worry about finding someone and starting a family. They will happen, but they don't need to happen first.

P.S. Take better care of your teeth lazy a**, they are expensive to fix and cut ties with Mom as soon as possible after high school. It's detrimental to your emotional health, she will treat your kids the same way.

Don't marry the first guy you sleep with, he will end up cheating on you and you will have to raise her baby. Besides that, he will be an alcoholic and make your life miserable. You are gorgeous and smart and will have a great job one day, don't settle early.

    Oh how fun is life!!

    Hey Kiddo,

    1) Those idiots on student council who said high school should be the best time of your life were wrong. Things will get better in college. MUCH BETTER.
    2) Everyone has an agenda. EVERYONE.
    3) There's nothing wrong with you. You are beautiful and you deserve love.

    Love Always,
    Me/You xoxo
