This doesn't mean you have to stop eating my cooking! (If it has a stick of butter in it, it does!)
I bought you some double fudge brownies!
You seriously think you can do that?
What, my (insert X0,000 calorie food) doesn't fit in with your little diet?
You HAVE to eat this. It's not fair to YOU if you don't eat this.
"Don't get too extreme!" Um, I've lost 5 freakin pounds so please, unless I'm showing obvious signs of starvation, or too much time is being taken from my family, don't even go there!0 -
"THAT'S NOT ON YOUR DIET!"0
-
Oh yeah, and when I occasionally have a peanut butter cookie on the weekends (just ONE), and offer some to my hubby, he says "So that's on your diet, huh?"
It's a lifestyle change, and i don't eat three cookies any more, just one, and only sometimes, not every day. It's a process. So SHUT IT.
But really he loves me just the way I am, he just likes to tease :-)
THIS IS MY LIFE! haha good to know i'm not alone.0 -
'OMG you need to stop losing weight. You're almost as skinny as I am!' (I aint skinny and neither were/are you!)
'So, do you eat, like, salads all the time?' (Sure. If salads come in the form of burgers, fries, and almost everything else.)
"Gasp! You're actually eating FOOD?' (Yes, *kitten*. Like every single day, I eat food. Just because I don't eat half my weight in food and booze doesn't mean I'm starving!)
'So you don't get like.. hungry?" (Yeah, cuz y'know.. when you start to lose weight, that 'taking in nourishment for your body' just gets old. These days I feed through photosynthesis. Mmmmm sunlight.)
'Can you still drink and eat pizza?' (F!ck yeah!)
"Girl you look good! You should stop dieting!" (1.No diet. 2.Falcon PUNCH)0 -
My favorite these days is "you've been working so hard, you deserve that treat!" uhmmmm I'm not a dog!!!
I hear this one. New shoes is a better treat than junk :bigsmile:0 -
Here is an example, I tell them I eat whatever, I just watch my intake and count my calories and sometimes people will say, " well, I'm not dieting, so I can eat what I want!" Just seems like they don't care and 9 times out of 10 they really don't.0
-
Ive seen a few of you mention this "I can't eat that stuff, I need real food." "eating like that you should be skinny" "how are you your size when that's all you eat?"
This was back when I had a crazy healthy diet. I wish I could make myself get back to that. I think since I moved to Philadelphia I have become addicted to unhealthy foods. I was never this bad before. It's disgusting and I i'm disgusted by how I look and feel.0 -
My roommate...
"Why do you take that protien Powder?"
"You don't eat enough." I'm only eating around 3000 calories a day.
From other people,
"Did you stop eating carbs?" No, I eat plenty of them.
"Did you stop drinking beer?" Nope, Just don't drink as much
"It must suck not to eat real food." I had a steak last night.
"What type of diet are you on?" I'm not on a diet... I just eat healthy.
I love the "real food" questions. I have steak, shrimp, chicken, potatoes, veggies of all kinds. Apparently if it doesn't come in a box with instructions on the label, it's not real right? By the way, I do the extra protein shots too. Each one has 26g. I take them right before I work out. Makes me feel better and I'm not as sore the next day.'So you don't get like.. hungry?" (Yeah, cuz y'know.. when you start to lose weight, that 'taking in nourishment for your body' just gets old. These days I feed through photosynthesis. Mmmmm sunlight.)
LOL0 -
"you eat like a bird" it's called portion control!0

When people hear that you're making a choice for yourself that isn't the choice they are making for themselves, they get defensive.
My response: This is a person choice. If you don't approve, that's okay.0 -
LOL!! I get that all the time!!!0

OMG I HATE this, especially if he reaches for the Frosted Flakes as he's saying it (wtf??)0 -
Regarding counting calories and watching macros:
"Special occasions shouldn't count against what you're doing... They're "free-bees"0 -
Mom: "I'll pay you ten dollars per pound you lose."
Me: "Ok I'll take that bet."
...She had to cap it at 50 pounds or $500 dollars and I got a shopping spree I have to give her credit though, she really was trying to help and it worked.0 -
I didn't read all of the post so I am sorry if this is a repeat but, "What did you do to lose so much weight? What diet are you on?"
I smile-"It isn't a diet. I am counting my calories and exercising. It really is true that it works."0 -

What! Jealous! I wish someone would offer me money to lose weight. That is GREAT motivation.0 -

"Special occasions shouldn't count against what you're doing... They're "free-bees"
Or the most potentially destructive, when at a party: "Hey, you've just had a beer. Your diet is blown for the day anyway, so why not take a day off and start in on these nachos and pizza? Go all out! You can go back to dieting tomorrow! Take a day off!"
Umm, no. I do allow myself to go over in calories some days, but not for cheap-*kitten* nachos and greasy pizza. And "I'm over by a little" does not lead it "so it's OK to be over by a LOT."0 -
wow ive heard that one before way to many times0

Why aren't you losing weight faster? You should talk to your doctor about that.
This was said to me by my "friend" who's currently losing weight with the help of phentermine. She openly admits that she has no desire to change the way she eats and is proud of the fact that with the help of phentermine, she can go all day without eating anything and then binges on whole bags of pizza rolls at 10 pm or better yet, wakes up with empty chip bags in her bed. But she's still lost 11 lbs in a month compared to my 6 so obviously her diet is better and I should take pills with her. :huh:0 -
"If you really want to lose weight, here's what you do. Every day, eat 2 cups of brown rice, 1 cup of carrot juice, and 2 cups of milk... and *that's all you should eat*."
The funny thing is, I just entered that "diet" into my diary for tomorrow, just for grins. Using whole milk, it's a sparse but relatively well-balanced diet. It's 816 calories, so you certainly couldn't LIVE on it comfortably, but it at least has approximately the right proportions of fat, carbs, and proteins.
In fact, by doubling the milk and adding a cup of rice, the diet is only lacking ten grams of fat to be a perfect daily intake for me, plus I'd have to add a little sodium and look into a multivitamin or something.
Not that I would want to eat the same thing every day or find that satisfying, but DAMN that's close to an ideal combination if you had to pick only three things to eat. This doctor may not be so much of a quack, other than the silly "and ONLY eat that" BS.
First off I would starve eating only this and it wouldn't do anything for my diabetes either. Maybe cholesterol hmm let me think about this for a minute, NOT. :noway:0 -

It totally was, and she kept pestering me until I kept at it0 -
Oh I hate when people make comments about not being able to eat in front of me, or apologize for eating something I can't. Like seriously guys, I have self-control and I'm not going to be drooling and feeling bad for myself b/c you're eating cookies.0
-
"I bet you don't even use that gym membership. You just like to flash around the card."
"You're a Southerner! Southerners don't drink water, we drink tea--SWEET tea!" Oddly enough I got this from a complete stranger in a restaurant right after she had yelled at the waiter for bringing her unsweet as though there weren't a million sweetener packets on the table that would've done the same damn thing. My "I don't even like sweet tea" excuse wasn't good enough for her.
"So I guess when you're skinny you'll dress like a slut too, huh?"0 -
People always keep asking if I'm on a low carb diet when I tell them that I'm trying to eat less carbs.. But nope, I just eat too much of them compared to the fat and protein I'm eating. One person actually thought that I was avoiding carbs at all causes.0
-
My favorite so far has been "are you sure your body can take running" yes i am pretty sure it can take running since not running is what got me into this in the first place.
I have since done two 5ks and signed up for a half marathon... where to be honest my goal is not to die.0 -

Hubs says my reward for the weight loss will be $1500 for new clothes and then a boob lift. I DESERVE IT.0
