5'8" ladies, what is your goal weight?

Hi
I'm 5'8" I have had four children and am the wrong side of forty
Starting weight was nearly 14 stone 4 lbs I decided to loose weight in stages.
I lost a stone to start off with and made sure I maintained that weight for a month or so.
Then I hit the exercise a bit harder and am now at 12 stone 3lbs and working really hard to get to my first goal of 11 st 10lbs which is what I weighed when my second child was born ( he is now 13)
then I will set my next goal I have an idea what I would like to weigh but think I will be guided by how the clothes fit
Most guide lines say should weigh about 10 1/2 stone but in all honesty I'm not sure I could loose that much
I'm sorry to write in stones and pounds but I just can't get my head around the bigger figure of just lbs
keep it up what ever works best for you0 -
I am 5'8.5" I am at 150ish now, and I am shooting for 135-140.
I put on about 15 lbs of depression weight after a recent miscarriage. I am trying to get back to where I felt the healthiest.
Any lower than than 135 and I look sick.
I would be fine with higher numbers if it was all lean mean muscle!
But until then I am just going to try to get the numbers down with cardio, circuit training, and calorie counting.0 -
I'm also 5' 8". My current weight is 161 and I have my goal set around 145. It is subject to change. I may quit at 150 or I might feel I have a tiny bit more to lose. In the past 7 years, I haven't gotten below my current weight, so my goal is to be the weight that makes me feel the most comfortable with my reflection in the mirror. I'm not quite there yet.0

I'm 5"8,
SW: 232lbs
GW: 164lbs
I'm at goal now...(well I'm actually 168lbs, but my body fat % has gone down), it's muscle I've put on and I've lost inches. I wouldn't want to be any smaller than this. I have a large frame and hips and boobs.
I initially wanted to be a size 12 (UK) and a *healthy* bmi (just)...once I got to goal and started maintenance I've put on 4lbs but lost a whole dress size...which I'm a bit annoyed about as I don't think (for me) a size 10 UK is sustainable...I want to be a solid always size 12...but that's coz of my height, build etc...
Anyways I'm now quite toned and suchlike, still seeing where I get to...I don't think you can really predict anything til you get closer...When I hit 170lbs people were telling me I was the perfect size (originally), and I was already at my goal size..,ok things wern't as toned, but physically in terms of size I was there...
If I go any smaller I think for me I'll look too small... I have photos on my profile, though the smallest pics are of me in Jan and Feb in about 3 layers of clothes, and I've lost size since then, but havn't taken any new pics...hmmm should probably go take some!0 -
I am trying to be more realistic. I started at close to 300 and I am hoping to get to about 180. Sure that is overweight, but I think I would be more comfortable there than say 150.0

I'm 5'8 with a prolly large-ish frame..My goal weight is around 155lb. My highest weight was 290 and my current weight is 258.0

Hey I'm 5'8 I started at 162lbs
I'm now at 140 and my goal weight is 137 so not far off now! x0 -
I'm 5'8 and am aiming for 165-180... I have a very large bone structure0

Hi
I'm 5ft 8, SW 219lbs, CW 202.9lbs, GW 150lbs (ish) I guess it depends on how I look. I'm quite broad and have wide hips (after 3 very large babies) so I don't think I could ever achieve a petite image. I think I'm aiming for a solid UK 12.
Good luck everyone. x0 -
In high school I was 115-130 and on Ritalin. Once I had a choice I got off it and my body started changing as I reached a healthier weight, and eventually an unhealthy weight. For one thing I went from a B to a C to a D to a DD. The whole time I was that 115-130 I had doctors telling me to gain and other girls saying they were jealous, so keep in mind what a warped standard of beauty this country has, ladies! Some bodies at 5'8 might be okay at that weight, but on me it was unnatural and too thin!
Anyway,
SW: 161
CW:147
GW: 144
Toning and exercise are the main goals after that.
Also, for about six months I was maintaining at 153-150 and decided that while that was okay I could stand more. I'm now seeing the things I missed the most about my body again and stopped feeling heavy.
Feel free to add me, I'm in this for the long haul!0 -
I want to get under 140 but not sure how much under that number. It's interesting to see the range of goal weights. At my lowest I was 125 and could barely squeeze into a size 8! I suppose it is my pear shape.
Feel free to add me as well!0 -
Add me I am 5'8 1/2 I was 214 and now I am 183 my goal weight is also 150 I am going to change it to 140 fit once I hit 150... I have been 125 at this height and in my opinion because I always have curves and boobs, it's 2 skinny for me. I figure once I see ab Muscles I'll be happy or around a 4-7 jean size I'll be comfortable there !0

I'm 5 '8.5 and my goal weight is 147 (10.5st) that will be the lowest I could go though without looking too thin and might even be a bit too much - having been thin before a comfortable weight for me is around 154 (11st) or just under. At that weight I would be a UK size 10/12. Which for me is perfect.0

I'm 5'9" and my goal weight is 70kg0

I'm just under 5'8" and my goal weight is 135. I hit 140 the other day...I may go as low as 130, depending how I feel. I was very very thin in high school and early university. I was probably at my goal weight when I was in my early twenties, for a brief period. I feel like I went from 120-145/150 in only a couple of years, so I skipped right past my sweet spot Too skinny at 120, muffin top at 150...I weighed 159 around New Year's, and I couldn't fit into my pants...or my dress. Feelin pretty good right now!
All you ladies are doing great!
***feel free to add me!!!***0 -
I am 5'7" my goal weight is 145, possibly 140, if I get any lower I tend to look unhealthy and it is too hard to maintain.0

Hi,
I'm 5'8" too. And 40 yrs old.
SW: 157
CW: 149
GW: 137
I feel much better even after just losing 8 lbs or so. 137 is what I weighed before I got pregnant both times. I was healthy and my clothes fit. I probably have more muscle now that I did then, so I'll pay more attention to the clothes than the numbers at this point.
Cheers!0 -
I'm 5'8, my starting weight was 188. Current weight is 172. Goal weight is 160. I have medium to large frame.
I have been down as low as 145 before which I think was a little too low, my collar bones and ribs were starting to be prominent.
After reading everyone's goals, I feel like 160 is a realistic and obtainable target. Could maybe go down to 155.
Best of luck to everyone! Keep up the good work!0 -
I am 5'9" and want to get to about 135 HOWEVER, it will depend on how much lean muscle you put on in the process. It'll give you pounds but looks great and actually makes you look fit rather than "skinny". Plus, muscle burns fat so it helps in the whole process! In the end, it'll be about how you want to look and how you feel about that look. I am going for a Jamie Eason-type style (but again, I'm quite a bit taller than she is) so I will weigh whatever I weigh when I see the body emerge that I aim aiming for :-D
Don't give up! Get to what makes YOU happy and healthy!0 -
I am 5'9 and weigh 330 lbs. My first goal is 200 lbs, and then i would be happy with 150 lb - 180 lb. I have a bigger frame and think I would look fab at that weight.0

I think your Goal Weight sounds like a really healthy goal!
5'5 1/2

26 lbs. weight loss so far since Dec. 1st. Good luck on your goal!0 -
I am about 5'8"
Sw: 285
Cw: 185
Gw: 170 this is what i started at for a Gw.
Gw: 150 after losing some weight I think I should see how this looks.
I haven't been in the 150's since I was about 11 years old so I have no clue what I will look like but I am going for toning after hitting my first Gw and will reduce my cardio and double my weight training.
Anyone feel free to add me, always looking for dedicated friends to finish this journey with me0 -
I am around 5'8'' and my Starting weight was 170 and now I am around 168 my goal is 140!!0

Just under 5'8". Starting weight was 165, and now at 147. Would like to be 135 again (was 130 before kids). The woman on page one who made it to 130 and took the awesome muscle shot really nailed it.
Good luck to us (slightly) taller ladies!0 -
I'm 5'8" with a bigger frame. Here is my before and kinda current picture. My goal weight is 165, I am currently at 203. We will see how I feel at 165 and go from there.

My highest weight was 207, and I was miserable. :P
My goal weight is 160. I'm large boned and athletic though, so that probably wouldn't be a healthy weight for a lot of people...:)0 -
I am just under 5'9, and my goal weight is 163. I'm never going to be a skinny little thing - my body just isn't cut out for it. Gotta love that German build. I'm really aiming to just make it to the top of my healthy weight range as well as work towards maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.0

My biggest suggestion would be to find a look you like. I've been working my *kitten* off trying to lose a bunch of weight and while I'm not losing a lot yet, I'm liking the way I look more and more. You have to be happy with your body after all, and you're not going to know where that ideal weight is, until you get there. Enjoy the journey and remain honest with youself. Best of luck!! I'm rooting for you.0
