I am a freelance web designer / developer with my own company. I do my own web sites and also have several contracted companies which have their own independent set of sites I have been working on for years. I also do regular IT stuff such as computer repair, virus / spyware / malware removal, networking, and custom system builds.
I am currently attending school to get my bachelors degree in Digital Cinematography in hopes to bring my love of movies together with my mad computer skills and step it up a notch profession wise.0 -
I'm a Chatered Surveyor and Project Manager in central London, fortunately i have construction sites in various parts of London, so usually get around 20-60minutes of walking in a day, but thats only circa 200calories worth, so once i'm at 50% of my target weight loss i'm going to start adding in more cycling and swimming to begin the process of toning/increasing fitness after work, whilst still maintaining the weight loss! Unfortunately thats going to be after i get back home, usually around 7pm! :-(0

Hi,
I'm a stay at home mum to three children ages 3, 4 and 8. Do workout dvd's whilst the older ones are at school and youngest joins in. Live in the country and it's quite hilly so we get out walking too. Lucky enough to have a treadmill and usaully able to steel 15-20 mins 2-3 times a week at night or 1st thing whilst hubby still around.
Apart from that I guess the rest of the day is spent picking up toys, cleaning, school bus run (about 1/2 mile), gardening, tending the chikens etc etc.
Seem to be pretty busy most of the time.0 -
I travel back and fourth in time assassinating people and then replacing them with carefully constructed copies of the originals. My only objective really is to see a season 2 two of the Firefly television series and stop Guns and Roses from making Chinese Democracy.0

I work at home for a printer company. I do internal customer service. It is a blessing and a curse. I love not having to commute, but the only exercise I get from my work is my 2 second walk from my bedroom to my office. Also, no one is here watching and there is food in the kitchen, so I have to fight the willpower to snack all day. Not having to get dressed up in business casual clothes is really nice because I hate dressing up, BUT i think when I first started working from home I gained alot of weight and didn't even realize it because I didn't have to squeeze into any form fitting clothes. However, it is nice because on certain days, I can go walk around the block, or do my xbox kinect for exercise.0

Band Director. My vocational activity is seasonal... Sometimes on my feet, sometimes on a marching field... sometimes at a desk working on drill, writing music, etc. My family and I have joined a gym so we are able to get out there an burn calories fairly often. It has been a great addition for us. I understand your predicament... It is much harder to be healthy when your mobility is limited. Wish you well.0

I'm a stripper
:noway:
Ok, not really. I'm a Medical Support Assitant at a hospital on the military base. I sit until I have to chase after one of the nurses or doctors.0 -
I am a single mom and a full time insurance agent. My job is mostly butt-sitting on...so I like to push my chair to the wall and stand, or squat down. I also do squats, leg lifts, dips and push-ups when nobody is around. I make a lot of "jogs" or "runs" to the back of the office throughout the day, even when I could have picked up the phone. I am also the only person that parks on the other side of the parking lot, even when it's raining. Every little bit helps, right? :bigsmile:0

High school teacher for a self contained special education building in the Autism classroom. I move A LOT during the day, chasing kids down the hall, out of the building, across the field, etc. At the same time, I get plenty of sit down time as I always have boatloads of paperwork and IEPs. I set MFP for lightly active to be on the safe side. I still go home and try to work out 4-5 days a week. And the dog gets a walk almost every night.0

I work in a library in a science research institute although it looks like I will be taking on another role in the same organisation just splitting my days so I'll be off to work in IT at the other end of the building which looks like it might include a lot of walking around.0

I had cancer surgery last September, and has not been able to walk due to side effect from chemo. I have gain about 35 pounds.0

I am a medical coder and work for a health insurance company, so I'm pretty much sitting at my desk for 8 hours a day ,40 hours a week. On nice days I try to get outside for a walk for my 15 min breaks. I also go to school full time at night and online as well and am finishing up in the end of June, thank goodness, because I'm spending a lot of time after work doing my research papers and other homework, sitting at my computer. Ugh. Otherwise, I am doing ChaLean Extreme and fit that in 5 days a week after work, between homework assignments, whenever I can find the time. I can't wait to be done with school this summer, I'll have so much more free time!!0

I am a data processor/accounts payable/billable. I register students for classes at an international private online high school (when I am needed) other wise I am processing refunds in the accounting department and am set to start monthly billing to international schools (I like the sound of International Billing Specialist  ). That is my full time job. My part time job is a Pampered Chef Consultant and soon to be Thirty-One Consultant. I also crochet and sell things, and am working on designing my own purse/bag to sell. I also dabbled in the food industry with my own business, but can't continue with it at this time, until I can get a store front/kitchen retail space. My goal is to make consulting my full time job so I can work from home and be a work from home/stay at home mom when we have kids. Plus, there will be no limit to how much I can make, I won't be limited to my current income level (and I am an independent contractor for my full time job, so no pay increases for me).0

I work overnights at Walmart in the dairy cooler and freezer, but if I said that was what I did "for a living", I'd probably have to stab myself.
In July I leave for the Air Force to become a linguist. That is a job I deem worthy of being called my living. I can't waaaaait.0 -

So sorry to hear that. My mom has leukemia. Her medication makes her very sick so she actually lost weight. I hope you are soon cancer free. :flowerforyou:0 -
I'm an in home nurse. I stay home with my kids (11, 3, and 7 weeks) during the day and only work a couple evenings a week. So work doesn't interfere with workout time, but trying to find a time when none of my kids need me or need to be driven somewhere is tricky. I usually get my workouts in in the morning while the baby is napping, 3 yo is playing/watching tv, and 11 yo is at school. If I can't get a long enough break to exercise during the day with the kids I'll workout in the evening when my husband is home. Summers are also super easy because dh is a teacher, so he's around most of the time all summer, which gives me lots of options for when to get a workout in.0

I’m an accountant, so pretty sedentary. But my office is on the second floor, and I always use the stairs and make sure I go up/down several times a day. I do mini workouts everytime I go to the bathroom (squats, wall push-ups, leg lifts, kicks, etc) and my main workout time is my power walks at lunch.
I was a stay at home mom for 4 years and never had a problem gaining weight. Chasing after 3 very active little kids doesn’t leave much chance to sit around and gain weight. Once I went back to work in an office, I started gaining.0 -
I work in a the Emergency Room as an Emergency Tech. Now some days I do move around ALOT, but other days It can be pretty steady. I have three children at home also, so Im usually pretty busy with them. Im not very active besides the movement at work and with the kids. I hope to change that and slowly progress into more activity. But sometimes after working my 12 hour shifts Im too drained to work out. And eating is another story. You either dont have enough time or theres too much time. I know its not a race in losing weight. But sometimes I just give up too easy. So hopefully, I can stay on track this time.0

I used to be in a horrible job with high stress and terrible work hours (I would go three months without seeing my husband). Then I quit that job and became a housewife. We don't have kids yet so I am nowhere near as active as moms who are trying to wrangle toddlers0

Ok, I actually have two answers to this:
I'm a youth mentor 10 months a year, on a good day I take the young lady I work with and we go walking at the park. On days I know she has homework/appointments/ect. I usually have to fit my workout in before I go to work or late in the evening when I get home. I will get to the school early most days and take my wrist weights with me so I can fit in some exercise then too. I will stay outside when she is in her appointments and walk until she's done. I tighten my abs while sitting at stoplights.
During the summer I work at a summer camp. This involves lots of walking, stairs, heavy lifting, and being on my feet. So I get my work out without even thinking about it. Last summer I lost nearly 3 inches in two months.0
