SAP Security Administrator/Info Sec Guress. IT desk job. I keep small handweights at my desk and I try to do 3 sets of 5 different exercises with them and 20 squats throughout the day. My employer also has 2 Zumba classes a week that I attend. When it's not too hot, I also try to walk the 2 mile loop around our campus. Apparently some of our engineers have mapped out a 1 mile course through the buildings, but I have yet to be able to get my hands on it!

I'm the assistant marketing director and collateral designer for a non-profit historical, nature and arts organization that oversees 4 venues. I spend a lot of time at my desk!! If I get to work 5 minutes early, I'm walking the properties for 5 minutes. On my lunch hour, I eat for 15 minutes and walk for the rest. After work, I drive the hour commute home, get there by 6ish, grab my kids and we go to the track until 650. Then either dinner is ready in the crock pot or it's already prepped from that morning (I generally cook 3 meals a day) and is quickly done. I also attend a weekly boot camp class and zumba twice a week plus on Sundays, i walk/jog at the park for at least 2 hours if not more.

I'm a full time college student, but I also work part-time (20 hours a week) in a state licensed daycare facility in the 1-3 year old classrooms. Definitely keeps me on my feet, and since I eat the healthy, state approved meals that our cook prepares, I don't have an issue with putting a bunch of crap in my system while I'm at work.

I also am doing clinical hours in the hospital right now for my college major (Paramedic Science). 8-12 hours in the hospital on my feet has helped lose a few pounds. I'm about to start my ambulance internship time, so I'm going to have to keep myself on track.

As for exercise, after work or clinical I try to go for at least a half hour walk. I also do some toning work with 3-5 pound weights.

I went from being on my feet for work (hair stylist) to sitting at a desk job (marketing specialist for an IT consulting company) so it was definitely different and the pounds packed on. Fortunately, I only work til 4 so I'm able to go home and workout at my apartment's tiny gym (consists of elliptical, treadmill that has been broken for a few months now, and a weight machine), use indoor/outdoor pool, walk outside if it's nice, Pilates videos, just bought Jillian Michaels 30DS and just download couch to 5K app and started it last night. I was the primary breadwinner but now that the bf is working again hopefully I'll be able to get a gym membership at Lifetime soon. I also have boot camp once a week where we do lots of strength training and other days for strength training I go to my mom's (she lives 15 mins away) and she has resistance band, yoga ball, weight bar, weight ball, etc. So I make due with what I have and it feels good after sitting on my *kitten* all day.

I'm a director of a nonprofit. Though I do a lot of different things, I still spend a lot of time sitting at a computer. Fortunately, I have a dog at home. After having to be cooped up in the house while I'm at work, she DEMANDS at good, long walk every afternoon - rain, snow, or shine. I live in a mountain community, so any direction I walk is up and down hill - great cardio workout. After my walk I try to get in 20-30 minutes of pilates or power yoga. My kids are all grown, so don't have to try to work in exercise around their schedules - but I certainly remember those days!

My husband and I have 3 businesses:
1: Hot Shot Service...time-sensitive delivery to the energy industries
2: Custom Cabinetry/Finishing....on my feet all day, sanding, distressing, glazing cabinet doors & furniture....also a LOT of heavy lifting and moving items in & out of the spray booth on rolling carts (that are very heavy when loaded down)
3: House Remodeling/Rennovation......we buy "uglies", and turn them into "swans".

So....as you can see....I am very seldom sitting on my rear.
Here's my exercise stuff at home:

    1. Elliptical Trainer
    2. 4 lb hula hoops
    3. Wii Fit Plus
    3. Gold's Gym Dance Workout for Wii
    4. Just Dance 2 & 3 for Wii
    5. 5lb Kettle Bell
    6. Leslie Sansone Walk At Home DVD's

However...I also have a membership to my local Rec Center/Gym
    It has a free weights area/cardio area/Cybex Resistance machines area/indoor pool/outdoor pool/Basketball court/fitness classes room/indoor running track

I have two jobs - I work at a co-op food so when I'm doing 7-8 hour shifts two days I week I burn at least 600 calories (I have a pedometer app on my iPhone that keeps track) as I'm constantly on my feet running about to and from the tills and stacking shelves and then I also work in a tattoo studio as a receptionist and I sterilise the equipment etc (one day I will tattoo!). So one job is running around 2 days a week and the other job is mostly sitting with light movement two days a week. I also go to the gym on my days off and walk my dog.

I work in Auto Claims for a major Insurance Comp. (I'm a good neighbor) I sit for 7 hrs and 45 mins each day so sometimes at lunch a couple of us will lace up our sneakers and take a walk. It's 2.2 miles to the end of the street and back. On Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons I walk in the park and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday I do Zumba. Getting ready to start Slim in 6 next week.

I'm a prepress manager/graphic designer for a commercial printing company. So I'm pretty much in front of my computer from 7-5. Also a freelance writer, so there's more hours in front of a computer. So getting my workouts in are very important. I do work as a general carpenter as part of a construction crew on a large-scale remodeling project another 10-12 hours per week, so I am burning calories during that time climbing up and down ladders, hanging drywall, carrying lumber, etc.

I am a respiratory therapist. I work at two hospitals. One of them I am on my feet almost all day. The other one is slower and I have a lot more down time. I know that my body is used of being busy so I get up at 4:15 every morning and work out before work. I work 12 hour shifts so I know that if I wait until after work it will be too easy to make excuses. I have no excuses in the morning. When I work at the slower hospital I try to go up and down the stairs a few times to help keep me moving. I have also went to the stress test room and walked on the treadmill. I don't run because I don't want to be sweaty for the rest of my shift.
