I am a Police Dispatcher, on my butt 8 hours a day, Monday - Friday. I work just 3 blocks from downtown, so I try to use my lunch break for my exercise, I walk downtown to pick up lunch and then walk back.

My husband and I have 3 businesses:
1: Hot Shot Service...time-sensitive delivery to the energy industries
2: Custom Cabinetry/Finishing....on my feet all day, sanding, distressing, glazing cabinet doors & furniture....also a LOT of heavy lifting and moving items in & out of the spray booth on rolling carts (that are very heavy when loaded down)
3: House Remodeling/Rennovation......we buy "uglies", and turn them into "swans".

So....as you can see....I am very seldom sitting on my rear.
Here's my exercise stuff at home:

    1. Elliptical Trainer
    2. 4 lb hula hoops
    3. Wii Fit Plus
    3. Gold's Gym Dance Workout for Wii
    4. Just Dance 2 & 3 for Wii
    5. 5lb Kettle Bell
    6. Leslie Sansone Walk At Home DVD's

However...I also have a membership to my local Rec Center/Gym
    It has a free weights area/cardio area/Cybex Resistance machines area/indoor pool/outdoor pool/Basketball court/fitness classes room/indoor running track

I have two jobs - I work at a co-op food so when I'm doing 7-8 hour shifts two days I week I burn at least 600 calories (I have a pedometer app on my iPhone that keeps track) as I'm constantly on my feet running about to and from the tills and stacking shelves and then I also work in a tattoo studio as a receptionist and I sterilise the equipment etc (one day I will tattoo!). So one job is running around 2 days a week and the other job is mostly sitting with light movement two days a week. I also go to the gym on my days off and walk my dog.

I work in Auto Claims for a major Insurance Comp. (I'm a good neighbor) I sit for 7 hrs and 45 mins each day so sometimes at lunch a couple of us will lace up our sneakers and take a walk. It's 2.2 miles to the end of the street and back. On Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons I walk in the park and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday I do Zumba. Getting ready to start Slim in 6 next week.

I'm a prepress manager/graphic designer for a commercial printing company. So I'm pretty much in front of my computer from 7-5. Also a freelance writer, so there's more hours in front of a computer. So getting my workouts in are very important. I do work as a general carpenter as part of a construction crew on a large-scale remodeling project another 10-12 hours per week, so I am burning calories during that time climbing up and down ladders, hanging drywall, carrying lumber, etc.

I am a respiratory therapist. I work at two hospitals. One of them I am on my feet almost all day. The other one is slower and I have a lot more down time. I know that my body is used of being busy so I get up at 4:15 every morning and work out before work. I work 12 hour shifts so I know that if I wait until after work it will be too easy to make excuses. I have no excuses in the morning. When I work at the slower hospital I try to go up and down the stairs a few times to help keep me moving. I have also went to the stress test room and walked on the treadmill. I don't run because I don't want to be sweaty for the rest of my shift.

I am a Service Coordinator...managing therapy services for babies and toddlers with special needs. I do a lot of field work, so traveling in the car to locations across a county. When in the office, i don't sit still for very long...always up and down making copies and sending faxes. After work I usually hit the park for a 3 mile walk/run or head to the gym. This week I am starting Zumba...here we go!
  • i'm a stay at home mom to a 2.5 year old boy & a 1 month old girl. my daughter is EBF, so when ever i actually get a break from nursing i'm normally; cleaning house, chasing my 2.5yo, or doing a quick workout. if the weather is nice i also get out and walk 2-3miles a day pushing them in a stroller.

I work in Customer Services for Kelloggs so there is always food around the office and I sit at my desk all day.

I used to work in retail and would love to know how many steps I used to rack up!

Wow you have my dream job! I use to work for ATA in MDW and I use to fly to different statiums just to check them out! I bet you get all of the boys talking to you. I worked at the gates and in operations as well. I miss my days at the airport but the pay with ATA was not that great. Now I work for a travel agency as a receptionist. Well I wish you the best of luck on getting fit!
