Need to lose weight in one day!!

Okay, I have a dress I fit in but I need an extra push on the weight loss for tonight. I drank enough water to drown-in to get rid of any potential water weight gain. I started 24 hour fast at noon. Can anyone think of anything else or is this about the maximum I can do? I suppose I can do a spinning class tonight but I will have to at least eat an apple two hours before or I won't be able to give much effort. Any tried and true tips are appreciated.
Please no responses from the "don't do under 1200 calorie crowd". I have some available fat so my body will not go into starvation mode. Fasting occasionally is good for the body anyway.

Honestly, I don't think your body will change much in one day... no matter what you do.0

Maybe cut off a leg. I heard that works. Or shave your head. That is what the wrestlers used to do in high school0
-
Drinking a ton of water will make you look and feel bloated. Enjoy the results0

Spanx. I hear they work wonders. It won't make a difference on the scale but could help you look great and feel really confident in your dress.0

Sitting back to watch the show....0

Woah woah woah. Come on now. I directly fit into the category.... lol0 -
Is this for a wedding or something? Why does it have to be for tonight or right now? Curious.0

I would say get a really good pair of spanx or control top panty hose.0
-
...and I want to hit the lottery tonight. Losing weight in one day (losing body fat, inches & doing it the proper way) is damn near impossible.0

Drink water, tea and stay away from salt. I wouldnt work out without food but maybe you can get a wrap from the spa. Those take off a little but it doesnt last. Good luck!0

Ooooo I love these kinds of posts :devil:0

none of that will make a difference in a day. that's just not how weight loss works
get spanx or a squeem0 -
First off I'm not a doctor so try this at your own risk, but it works when I need to make weight for a competition.
Do not eat or drink anything all day except for maybe 12 oz of water and a *little* yogurt or similar food if you need it. Do some slow-moderate cardio, specifically something that will make you sweat a lot (spinning is probably good). You will lose weight in your sleep as well, as moisture will evaporate from your body. In a day I would say you could lose up to 4 or 5 lbs depending on body composition.
Downsides, you'll probably have a ****ty time at whatever you're wearing your dress to. You will be irritable, tired, and dehydrated. You could have some medical trouble, definitely watch out for things like feeling dizzy or lightheaded, disorientation, and a big one is if you're exercising and you stop sweating it means you're way too dehydrated.
So why not just use some duct tape/fishing line and crisco to get into the dress?
Edit: I forgot to mention that you can take a laxative before you go to bed to make sure that you go to the bathroom in the morning. Make sure you take the gentle natural kind and not something used to cure serious constipation or else maybe you end up in the hospital.0 -
Spanx and Diurex Water Pills.0

Poop with all of your might!0

Dont mean to be um how can I say it...realistic? What you are doing isn't healthy...your body is going to go into plateau mode...0

double mastecomy.
While your at it, a lobotomy.0 -
Ummm you look pretty awesome already...Why do you need to lose anything for tonight?0

Buy a new dress. Stressing your body (even for one day) isn't going to make the dress magically fit, and you probably won't feel your best for partying anyway.
Now you can focus on getting your goals met in a conscious way before the next big event.0 -
Spanx and Diurex Water Pills.
That is actually a good idea. I never thought of water pills!0 -
I would buy a new dress for tonight and use the other dress for further motivation. Good luck!0
-
Donate blood too... I'd recommend doing so immediately after shaving your head.0
-
are you looking to faint or feel ill and drifty at whatever your event is tomorrow? Don't do it. Do the spanx thing, or just go as you are and enjoy yourself. to be honest, nobody gives a hang how anyone else looks really. Just go have fun and don't worry.0

So, does the dress fit but you don't like the way it looks? If that's the case, triple Spanx and call it a day - Lemon out.0

"lose weight in a day" ???
There are things that can make a difference in a day. They don't address body fat, but they address bloating and other things that can be, um... taken care of.
I lost 1 " on my waist and 1/2" on my hips in one day (yesterday, in fact). Was it fat? No. It was retained water and, uh, you know "stuff" in my digestive tract. Best way to deal with those things is to drink plenty of water (you are doing this), don't eat things that will make you retain water (like sodium, diet sodas, any processed crap), and DO eat fiber. Have a salad- dark leafy greens. And i always think exercise is good to keep things flowing along smoothly in the digestive tract. coffee doesn't hurt in the "make things flow" department- so indulge in a cup. Then drink water. Eat a salad. Go for a nice jog.
note: before people go all whack out on me for suggesting that a laxative might be good, I want to clarify that *for me* this is only a beneficial last ditch effort if I'm feeling "backed up"...I'm def not advocating the laxative "poop out your food" style of bulemia. I'm just saying if you are backed up and bloated because you have been eating crap (as I was earlier this week), eating fiber and drinking a cup of coffee and getting some exercise and water will help move those things along!0 -
the ladies above are right - if you can get yourself to a mall or department store (maybe go for a run?!), spanx are awesome. i know they've gone way down in cost since they first started selling, too.
avoid sodium, you'll retain more water if you eat a lot of it.0
