Does anyone else NOT do a "cheat" day?

I have one or two a year for big holidays. If I'm eating at the In-laws house, I have to be polite (BIG cultural differences) and eat some of the food, but I have NO IDEA how to log her stuff. So, I work my butt off, eat light where have the option, opt for small portions and pray.
That is only 1 or 2 days a year, though.0 -
I don't have planned cheat days and I don't crave bad foods. But if I'm at work and their is a potluck or birthday cake, I will indulge and make every effort to fit it into my calories. I also cheat at holiday meals...that would be the only planned cheat. But like I said there is nothing foodwise that I crave that isn't in my plan. If there was, I wouldn't deprive myself and might plan the occasional cheat meal. If you don't have a regularly planned cheat day, then you're better prepared for the unexpected.0

I have one cheat day a week. But it's not the WHOLE DAY. I allow myself one kind of treat, and I get the smallest size(say a shake/ice cream/etc) OR if I go out to eat I'll just have a cheat meal. I usually do fridays or saturdays. But I still exercise and try to do extra that day if I can. It keeps me sane.0

Depends. Some weeks i may have... 2 cheat days, some none - some I just have one little cheat thing a day, and just work out or something. It really depends on what I'm craving and eating that day anyway.0

Doesn't a cheat day help you restart your metabolism? I know if you WAY over do it and eat too much that it won't help. but if you never go over a set amount of calories your body gets to adjusted to your diet, and your weight loss goes much slower. Does anyone else find that it helps?0

I'm guilty of cheating. I have to get better at finding the right foods to eat, but I've only been on here for about a week so I'm still learning. I made a promise to spend more time going for walks since the weather is so nice.0

I don't have a cheat day, in fact I think it's a bad idea!
If I had one day where I could eat anything then I would eat too much and spoil my diet. It would play havoc with my weight loss and general health. I'm trying to eat a healthier diet and incorporate any 'unhealthy treat foods' into this, its all about moderation!0 -
I can't either... it's all or nothing for me. If I do a cheat day, it ends up turning into a cheat week. I just do not have the ability to do a cheat day and not go off track!0

Thats great! I like how you give yourself a cheat day, without taking advantage of it any other day of the week. Knowing you can have a certain food on Sunday really helps the craving go away. Read my latest post and tell me what you think. As I said, I like how you have your "sunday", and I'm going to do the same!0

I never have a "planned" cheat day. I just end up eating too many calories a few days a week and I count those lol0
-
I don't do cheat days0

I'm pretty new here but I don't plan any cheat days. In fact I *try* to plan the whole day of food ahead of time if at all possible; just to make sure I don't get out of control.0
-
Nope, no cheat day here!0

I don't have a cheat day. For me, one cheat day turns into two cheat days and before I know it I have ruined a whole week with bad decisions. Once I cheat it's hard for me to get back on track.
No cheat days for me. I have issues with food...and as long as I am eating clean, I seem to have things under control. Add in a cheat day/ free for all and I am done.0 -
To me, keeping a cheat day is kind of like keeping your bad habits around. I prefer to have a nice dinner every once in a while or to not track my food just for practice, but I try to keep myself satisfied enough so I don't feel the need to "cheat" or "binge". Way back when I could eat a whole dozen doughnuts all by myself but I have given up gluten now. I am learning how to eat better for my lifetime. Now eating extra nuts, a full plate of sushi or some dark chocolate covered rice cakes is about as bad as it gets. I do not feel deprived either. But saying that, it is ultimately what works for you that is most important. As soon as it stops working then switching it up is the most logical thing to do.0

I don't plan them, but I go over my calories more often than I should.0

Nope
The app is your own private food board. No pressure it just shows your life, no point in lying to yourself. Plus, there is no good or bad, you just draw the conclusions for yourself.
Maybe even one indulgence can remotivate you fully, once logged and you can see what's in it !0 -
I eat mostly healthy meals, sneaking something sweet every day. I make sure it fits into my calories (including exercise calories). No designated "cheat days," because I'd go crazy. I rarely ever go over, so I try not to beat myself up if I do.0

i dont plan cheat days , cheat days plan me ..0
-
I have cheat days all the time I don't plan them, they just happen. It's hard not to but it's getting better.:ohwell:0

Just Holidays And even then I keep my portions in hand.
I'm the type if I had a weekly cheat day, I'd "have one early" and then just have them all the time... So I make them pretty seldom.0 -
If I want to cheat and have something I tell myself if I still want it in 48 hours I can have it and I usually get over the craving0
-
I am same as you there is no cheat days as healthy living is a way of life not something I cheat on.0
-
I like what some people are posting about cheat days.....it kinda defeats the purpose of adopting our new healthy lifestyles....I guess I never really thought of it that way.....if I want something high in cals or considered a "cheat" I will exercise a little more, and work it into my cals for the day...0

I don't do a cheat day, but ill do a cheat meal. Easier for my body and mind to recover from one meal of "bad" then a whole day.0

I don't have cheat days. I have been maintaining for over a year and even when losing I didn't call them cheat days. I had days I went over, days I was under and days I almost hit everything just right. It's a lifestyle change and when I looked at it like that - I no longer had those cheat days I remember on Valentine's Day my boyfriend gave me a ton of chocolates and stuff. I ate them like crazy for two days in a row with no problems I logged them too LOL0
-
I don't have cheat days. I do what you do and work it into my calories when I'm craving something.0
-
Nope, never again....for me a cheat day turns into a cheat week..then a cheat month...then a cheat year!!! I can't do it!!!0
-
no cheat day's I believe "Cheating" is something you are not suppose to do, it's something bad, but I do have days I treat myself and like you I work it into my calories0
-
For the next 6 weeks i will not be having one, though before my physique competition i would indulge in such a said day once a week to keep my sanity. But now that i have a date in mind, i need to stick to this diet for just 6 weeks.0
