I am 5'9 and my goal weight is 170-175. I too will never be "skinny". I never have been. Even at what I consider the best shape of my life, I was 169lb and a size 10.0

I am 5'8 and started out at 312. I am currently at 275. My goal is 150 but I am just going to see how it goes. If I am happy at 160 then I'll stay at 160 if I hit 150 and think I need to lose alittle more then i lose a little more. it's about how you feel and what makes you happy!!0

My goal weight is also 150 pounds. Once I get there I'll see if I can maintain it or if I need to let myself gain a little back but I don't expect to get any smaller than 150.0

I'm 5' 8.5" or so and I'm just starting out at 291 pounds. My goal weight is 160 since that will be considered a "normal" weight as far as BMI goes. I have been 160lbs at this height before when I was about 16 and that was a size 10/12 for me (I have very wide hips and I'm small on top). I've always been told I carry my weight very well and when I look back at my 160 pound pictures, I would love to look like that now. Once I get to that point I would probably like to do some more work and fine-tuning, but 160 is the only goal I'm setting right now.0

Hi I am 5'8 and had originally set my goal weight at 145 then changed it to 154 (100 lbs loss ) because I thought that 145 might be too low for me... I am still a work in progress so I will have to wait and see.

I'm 5'8 My GW is 175 for now and then I will look at it again as I get closer. I have always been strong and have never been under 160 as an adult. I'm sure I wont go under 160.0

As I'm reading everyone's post, I started thinking "130, 140, 150, 160 pounds is extra skinny!" Now I know the BMI chart says that but I think it's best to go with what is healthy for your body. With that being said...
Starting Weight (SW)-228
Current Weight (CW)-204
Goal Weight (GW)-180
But I won't be mad if I making it down to 160 but it's not my goal. When I get to 180lbs, I'll see how I feel and what I look like. Right now, I'll be satisfied with 180.
FYI-Ladies, let's stop trying to get back to our "high school" or "jr high" weight. You will not look like that girl that you were then. Embrace the WOMAN that you have become. Strive to be sexier not younger. MFP is helping all of us to get to a sexier and more healthier you.0 -
I'm 5'8" as well. I started out around 200 and am currently around 160. My first goal is 155, but I will probably end up trying to get to 145. I weigh less now than I did in high school. I was an athlete and have always had an athletic build.0

My goal weight may even be 165. I might switch to having a goal BF% instead of a goal weight down the line, because I've been lifting heavy weights since 1 month into my weight loss, and I know that I have gained lean muscle in the process, given my slow scale progress (my point of reference is that I currently fit a size 14/16 weighing 230, last time I fit into a 14 I was around 190-200lbs. and not lifting weights) I would love to fit into a size 8 dress/pants, but I'd be happy with being a size 10 since I have a large frame, and really I just want to look toned and firm and amazing :happy:0 -
I'm 5'7", i started at about 197lb at my highest! that was a scary day almost hitting 200lbs. it happened soo fast. i am very athletic and skinny at 145lbs. my current weight is around 185lbs, maybe closer to 180lbs well see at my weigh in. i would love to be 135-140lbs. i have been as skinny as 118lbs and it was WAY too skinny.0

My goal weight is 150 lbs but I am not at 153 and still not happy. I have several trouble spots (had 3 kids) and can see myself now weighing 140 and toning up ALOT. I have a feeling it will take me longer to lose the last 13 pounds then it did the first 80.0

Hey Ladies. I'm also 5'8"..my highest weight was 243. I am currently 175 and aiming for 160. Once i get there i will revaluate and see where i go. MY lowest ever was when i got married 3 yrs ago and weighed 155. I loved what i looked like there..so we'll see.0

i'm 5'8 when i lost weight before i got down to 10.7 stone and could fit into a uk size 12 comfortably. although i didn't do any exercise i found this to be perfect for my height/big boned body. that was over 5 years ago though :sad:0

I'm 5'10 and aiming for about 9 stone then maybe go lower. It's the lower end of a healthy weight range but I'm just under 10 stone now and I still look pretty well rounded so it should be fine!0

I'm 5'8. My SW was 235, my current is 222.2 (Im just starting out on this journey) My goal is 165 and will then re-evaluate from there. I do know that I havent been smaller that 165 since sometime in Jr High!
Our stats are so similar!!! My start weight was 228...one week in I'm at 222.8! My goal is also btwn 165 and 170! But I'm actually 5'7"... a few years ago I did Weight Watchers and got down to 163 at my lowest...kept it off for a couple of years and then life happened and here I am back where I started plus some!0 -

Hi, I'm 5'8, 46 years old and a mum of 2 kids. I started 10 days ago at 190 and am now 183. My goal is between 142 and 147 which is 10 st 2 to 10 st 7 in old money! That's what I was 8 years ago and I looked great. Now, I'm glad I've started this - it feels like a massive weight off my mind (pardon the pun) but I need to deal with the perimenopause symptoms alongside of the new regime. It's going ok though so far.
