Thanks everyone! I did this mostly with calorie counting and only sporadic exercise until recently, when I've begun weight training. I did IF, which I really enjoyed and will probably continue even now in maintenance. I started at the end of November, so it took me about 7 months to lose the weight.

For me personally, I knew that eliminating "bad" foods and only eating "good" foods would cause me to fail, so that's why I chose moderation and stopped labeling foods as "good" and "bad". If it fit into my calories, then I ate it. I know other people choose to totally revamp their diets and eat clean, and I think that's awesome, but for me, I knew it would be unrealistic for me to completely cut out things that I enjoy that aren't so "clean", like my beloved Ben & Jerry's (Late Night Snack is the best flavor ever!). I really learned to watch portions and I was surprised at my ability to be able to have a little, be satisfied, and then put it away! Having no food be off-limits really set me free in that way.

Just figured out how to make a side-by-side photo!

Congratulations! you look great! I have tried and tried to eliminate "bad" foods, but have failed miserably only to gain more weight. This time around I am doing the same thing as your and just really watching my portions. I am so glad to see that it worked for someone and it could work for me too. Congratulations again, awesome job!

    A-maz-ing.

I started out at 5ft 4 and 161lbs (so exactly the same as you), my goal is to get down to 140 by the beginning of September and then down to 130 and then we'll see from there.

You look amazing and all your hard work has paid off. What cal limit did you stick to and what exercise plan did you have?

wow amazing, i am so jealous. I am 5 ft 2 so a bit shorter and only had 20 lbs to loose ( from 140lbs) and also started in nov 2011 like you. I still can't get under 126 no matter how hard i try. i went hard core with exercising, eating exercise cals back and then no, upping my cals, etc i don't know what else to do... i am falling off track fast now since i can't seem to budge anymore :( I like you learned NOT to cut anything from my diet or i may get hit harder in the end with a binge or something so i have just tried to make better choices and portion control! I weigh my foods, and everything. I cut out pop and chips pretty much as i drank a 2 liter a day but i will have a occasional one maybe once a month now....i don't drink enough water, that i know of... how many cals a day did you eat? when you did exercise, did you eat back your cals?
