What made you decide to post a profile pic of yourself?

So I can show off my progress (and baby belly!) to others working on the simmilar goals. I am proud of myself, why not post a picture?0

Because I am great, and I think my friends deserve to see my greatness.
Pretty much this.0 -
To remind me how far I have come and how far I still have to go.
So my MFP friends can see who they are talking to.
I always hated having my photo taken but now I am a complete attention wh*re I take photos of myself all the time, most are too personal to put on here but I am keeping a progress album. I also can't walk past a mirror now without going OMG I am actually doing this!!! :happy:0 -

i have had pictures of my kids to inspire me,
picture of my art work as people i spoke to about work kept asking questions about how i make a living with a ball point pen haha
i had a picture of myself at the weight i want to get back to to keep my moving but i decided that everyone would asume that was me now, so i posted a more recent one lol0 -
I've only had 2 comments on my pictures since I began in April: both were very polite and complimentary. No flirting or hookups, just a genuine compliment. It made my day better to know that other people were nice enough to stop and send me a positive message.0

I used to be terrified to even put on a bathing suit. Now I take pictures of myself in it. But in all honesty. I am trying to better myself. Slowly but surely I am losing weight and Im proud of that fact, that I am taking the step that so many people wont. So, instead of looking at it as a negative look at it as a positive. Just think you live in a small town. This is a big communtiy. No one really cares what you look like they are just as proud as you or I at how far we have all come! Be positive dont let little mental things get you down!!!0

Thank you :blushing:0 -
I actually usually just use nicely angled head shots to look as thin as possible and hide any kind of "fat".. but as I feel I can be honest about my weight etc at last on this site I used a totally natural pic showing what I "really" look like - it inspires me more to lose the weight, and be able to put up thinner and thinner profile pictures in the future hopefully!0

I workout! .......... im sechsay and I know it ....... WIGGLE WIGGLE ... errrrrrrr yeah cause no1 likes people without a picture lol
^^ AGREED!0 -
Nothing to be embarrassed about. It's just a pic of yourself. That's the problem with online sites and why kids don't learn communication skills. Everyone hides behind a facade.0

Because I am beautiful!
Actually, I like posting a pic of myself, I think it's so people can see a friendly face when they're replying to me, and they can see that I'm a female, approximately how old I am, etc. I've never really thought about it. I don't care if my friends have a pic or not though.0 -
I'm looking forward to posting my "after" picture eventually!!!0
