Gosh you are almost exactly the same beginning size, weight and height as me. I have been on MFP since April of this year, starting weight 182.5 and am now down to 160. I'm not done yet I want to get back into my size 8 jeans and I'm bound and determined to do it. You are inspiring me and I wish you continued success.

This is EXACTLY my thread. I am currently a 12 and have been struggling to lose a pound. Been working out for 3 weeks now at least 5 times a week. I mix up elliptical with RI30 and biking. I know I'm going to see results soon--just got to keep at it. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

You people ROCK! I started as a tight 16/18, currently moved into a 14. When I started this my goal was a 12...I obviously need to re-think this. I am 5'3" and didn't want to get "ahead of myself" goal wise. So excited to see this thread and the possibilities. Thank you!

I started losing in August 2009, lost around 10 lbs in a year just by eating breakfast and packing my own lunch.
Then in August 2011 I joined weight watchers. Lost 20 lbs in 4 months, and then I switched to MFP and lost an additional 15lbs. I mainly eat unprocessed foods, a lot of fish and olive oil, avocado, eggs. I weight lift once a week (I should do this more but I figure once is better than none at the moment), and run around a total of 15 miles a week. I also try to do yoga here and there.
I started at a size 14, and now I am about a size 6. Excuse the Victoria Secret dressing room pic, it's seriously the only picture of my whole body at the moment!
    Starting weight=185lbs Current Weight=140lbs Height=5'7"

I'm going to try this again, with the photos.

I was 191 lbs at 5'7" and a size 12 (US). I started losing the weight in the end of January 2012 when I joined the Biggest Loser Challenge at the gym on base. Before I joined MFP in mid-March, I lost around 10 1/2 lbs and I have lost almost 30 lbs since then. I am a 6, sometimes an 8, at 152 lbs now. I do exercise, but most importantly I keep count of calories, carbs, protein, etc. I don't deprive myself of anything that I want, I just have to make sure it fits in the macros.

The pic on the left is me, at my heaviest 191, and the pic on the right was taken Saturday.

The pic on the left is me in mid-March, right before I joined MFP, and the pic on the right is a couple of weeks ago.

  • This sounds just like me. I joined yesterday, and need some friends to get GOING....please add me!

    SW: 218 (April 2012)
    SW: 206 (started MFP, 7/17/12)
    MG: 180
    MG: 175
    MG: 155
    GW: 135 - 145

I'm dying to know how long this is going to take me. In the past (and before I had children x 4) I always dropped a lot of weight at the beginning of any diet. It hasn't happened this time, but I feel like tracking food and exercise will greatly improve my numbers. Starting off in the low 200's has anyone had a good jumpstart? I'd love to start aiming for the month that I can look forward to serious results. Oh and if it was workout videos or the gym? I bet I can find this info out after becoming friends? Newbie alert!!!
    : )
    I'm a size 16 at the moment....5'8

    Thanks
    M
