You people ROCK! I started as a tight 16/18, currently moved into a 14. When I started this my goal was a 12...I obviously need to re-think this. I am 5'3" and didn't want to get "ahead of myself" goal wise. So excited to see this thread and the possibilities. Thank you!

I started losing in August 2009, lost around 10 lbs in a year just by eating breakfast and packing my own lunch.
Then in August 2011 I joined weight watchers. Lost 20 lbs in 4 months, and then I switched to MFP and lost an additional 15lbs. I mainly eat unprocessed foods, a lot of fish and olive oil, avocado, eggs. I weight lift once a week (I should do this more but I figure once is better than none at the moment), and run around a total of 15 miles a week. I also try to do yoga here and there.
I started at a size 14, and now I am about a size 6. Excuse the Victoria Secret dressing room pic, it's seriously the only picture of my whole body at the moment!
    Starting weight=185lbs Current Weight=140lbs Height=5'7"

I'm going to try this again, with the photos.

I was 191 lbs at 5'7" and a size 12 (US). I started losing the weight in the end of January 2012 when I joined the Biggest Loser Challenge at the gym on base. Before I joined MFP in mid-March, I lost around 10 1/2 lbs and I have lost almost 30 lbs since then. I am a 6, sometimes an 8, at 152 lbs now. I do exercise, but most importantly I keep count of calories, carbs, protein, etc. I don't deprive myself of anything that I want, I just have to make sure it fits in the macros.

The pic on the left is me, at my heaviest 191, and the pic on the right was taken Saturday.

The pic on the left is me in mid-March, right before I joined MFP, and the pic on the right is a couple of weeks ago.

  • This sounds just like me. I joined yesterday, and need some friends to get GOING....please add me!

    SW: 218 (April 2012)
    SW: 206 (started MFP, 7/17/12)
    MG: 180
    MG: 175
    MG: 155
    GW: 135 - 145

I'm dying to know how long this is going to take me. In the past (and before I had children x 4) I always dropped a lot of weight at the beginning of any diet. It hasn't happened this time, but I feel like tracking food and exercise will greatly improve my numbers. Starting off in the low 200's has anyone had a good jumpstart? I'd love to start aiming for the month that I can look forward to serious results. Oh and if it was workout videos or the gym? I bet I can find this info out after becoming friends? Newbie alert!!!
    : )
    I'm a size 16 at the moment....5'8

    Thanks
    M

it really goes to show that weight is just a number...I'm also 5"7 and at 165 i was an 8! at 175 i'm a true 10 and 185 is a 12, but can squeeze into some 10's.
    CRAZY!

    Bump!
  • I'm 5'8" and started as a tight size 12 weighing 190 lbs. Over the last 7.5 months, I've lost 45 lbs and am now a comfortable size 6. Basically I tracked EVERYTHING I ate, learned to eat cleaner, cut out pop and fast food, and now enjoy my favorite foods (which happen to be not so great for you) in moderation instead of multiple times a week. I also work out 6-7 days/week either on the elliptical, doing workout videos (I love 30 Day Shred & am a Beachbody coach), doing Zumba, playing tennis, and running. I love to switch things up so I don't get bored! I honestly never thought eating right and exercising would become a lifestyle for me, but it definitely has - I love it!

When I started my journey ..... hmmm... almost 4 years ago, I was a snug size 14.... probably more like a 16. I started to work-out with a group of friends. The 5 of us were paying for a professional trainer and he worked us.... HARD! Of course, he included a meal plan that I followed religiously for 6 weeks. The meal plan was so strict that I stopped losing weight at the 3 week mark. I did a little research....changed up some things.....Six months later, I was a snug size 10. The difference was so noticeable that people were flocking to me... to touch the hem of my garment to see if they too could lose the weight.

I have continued my healthy habits and I am now a size 4... sometimes a 6... and other times...eh-hem... even a size 2, depending on the designer. My goal is to be a size 2, hence my user name. The change has come over the span of 3.5 years. It is the fierce determination to LOVE the new you that will create a new body. You have to be a size 6 in your mind before you see it in the mirror! In my mind, I Am a size 2.... and so I act like a size 2. What would a size 2 Rikki do? Mind over matter? Sometimes you need the mind to move the matter!

And that is how it's done, ladies and gentlemen.

Very exciting! I'm 5'6" and started at 198 and a tight 16. Always thought I probably wouldn't go lower than a size 12, but now I'm kinda thinking it's a possibility..just looking forward right now to getting comfortably in a 14, but don't want to get stuck there.

started at size 16shirt/18 pants...lost close to 30 lbs and I am still in a size 16shirt/18 pants (though in some shirts I can get down to a size 14 depending on the tightness around the lower belly)....go figure!!!
