Wow I am really proud of all of you that took the first step to get to where you are. I know it is not easy and the journey has its moments..
Keep up all the good work.. Just remember.. Women love men that will motivate them to be the best they can be but is still that sweet personality as well..
Congrats to you all..0 -

Hey, my eyes are up here!
Oh......excuse me....... what did you say ??? LOL !! No seriously, why doesn't someone start a man's group on here ? There's a great one for Low Carb (me) and everyone needs to find the right type of support !!0 -
Started this journey @ 560 lbs. in May 2009 unable to walk from one room to the other without the aide of a rolling computer chair. 34 months later am now 255 lbs. (down 305 lbs.) I was always the big kid in school (6 grade I tipped the scales at 230 lbs.) but I used it to my advantage in sports (Football- played offensive and defensive line, and tight end) never possessed the height I wanted (6 ft. 1 in.) but never let that slow me down on the gridiron... Life just got to hard and food always seemed to fill the void but I changed all that... No one or nothing will ever control my destiny but myself!! I have only myself to answer to (well ok better through the wife in there lol I wanna wake up in the morning hehehehe) and I will stay in control from here on out.... I have some work left to due, have skin surgery in June (surgeon thinks close to 25 lbs. of skin removal) and then total knee replacements at years end (grade 3 osteoarthritis both knee's, torn meniscus both knee's and torn ACL in my left knee.) I am shooting for 220 lbs. (after surgery) and at that point I will begin my official training (no my weightloss mode) building lean muscle, less cardio, more protein shakes, etc... Weightloss has been my focus for 34 months, I do strength train 3 days a week (all low weight, high rep). Add me if you would like, us big guys need to stick together...... :-)
You look Amazing!!! wow!0 -

I love this post man! Very inspiring. I was 320lbs when I started here and Now down to 283! My goal weight is 220 lbs (100 lbs). My Ultimate goal is to get back to my college weight in the 195-200 lbs range. I have been going at it now since July 2011.0

I think it's more that men don't tend to feel the same types of social pressures as women regarding this issue.
Wrong. We sure feel it -- it's just expected that we don't complain about it. If your man came home crying how bad he felt because he was fat, you'd probably recoil in horror.
Good work, men!!
I'm 5'10" went from 210 to 160. It's easy to keep off if you get your diet fixed right. BigMech is a personal ("IRL") friend of mine, we swap tips all the time, though he's quite a bit stronger...0 -
Think I fit into this group well. I started out in the 475 range and at 6' 3". I am currently at 305ish and liking it. I have actually maintained this weight for a month on purpose. I may go ahead and drop down to the 260 range but that is likely as low as I will go.
Open to friends requests just send me a note. I'm really busy at moment so it may be a few days before I respond.
Keep working it.0 -
I'm 6'11.
I was 320ish now down in the 270s. I feel your pain, so easy to gain weight..0 -
6'3'', 6'4'', depends on the day really.
I was 288 when I started, with a goal of 220. I'm at 228 now and have since changed my goal to 188 because I know that I absolutely will not be happy or "thin" once I hit my original goal. I plan on celebrating the day the scale tells me 220, but then getting right back to work to lose 32 more. My goal has gone from losing 68lbs to losing 100lbs and getting myself in that "normal" BMI range.
I can do it. I never thought I could do this, and I have, so I know I can do that.0 -
I'm 5'10, started around 283 now 253... still a work in progress though...0

I'm 5"10. I weighed about 270 until I got serious with this website and workouts. I lost nearly 10lbs this month. My meter says 4 lbs. lost because I was 265 December and I gained weight during summer and It wouldn't let me change it to 270 on the meter so I just left it. But I lost about 10 lbs.0

6'2" and 380 starting out. Down to about 360 now. Still a long ways to go but seeing some or the changes people have made in this thread makes me want to get there even more. Feel free to add me as a friend as I could use the support.0
